“Nicole and Eddie were wonderful with Daisy. They gave her lots of loving attention, took her on many walks with their dog, Keyser. They also took her to the pet store and had other activities planned for her during her stay. Keyser and Daisy get along well and are a good match for each other. We felt very confident leaving Daisy with Nicole and Eddie while we were on vacation, and loved the photos they sent us showing Daisy was having lots of fun.”

“I had never boarded our 8 year old chocolate lab before so I was nervous to leave him. Kim made us feel comfortable with plenty of pictures and updates throughout the week. They dogs got along great, enjoyed the whole house and she even let him sleep on the bed. I can’t say enough great things about this experience. She noticed his ears were bothering him and took the time to clean them (which he doesn’t normally let anyone do but me). Thank you Kim! ❤️”

“Timon has stayed with Lynda multiple times now, and every time has been absolutely wonderful. She treats him like one of her own, and it’s clear how much she genuinely cares for the dogs in her care. Timon always comes home happy and well-exercised. Lynda also keeps me updated with the sweetest messages, photos, and videos—which I truly appreciate. It’s such a relief to know Timon is in a safe, loving, and structured environment when I’m away. I trust Lynda completely and can’t recommend her enough!”

“Laura did a fantastic job looking after my two pups! They stayed with her for a few days while I was away, and seemed to have themselves a great visit. She looked after so many of the details to make sure they were as well cared for as possible, adapting to each of their temperaments and needs. I highly recommend her. You can tell she has really big heart and will work to make sure your animals feel as at-home as possible : )”

“I honestly don’t even know where to start with how incredible this experience was. I found this dog sitter last minute on Rover, and from the very first message, they went above and beyond in every possible way. I have two very high-energy dogs, and leaving them is never something I take lightly—but she, her husband, and their kids made me feel completely at ease. Not only were they unbelievably accommodating and flexible, but they were also so genuinely kind, warm, and generous. They treated my dogs like part of their family. It wasn’t just “watching” them—they were loved, played with, and cared for in a way that honestly exceeded anything I could have hoped for. Her kids adored my dogs, and it showed in every update and every interaction. What truly stood out was how much they went out of their way to help me. They kept my dogs longer than expected without charging anything extra, just out of kindness. That level of generosity is rare, and it meant so much to me. If you’re looking for someone you can fully trust with your pets—someone who will treat them like their own—I cannot recommend Justin, Kristen and her family enough. I am beyond grateful to have found them. Thank you again for everything—you are truly amazing. ❤️”

“Jenna is amazing! She was very accommodating and kept us updated with lots of pics on how Panda was doing during his stay. We highly trust and recommend Jenna as a host for the fur babies. We also really appreciate Jenna took our last-minute booking and always responded timely. Will definitely rebook with Jenna and recommend her to anyone.❤️”

About: Hi, I’m Shannon. I provide a calm, clean, and structured home environment where your dog will feel safe, relaxed, and genuinely cared for in a countryside environment. As a healthcare professional and experienced dog sport handler, I naturally pay close attention to detail, routines, and subtle changes in behaviour, ensuring your pet’s well-being is always a top priority. I keep my bookings small so each dog receives personalized care, consistent routines, and meaningful one-on-one attention. My home is best suited for dogs who thrive in a quieter environment, including seniors or those who may feel overwhelmed in busy kennel settings. I also have experience accommodating puppies and high-energy dogs in various stages of training. I work from home, which allows me to provide a consistent, supervised routine where your dog receives plenty of structure, attention, and meaningful interaction throughout the day. My child is very dog savvy and trains dogs as junior handler on our flyball club. I attend dog training classes with my own dogs. When appropriate and with your approval, your dog is welcome to join for a safe and enriching outing, including a secured car ride and a supervised “sniff safari” or work recalls at the training facility. During the summer months, I also participate in dog sport tournaments, which may involve travel and on-site camping 4–6 hours away. For clients who are comfortable, dogs are welcome to join these structured adventure experiences. Participation is always optional and discussed in advance to ensure it’s the right fit for your dog. I offer a dedicated dog space equipped with crates, comfortable bedding, fresh water, and access to a secure dog run, along with a large, fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time. We also have the executive suite, which is a play pen for boarding dogs and especially for puppies and seniors. I have extensive experience with senior dogs and those with special needs, including administering medications, supplements, dietary needs kibble and raw feeding, caring for deaf or blind animals. With over 12 years in competitive dog sports, I am also skilled in handling puppies, high-energy dogs, reactivity (such as barking or anxiety), and resource guarding. Please note: while I am experienced with behavioural challenges, I do not accept dogs with a history of aggression or biting. This is to ensure the safety of all dogs in my care, as well as my young child at home. For safety, all boarding dogs must be crate trained and comfortable with overnight crating. This helps maintain a calm and structured environment. During the day, dogs are welcome on furniture and can enjoy a relaxed, home-like setting. You can expect regular updates, photos and videos, a clean and safe space, and the peace of mind that your dog is being cared for like family.
“Rufus loved his time with Jocelyn and Jason. He came home happy and healthy. They even picked up a new collar for him when he chewed through his harness. Will will definitely ask Jocelyn and Jason to take of Rufus when we go away.”

About: My name is Samantha and I've been a lifelong lover of all creatures great and small! I am currently a mom to a 8 year old miniature schnauzer, but I've had a kitty or dog companion by my side my entire life. I'm new to Mississippi Mills and I would love to meet your pet. Friends in Ottawa have relied on me to check in on their fur babies, take them for walks, feed them dinner, or simply spend time with them! I'm very reliable, I work from home 4 out of 5 week days, have a car, am flexible and adaptive. I work from home 4 out of 5 days of the week and am typically available on evenings and weekends. If your pup likes other pups I can have them join in on my routine walks with my little schnauzer. If not, that's cool too! I'm always down for a solo walk. I will do whatever it takes to make sure your furry baby will be well taken care of! I can be trusted to do drop in visits, spend time petting, playing with, feeding or walking your baby.
“Kavya took care of Bailey while we were away. Bailey made herself at home and was treated like family! I received news and photos every few days, it was perfect! Thanks!”

“Thank you so much for having Oscar over the holiday holidays. It looks like he had a great time with his friends. Leaving Oscar with you guys gives us peace of mind, knowing that he is in good hands until we return.”

“We are thrilled to have a go-to Rover near beautiful Merrickville, where we sometimes spend the weekend. Now, we're able to send our dog to have a blast with Kayla and her dog while we roam the shops, cafes, and restaurants. Kayla was prompt, professional, and friendly in her communication and service, and she took great care of our dog. He was smiling extra big in all of the photos she sent us throughout the day. We will be reaching out to here again in future, and recommend her to others.”

About: I'm 22, I've had animals my entire existence including reptiles. I live on 4 acres of mostly fenced in yard for your babies to run around. I'm flexible on anything you need for your babies. (And I can babysit your reptiles) I currently have no job but I'm looking for a part-time so I can continue to focus on meeting all sorts of new animals that need somewhere to snooze and play. I have a mostly fenced yard, three doggos that are super friendly to everything. I have experience with vet medicine and crate training. I have LOTS of safe dog toys that need to be played with.
“Meghan and Jon took great care of our girls. We appreciated how relaxed and confident they were, which made our first time using Rover a very pawsitive experience. Communication was easy and we felt like we could contact them anytime. We will absolutely be using them again !”

“I feel so lucky to have met Laurie and Chris! They took such great care of Leo and gave him so much love and attention. They are bully lovers through and through and understand all the funny quirks that come with frenchies. I would be so happy for them to watch Leo anytime and will definitely be reaching out again!”

“Ashley was absolutely amazing from meet and greet all the way to pickup! Maple had an amazing time and would definitely recommend to anyone! Ashley sends lots of pictures, videos and updates throughout the stay which was truly a treat!”

“We loved how Alaina communicated with us and how welcoming she is, a true home environment for our furry-not-so-baby-anymore. Nicolas enjoyed his time with Cowen and his family. Thanks!”

“When I park outside of Ali's home, my Jaxon can't wait to get out the car and pulls me all the way to the door! That's always a great sign that our poochie's are happy and well-taken care of! I would recommend Ali to everyone!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
