“I had never boarded our 8 year old chocolate lab before so I was nervous to leave him. Kim made us feel comfortable with plenty of pictures and updates throughout the week. They dogs got along great, enjoyed the whole house and she even let him sleep on the bed. I can’t say enough great things about this experience. She noticed his ears were bothering him and took the time to clean them (which he doesn’t normally let anyone do but me). Thank you Kim! ❤️”

“Nicole and Eddie were wonderful with Daisy. They gave her lots of loving attention, took her on many walks with their dog, Keyser. They also took her to the pet store and had other activities planned for her during her stay. Keyser and Daisy get along well and are a good match for each other. We felt very confident leaving Daisy with Nicole and Eddie while we were on vacation, and loved the photos they sent us showing Daisy was having lots of fun.”

“Another amazing stay for our little Romeo! Lynda and her pups always know how to welcome Romeo. Clearly, as seen in the daily photos and videos, we see Romeo becoming more confident with other dogs and enjoying his time in Lynda’s attentive and dedicated care. Lynda has great dog psychology into these pups and uses her intuition and observations to ensure Romeo is comfortable and enjoying his time with camp-like fun. From the multiple back yard haven breaks to preparing Romeo’s meals the way he likes and the extra treats and play, we could see he was in excellent hands and surrounded by a loving family. It is evident that Romeo has become so attached to Lynda and even protective of her pups. We will of course be back and always know we can relax when we are away from our fur baby. Thank you Lynda for just being you ♥️”

“Yogi had the best time! Laura took such good care of him! Small dogs can be a little quirky and Yogi is no exception but she managed to figure him out & make it work for both of them.”

“Johanna is a kind and incredibly reliable dog watcher who truly treats pets like family. Cosmo needs a bit of time to trust new people, and she gave him the space, calm energy & gentle reassurance he needed. We felt completely at ease knowing she respected his personality, made him feel safe and comfortable. He was relaxed, well‑fed and happy when we picked him up. We are very grateful and will happily book with her again.”

“Frankie and Gus had a great stay with Kirstin & Justin. They provided updates throughout their stay, were flexible with drop off and pick up times. We would definitely book with them again. They came home happy pups!”

“Ashley was absolutely amazing from meet and greet all the way to pickup! Maple had an amazing time and would definitely recommend to anyone! Ashley sends lots of pictures, videos and updates throughout the stay which was truly a treat!”

“Thank you Hui for sharing your home with Piper. We loved getting all the video updates while we were away. We’re also pretty sure Piper thought she was at Doggie Summer Camp with how much fun she had. Special thanks for added attention and care during extra hot summer days.”

“Kavya took care of Bailey while we were away. Bailey made herself at home and was treated like family! I received news and photos every few days, it was perfect! Thanks!”

“Thank you so much! Everything went really well, great communication throughout, and your feedback about his nighttime anxiety was very helpful. It definitely gave me something to think about for our next trip.”

“Danielle took really great care of Bowser. It was very easy to connect with Danielle and she was always responsive. She provided daily updates along with pictures which put my mind at ease knowing my baby was having fun. It'll be easy for me to pick Danielle again when we need a sitter again in the future.”

“We are thrilled to have a go-to Rover near beautiful Merrickville, where we sometimes spend the weekend. Now, we're able to send our dog to have a blast with Kayla and her dog while we roam the shops, cafes, and restaurants. Kayla was prompt, professional, and friendly in her communication and service, and she took great care of our dog. He was smiling extra big in all of the photos she sent us throughout the day. We will be reaching out to here again in future, and recommend her to others.”

About: Hi, I’m Shannon. I provide a calm, clean, and structured home environment where your dog will feel safe, relaxed, and genuinely cared for in a countryside environment. As a healthcare professional and experienced dog sport handler, I naturally pay close attention to detail, routines, and subtle changes in behaviour, ensuring your pet’s well-being is always a top priority. I keep my bookings small so each dog receives personalized care, consistent routines, and meaningful one-on-one attention. My home is best suited for dogs who thrive in a quieter environment, including seniors or those who may feel overwhelmed in busy kennel settings. I also have experience accommodating puppies and high-energy dogs in various stages of training. I work from home, which allows me to provide a consistent, supervised routine where your dog receives plenty of structure, attention, and meaningful interaction throughout the day. My child is very dog savvy and trains dogs as junior handler on our flyball club. I attend dog training classes with my own dogs. When appropriate and with your approval, your dog is welcome to join for a safe and enriching outing, including a secured car ride and a supervised “sniff safari” or work recalls at the training facility. During the summer months, I also participate in dog sport tournaments, which may involve travel and on-site camping 4–6 hours away. For clients who are comfortable, dogs are welcome to join these structured adventure experiences. Participation is always optional and discussed in advance to ensure it’s the right fit for your dog. I offer a dedicated dog space equipped with crates, comfortable bedding, fresh water, and access to a secure dog run, along with a large, fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time. We also have the executive suite, which is a play pen for boarding dogs and especially for puppies and seniors. I have extensive experience with senior dogs and those with special needs, including administering medications, supplements, dietary needs kibble and raw feeding, caring for deaf or blind animals. With over 12 years in competitive dog sports, I am also skilled in handling puppies, high-energy dogs, reactivity (such as barking or anxiety), and resource guarding. Please note: while I am experienced with behavioural challenges, I do not accept dogs with a history of aggression or biting. This is to ensure the safety of all dogs in my care, as well as my young child at home. For safety, all boarding dogs must be crate trained and comfortable with overnight crating. This helps maintain a calm and structured environment. During the day, dogs are welcome on furniture and can enjoy a relaxed, home-like setting. You can expect regular updates, photos and videos, a clean and safe space, and the peace of mind that your dog is being cared for like family.
“A+, Janice and Rene are super nice and friendly. They are experienced dog sitters, and I felt totally comfortable leaving my older dog with them. They kept me regularly updated with messages and pictures. I will use their service again and I strongly recommend them”

“I can’t recommend Lei enough! We started with a meet and greet near her place at the park. She was calm and super friendly. She asked all the right questions regarding my pup - what he likes, doesn’t like, his schedules, routines etc - all questions that indicate that she has his best interest at heart. Throughout my pup’s stay, she sent an abundance of updates with pictures. Ollie seemed super comfortable and well taken care of. So much so that I can tell he misses her now that he’s home with us! I will be picking Lei every single time from this point forward.”

“Very pleased with Chico’s first visit. It was a great setting with no other dogs and a caring family who treated him like he was their own! The kids tired him out, loved his kisses and Daniel and Sarah kept us updated with photos and notes. We rebooked immediately after picking him up from his 1st visit.”

“Jacqueline and Jamie are exceptional care givers. They not only gave our doodle a lot of love but also helped curb some bad habits. Their attention to detail and analysis of canine needs was exceptional. We received multiple pictures, videos and narratives on a daily basis. Communication skills were outstanding. Our boy received many walks and play times with his dog pack companions and was kept well groomed with occasional wash-ups required after some frolicking in the mud. My wife and I and our doodle are very happy customers and wish we could award 6 instead of just 5 Stars. We highly recommend Jacqueline and Jamie.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
