“I had never boarded our 8 year old chocolate lab before so I was nervous to leave him. Kim made us feel comfortable with plenty of pictures and updates throughout the week. They dogs got along great, enjoyed the whole house and she even let him sleep on the bed. I can’t say enough great things about this experience. She noticed his ears were bothering him and took the time to clean them (which he doesn’t normally let anyone do but me). Thank you Kim! ❤️”

“Nicole and Eddie were awesome! They were very accommodating for our last minute request and took great care of Cosmo for us. They were great with providing updates and photos and Cosmo had a blast playing with Keyser. No issues at all and would definitely use them again. Thanks again guys!!”

“Lynda was wonderful, as always! She accepted Timon on very short notice, even with a busy schedule, and took such great care of him. This was only a short stay, but he had a fantastic time, came home happy, and slept so well afterward. We always have complete peace of mind knowing he’s with Lynda.”

“Kirstin, Justin and their son are a dog owner’s dream! They took such good care of our dogs: 1. noticing and addressing their individual needs; 2. taking them for long walks and cuddles; 3. treating them as their own. They made us feel so comfortable leaving our furbabies while we were away. They also provided updates each day, along with several pictures of their time together. Their communication was top knotch. We were very happy with the care of our furbabies and look forward to using them again in the future 🐾💗”

“Excellent service for us and my tiny pup. Joanna is very kind and caring for the dog and was very responsive when planning and answering questions. Awesome experience.”

About: Hi, I’m Shannon. I provide a calm, clean, and structured home environment where your dog will feel safe, relaxed, and genuinely cared for in a countryside environment. As a healthcare professional and experienced dog sport handler, I naturally pay close attention to detail, routines, and subtle changes in behaviour, ensuring your pet’s well-being is always a top priority. I keep my bookings small so each dog receives personalized care, consistent routines, and meaningful one-on-one attention. My home is best suited for dogs who thrive in a quieter environment, including seniors or those who may feel overwhelmed in busy kennel settings. I also have experience accommodating puppies and high-energy dogs in various stages of training. I work from home, which allows me to provide a consistent, supervised routine where your dog receives plenty of structure, attention, and meaningful interaction throughout the day. My child is very dog savvy and trains dogs as junior handler on our flyball club. I attend dog training classes with my own dogs. When appropriate and with your approval, your dog is welcome to join for a safe and enriching outing, including a secured car ride and a supervised “sniff safari” or work recalls at the training facility. During the summer months, I also participate in dog sport tournaments, which may involve travel and on-site camping 4–6 hours away. For clients who are comfortable, dogs are welcome to join these structured adventure experiences. Participation is always optional and discussed in advance to ensure it’s the right fit for your dog. I offer a dedicated dog space equipped with crates, comfortable bedding, fresh water, and access to a secure dog run, along with a large, fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time. We also have the executive suite, which is a play pen for boarding dogs and especially for puppies and seniors. I have extensive experience with senior dogs and those with special needs, including administering medications, supplements, dietary needs kibble and raw feeding, caring for deaf or blind animals. With over 12 years in competitive dog sports, I am also skilled in handling puppies, high-energy dogs, reactivity (such as barking or anxiety), and resource guarding. Please note: while I am experienced with behavioural challenges, I do not accept dogs with a history of aggression or biting. This is to ensure the safety of all dogs in my care, as well as my young child at home. For safety, all boarding dogs must be crate trained and comfortable with overnight crating. This helps maintain a calm and structured environment. During the day, dogs are welcome on furniture and can enjoy a relaxed, home-like setting. You can expect regular updates, photos and videos, a clean and safe space, and the peace of mind that your dog is being cared for like family.
“Yogi had the best time! Laura took such good care of him! Small dogs can be a little quirky and Yogi is no exception but she managed to figure him out & make it work for both of them.”

“Our furry friends had an absolute blast! Jacqueline and Jamie took great care of them, and we were always kept in the loop. They came back to us feeling super tired and relaxed, which is exactly what we wanted. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet care.”

“Gus just had his second stay with Lei and the bond they have is beautiful. It is obvious that they understand each other and have a connection. Gus is very happy and feels safe when in her care. We are so lucky to have found someone who loves our Gus as much as we do.”

“Madeline and Ryan did a great job taking care of Kevin. Kevin can be a bit anxious being in a new environment but it was clear he was happy and comfortable the entire time he was there! We would definitely leave Kevin in their care again!”

“This sitter was the best. Extremely professional and kind and caring. Knows her stuff. My dog came home super happy and that makes us happy. A lot of photos videos and updates the way it suppose to be and we appreciate that.”

“Christina and her family made Alfie feel welcome, and he eagerly returned their affection. She provided pictures of him during his 4-night stay, and graciously agreed to let us pick him up late in the evening. Thanks, Christina!”

“Hui really loves animals and is very passionate towards them. She is the best dog 🐕 sitter I have ever used. I brought my Coco to Hui for 5 days over the Christmas period. Hui sent photos and videos of Coco regularly and made sure Coco was active , fed and walked regularly for potty and pee breaks. I am relieved to know Hui is there in the future when I travel again. Thanks very much Hui!”

“Apollo had another fantastic stay with Daniel and Sarah! As always, they are always super responsive, send great photos and updates over the stay. I can tell Apollo absolutely loves being with them and their kids, as he never wants to leave 😂”
“Rufus loved his time with Jocelyn and Jason. He came home happy and healthy. They even picked up a new collar for him when he chewed through his harness. Will will definitely ask Jocelyn and Jason to take of Rufus when we go away.”

“Jason and his family were absolutely great with Kiwi! Lots of pictures almost daily, and Kiwi always looked happy and comfortable. She returned home also looking very well taken care of. I'd definitely recommend Jason to take care of your pets, and will surely have him and his family watch Kiwi again in the future. :)”

“Quianzhi was everything I could have asked for in a dog sitter, she is kind, gives plenty of updates, and clearly knows dogs very well. It was mine and my pups first experience with boarding, and I was very worried how he’d adjust, but there was no need. Will absolutely be booking again!”

“Lindsay is great! She treats Max like a member of her family and we can tell that Max loves staying with her. Very grateful to be able to have peace of mind when we travel, knowing that Max is in good hands.”

“Janice and her family were absolutely amazing with our dog, Yeti! From the very beginning, the initial meet and greet was so reassuring. Janice’s knowledge of dogs and their behavior was incredible, and we felt completely comfortable leaving Yeti in her care. We received multiple pictures every day, which kept us at ease knowing he was in good hands and having a great time. We’ve officially found our forever Rover sitter and will definitely be planning our holidays around Janice’s availability so we can always book with her! Highly recommend! 😊”

“Tanya is amazing! She took excellent care of our 12 year old dog. She provided updates and photos while we were away. She even went the extra mile by giving him a lovely bath prior to our pick up. He smells great...for the time being! :)”

I think Bella had a great time with Shelley and family. She was excited to run into their house right away when i arrived to drop her off. She must've remembered the meet and greet and wanted to see her two cat friends and the rest of the family. We had some timing issues on both sides for my pick up time and Shelley was fine keeping Bella a few extra hours which was appreciated and worked out to both our benefits.

Ollie, our 4-year-old Golden, just came home from the best boarding experience he’s ever had — and honestly, we couldn’t be happier. Laura and her husband are genuinely caring, warm people who treated Ollie like one of their own. From the moment we dropped him off, their love for dogs was obvious, and Laura’s positive, cheerful energy put both Ollie and us completely at ease. Ollie had an absolute blast. He got to swim (his favourite thing in the world), play with another Golden and an adorable Golden puppy, and just be his happy, social self. He fit right in from day one. The neighbourhood is lovely, and the whole environment felt safe, welcoming, and full of life. Communication throughout the stay was excellent — we always knew how he was doing, which means everything when you’re away from your fur baby. Ollie came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We’ll absolutely be booking with Laura again. Highly recommend! 🐾

I have found it hard to find care for my pup because she is nervous of new people and afraid of many dogs. Love that Kimberley takes only 1 dog at a time - she was great with Opal and Opal got along well with her dog. Loved the pictures and updates - thank you Kimberley & Astro!

Frida had a great week and loved her new friends. Great first time experience with Rover, and it was all because of the great sitters. We had a nice connect the week prior and knew right away it would be a great fit. Constant updates of all the fun they had while we were away helped reassure she was in great hands. I would highly recommend Megan and know we will definitely be bringing Frida back for a visit!

It’s quite difficult for me and I believe many others, to leave a much loved dog in the care of anyone I do not know very well. Michaela’s calm approach seemed to immediately let my puppy relax and happily go with her. Seeing my Cali relax was definitely reassuring. Michaela also sent me a photo of Cali probably 30 minutes after I left, further convincing me that I had made a good decision in my choice of sitter! All around a very positive experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to choose Michaela again, to take care of Cali.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
