“I had never boarded our 8 year old chocolate lab before so I was nervous to leave him. Kim made us feel comfortable with plenty of pictures and updates throughout the week. They dogs got along great, enjoyed the whole house and she even let him sleep on the bed. I can’t say enough great things about this experience. She noticed his ears were bothering him and took the time to clean them (which he doesn’t normally let anyone do but me). Thank you Kim! ❤️”

“Nicole and Eddie were awesome! They were very accommodating for our last minute request and took great care of Cosmo for us. They were great with providing updates and photos and Cosmo had a blast playing with Keyser. No issues at all and would definitely use them again. Thanks again guys!!”

“Lynda was wonderful, as always! She accepted Timon on very short notice, even with a busy schedule, and took such great care of him. This was only a short stay, but he had a fantastic time, came home happy, and slept so well afterward. We always have complete peace of mind knowing he’s with Lynda.”

About: I’ve had animals in my home for as long as I can remember and understand that pets are family. With over 20 years of professional caregiving experience, providing compassionate, reliable, and attentive care comes naturally to me. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, companionship, or extra patience and affection, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away, giving you peace of mind every step of the way. I genuinely enjoy caring for animals, and pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I’ve always had pets in my home and have years of hands-on experience providing loving, reliable care. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping pets company, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and treated like family. I understand the importance of consistency and will care for your pet as if they were my own. I have a fully fenced yard in the country but will also provide two walks a day and lots of playtime. Our pets are our family and it gives me joy to give them new experiences and bring them with me on adventures. All within the comfort levels of their parents of course.
“Kirstin, Justin and their son are a dog owner’s dream! They took such good care of our dogs: 1. noticing and addressing their individual needs; 2. taking them for long walks and cuddles; 3. treating them as their own. They made us feel so comfortable leaving our furbabies while we were away. They also provided updates each day, along with several pictures of their time together. Their communication was top knotch. We were very happy with the care of our furbabies and look forward to using them again in the future 🐾💗”

About: Hi, I’m Shannon. I provide a calm, clean, and structured home environment where your dog will feel safe, relaxed, and genuinely cared for in a countryside environment. As a healthcare professional and experienced dog sport handler, I naturally pay close attention to detail, routines, and subtle changes in behaviour, ensuring your pet’s well-being is always a top priority. I keep my bookings small so each dog receives personalized care, consistent routines, and meaningful one-on-one attention. My home is best suited for dogs who thrive in a quieter environment, including seniors or those who may feel overwhelmed in busy kennel settings. I also have experience accommodating puppies and high-energy dogs in various stages of training. I work from home, which allows me to provide a consistent, supervised routine where your dog receives plenty of structure, attention, and meaningful interaction throughout the day. My child is very dog savvy and trains dogs as junior handler on our flyball club. I attend dog training classes with my own dogs. When appropriate and with your approval, your dog is welcome to join for a safe and enriching outing, including a secured car ride and a supervised “sniff safari” or work recalls at the training facility. During the summer months, I also participate in dog sport tournaments, which may involve travel and on-site camping 4–6 hours away. For clients who are comfortable, dogs are welcome to join these structured adventure experiences. Participation is always optional and discussed in advance to ensure it’s the right fit for your dog. I offer a dedicated dog space equipped with crates, comfortable bedding, fresh water, and access to a secure dog run, along with a large, fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time. We also have the executive suite, which is a play pen for boarding dogs and especially for puppies and seniors. I have extensive experience with senior dogs and those with special needs, including administering medications, supplements, dietary needs kibble and raw feeding, caring for deaf or blind animals. With over 12 years in competitive dog sports, I am also skilled in handling puppies, high-energy dogs, reactivity (such as barking or anxiety), and resource guarding. Please note: while I am experienced with behavioural challenges, I do not accept dogs with a history of aggression or biting. This is to ensure the safety of all dogs in my care, as well as my young child at home. For safety, all boarding dogs must be crate trained and comfortable with overnight crating. This helps maintain a calm and structured environment. During the day, dogs are welcome on furniture and can enjoy a relaxed, home-like setting. You can expect regular updates, photos and videos, a clean and safe space, and the peace of mind that your dog is being cared for like family.
“Yogi had the best time! Laura took such good care of him! Small dogs can be a little quirky and Yogi is no exception but she managed to figure him out & make it work for both of them.”

“Our furry friends had an absolute blast! Jacqueline and Jamie took great care of them, and we were always kept in the loop. They came back to us feeling super tired and relaxed, which is exactly what we wanted. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet care.”

“Rufus loved his time with Jocelyn and Jason. He came home happy and healthy. They even picked up a new collar for him when he chewed through his harness. Will will definitely ask Jocelyn and Jason to take of Rufus when we go away.”

“Mia made our family feel so comfortable when we left Eddy at her house. Her dog Bella is very sweet. We got lots of pictures of Eddy and Bella on their snowy walks side by side on the trails. Her kids were also excited to have an extra dog to love. Thank you Mia and family! We will use your service again!!”

“Jenna sat my small yorkie for just under a month. The experience was excellent. When we picked her up she was healthy, and spunky! The fact that Moxie ate all her meals (at dome sitters she stopped eating at times) tells me that the atmosphere was calm, in that my yorkie felt safe and comfortable. Much appreciated were the pictures and prompt responses to updating on how Moxie was doing. Thank you Jenna for being such a kind care taker to Moxie!”

“I feel so lucky to have met Laurie and Chris! They took such great care of Leo and gave him so much love and attention. They are bully lovers through and through and understand all the funny quirks that come with frenchies. I would be so happy for them to watch Leo anytime and will definitely be reaching out again!”

“Ali is always so great with Tiko! Usually she helps with dog walking while I’m at work, and most recently she watched him for the week while I took a trip - I was so thankful that he was able to stay with someone he loves and trusts! Highly recommend Ali to anyone!”

About: My name is Samantha and I've been a lifelong lover of all creatures great and small! I am currently a mom to a 8 year old miniature schnauzer, but I've had a kitty or dog companion by my side my entire life. I'm new to Mississippi Mills and I would love to meet your pet. Friends in Ottawa have relied on me to check in on their fur babies, take them for walks, feed them dinner, or simply spend time with them! I'm very reliable, I work from home 4 out of 5 week days, have a car, am flexible and adaptive. I work from home 4 out of 5 days of the week and am typically available on evenings and weekends. If your pup likes other pups I can have them join in on my routine walks with my little schnauzer. If not, that's cool too! I'm always down for a solo walk. I will do whatever it takes to make sure your furry baby will be well taken care of! I can be trusted to do drop in visits, spend time petting, playing with, feeding or walking your baby.
“Kirat was super responsive and helped us with a last minute boarding request. Not only did she help on short notice, she was WONDERFUL with Sadie. The kids loved following along with her stay through photo’s and instagram posts and it was awesome to follow along. Kirat genuinely cared for Sadie like she was her own. Kirat will be the first place we look for boarding going forward. I cant recommend her enough!”

“Erin was lovely with our two little boys. They seemed relaxed and happy when we picked them up and we were glad they were able to get some socialization with her two dogs. She was flexible with our pick up time and kept in touch.”

“Meghan and Jon took great care of our girls. We appreciated how relaxed and confident they were, which made our first time using Rover a very pawsitive experience. Communication was easy and we felt like we could contact them anytime. We will absolutely be using them again !”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
