“Daisy had another fun play day with Keyser. Nicole and Eddie give Daisy lots of attention and love which she thrives on. She came home one happy and tired pup :)”

“Wonderful home to bring your pups to! The warmest couple that treated my dog Sunnie just as if she was their own. The property is beautiful and perfect for country living and a safe sanctuary for any pet. Sunnie came home happy and I will not hesitate to bring Sunnie back soon for another visit. She was in great hands!”

“Super nice with me and my cats. Helpful along the way (they helped me bring them up and down). They sent pictures/video of them to see how they interacted. Very good first experience!”

About: I am a former dog owner of an 18 year old Cockapoo I lost 1,5 years ago. Prior to this I cared for my 19 year old Spaniel/terrier. In addition, I am listed on Trusted House sitters as a Five star House/pet sitter. My last girl, I took care of her in Pallative state, administering, meds, special allergy bathing , going to the Vet for fluids and other treatments. Carry her down the deck stairs for her potty time when her ability was no longer there to climb up and down stairs etc. I had both of my dogs as a puppy and trained them with some dog trainers and my own training. I still have bedding, dishes, wire and mesh crate, toys! I am retired, I have some spare time depending on some days between appointments and trips into Ottawa. I would be more available during the day and early evenings I have a fenced yard, with plenty of grass down below the deck area. I am close to walking trails and sidewalks outside of my home. I do have a wired and mesh crate. I may administer some oral medication. Walk, feed, give lots of love, hugs and attention to your fur baby!
About: Dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, you name it! I have a decade of experience and care for your pet. With love and compassion I am happy to help. I have a very flexible schedule to meet your pets needs. Weekend, week day, or holiday availability. Pets need love and care 365 days a year! I am happy to follow your pets routine and make sure they are happy and safe while in my care. I understand that they will miss you and will do my best to make sure they enjoy our time together.
About: I'm 22, I've had animals my entire existence including reptiles. I live on 4 acres of mostly fenced in yard for your babies to run around. I'm flexible on anything you need for your babies. (And I can babysit your reptiles) I currently have no job but I'm looking for a part-time so I can continue to focus on meeting all sorts of new animals that need somewhere to snooze and play. I have a mostly fenced yard, three doggos that are super friendly to everything. I have experience with vet medicine and crate training. I have LOTS of safe dog toys that need to be played with.

“Cindy was very sweet and took great care of Monty. I got pictures of his time there and he clearly had lots of fun. I will definitely be coming back. I feel so at ease knowing he played with some friends and came back a happy boy!”

“Guinness enjoyed her day with Jason and Bella. She always has such a wonderful time and is so well looked after when she’s there. She comes home tired from a full day of playing and fun”

“Keva got to spend a day with Alaina and a few of her furry friends while the parents were at an event. Keva came home tired and happy. How wonderful that she was able to play with new friends instead of staying home alone. We have already booked with Alaina again!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover living in Stittsville, Ottawa, and dogs have truly been my passion for as long as I can remember. I share my home with my own three well-socialized, crate-trained dogs and work mostly from home, so your pup will have plenty of attention, company, and care throughout the day. I have a large, fully fenced, pie-shaped yard that’s safe, clean, and perfect for playtime. Dogs in my care are treated like family — they’re welcome to sleep freely in my bedroom with my dogs, have cozy pet beds, and follow a calm, loving routine. If your dog prefers or needs a crate, you’re welcome to bring one, and I’m happy to help with crate time when I step out. I know how hard it can be to leave your pet, especially if you feel anxious about their care. My goal is to give you total peace of mind knowing your dog is safe, happy, and genuinely having a great time. Caring for dogs isn’t just something I do — it’s who I am, and one day it’s my retirement dream. For now, I’m thrilled to offer a loving home-away-from-home for your pup. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your dog like their own, feel free to reach out — I’d love to chat! I work 90% from home. I just go in and out for meetings and certain scheduling, but I’m rarely out of the house for longer than a few hours. Basically, aside from my job, which I mostly do remote dogs are my first priority and get the current attention. They need hourly if not minute by minute. I treat others dogs like I treat my own with love, warmth, and caring. I exercise the dogs daily and give them what they need to make sure that they’re tired out and before I ever leave the house for an hour or two if I need to, I make sure that they are let outside and that they’ve done their business so they don’t have to wait for me to get back.
“Oliver officially knows how to sniff his way to Mirians's house in the morning... He basically dragged me to her front door today! I think that means he likes it there 😊thanks, Mirian!!”

“Rodrigo was an amazing dog sitter! I’m very happy with the care he provided for Milo. When I picked him up, Milo was calm, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of, which says a lot. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog sitter!”

“Michelle is fantastic. She took such great care of Ody. He loved his walks, he got brushed, he played and received all the lovings a floofy cloud could want. An easy recommendation. Michelle never disappoints. :)”

“Jennifer was kind and warm at the meet & greet and, fortunately for me, was available to provide daycare on fairly short notice for my recently adopted older dog. I felt confident that Misty was in safe and caring hands. She came home tired and happy after a full day of fun and attention.”

About: I’ve been showing dogs since the age of six, which has taught me how to handle different breeds of all ages and sizes. Outside the show ring I take on grooming; ex. trimming coats, nails and cleaning ears. I’m a lover of all dog breeds and would love to take care of your pup, whether it be through walking them or checking in while you’re away. I am a University student home for the summer. Although I work from 12:30-6pm Tuesday-Friday and 10-3pm Saturdays, I’m happy to care for your pet the rest of the day. Walks help get myself and your dog active while drop-ins help to relax and unwind from daily stress. Puppies; I have taken care of many puppies who have gone through all stages, and am well aware of the importance of the person and environment they are raised around. Due to this, I will gladly offer light training on the side (ie. preventing biting and jumping up) without additional fees but I understand if this is not necessary. Majority of visits will focus on play and working your pup’s mind to prevent under stimulation. Middle age; Visits will focus around both play and rest, the ratio varying on the breed. I will gladly play with any dog as well as ensuring they are calmed down before I leave to prevent frustration. Seniors; As someone with an old girl myself, I greatly understand the struggles of administering medications and the work that goes in to owning a veteran. I understand a plethora of massage techniques and will gladly help relieve any muscle pain your dog my experience without additional fees. In terms pf activity level, I will adjust depending on the dog, although with older ones I will be consistently watching to ensure they don’t stress their joints.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Smiths Falls
5+ stars to Ashley for her love and care with our Fergus!! Her home and yard were so welcoming for our pup, and it was evident that he had a great time there. We received lots of photos in the few short hours that he was in her care. And, following the visit, Ashley sent us a sweet video compilation of all the fun, activity and nap time that was had during Fergus stay ❤️. We will definitely choose Ashley for our future pup-sitting needs 👍. Thank you, Ashley!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Smiths Falls commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
