Highlights
Pet care experience
Easy going pet-sitting/walks
I've had dogs since I was a kid, I'm used to big, high energy, and stubborn dogs of all ages! We've been fostering pups on and off for over a decade. We have a senior dog and an 11 month old puppy at home and have cared for 5 foster pups in 2026 alone.

Ratings and reviews
Richard and Melissa have watched Cinnamon at their house many times, and it has always gone well. They send updates, make sure she gets outside regularly, stick to her feeding routine, and let me know if anything seems off. Cinnamon is comfortable at their place and knows them well now. She gets attention, has space to relax, and comes home acting normal and settled, which is exactly what I want after leaving her with someone. I would recommend Richard and Melissa to anyone looking for Rover sitters who will pay attention, follow instructions, and take good care of your dog.
I've dogsat and dogwalked for Richard several times over the years, with several of his dogs and fosters, and know him to be smart, conscientious, caring, with his dogs and the foster dogs in his care. He's quick to respond to & correct any health issues that pop up or any behaviour problems, and is well informed in what he does with them. Dogs he has raised and trained are a pleasure to walk and interact with, and I'd trust him as a caregiver any day.
I've known Richard for many years and he is a wonderful guy! He and his family have had and fostered a bunch of dogs who have been very loved and well trained. Couldn't recommend him more!

Schedule
I'm currently off work with a disability and have been taking care of dogs and puppies on a volunteer basis/as a foster. I'm taking a break from fostering and figured I could do this in the meantime! Since I'm not currently working I can offer a lot of time, energy, training and care to a dog.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
We have a 11 month old female husky x puppy at our house who is incredible with other dogs and loves to play all day long! We have a fenced yard. I'm home all day, and my wife works from home so we can hang out with and keep an eye on your dog(s). We can crate your pooch if necessary overnight or if we need to pop out and we have small medium and xl crates at home. We have 2 kids at home 14 and 4 who love to help out and play.

A typical day
We typically start the day by getting the kids ready for school. We walk my daughter to daycare at around 8am and bring our pup with us which takes 45 minutes to an hour round trip. I hang out in our spacious dog friendly basement, or in our fenced in yard with our dog, I take her out with me when I run errands. We've typically had at least one other dog at home with us so I watch them play or take them to the park. I typically have a lazy afternoon and rest with the pups- if they're too hyper to rest, my wife will take a break and keep an eye on them for me. My 14 year old is home around 4 and helps with extra training and play. We head out to get my daughter around 430 and the dog gets another walk. We typically try to get another walk in after supper but that depends on a lot of other factors!
