About: I've had dogs for the last 20 years, usually with four in the house at a time. We've had a Shih-tzu, three Jack-Shih-tzus, a Great Pyrenees, and now a solo Maltie-Poo named Dozer. Every dog I meet is a new friend, and I have to admit that I knew the names of all the dogs in my last neighborhood, and like maybe three of the owners names. Happy to walk active dogs that need long walks. For doggy day care and boarding we have to restrict it to small dogs because our own small dog is picky about which larger dogs he likes. Other animals: I've also taken care of farm animals. Dairy cows and calves, and feeding chickens and putting them in for the night. I've kept both freshwater and marine tanks and can check up on your fish or your reef while you're away. No worrying about your niece or nephew dumping a whole container of bug bites into the tank while you're gone and causing an ammonia spike. I've also kept constrictors and colubrids (but not currently), crested geckos, and dart frogs, and am familiar with the husbandry of each. I have a flexible schedule and am in between writing contracts at the moment so have lots of time available for scheduling check-ins and walks for local puppers. I can check-on and feed pets as needed, dispense necessary meds, walk them from your home, or load them in the car and take them to the Cataraqui Trail for longer walks / more active dogs.

About: I have several years of professional and independent pet care experience, including dog daycare, pet retail, dog walking, drop-ins, house sitting, overnight care and extended stays. I currently work from home, which gives me flexibility for pets who benefit from having someone around throughout the day, and I’m especially interested in building relationships with regular clients. I previously worked in dog daycare where I cared for groups of up to 75 dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments. My experience includes feeding, walking, bathing, brushing, crating, administering medications, puppy care, senior care and working with special-needs dogs who require additional attention or accommodations. I’m also trained in canine first aid and comfortable caring for pets with more involved routines. Through my previous work at Village Pets Boutique, I gained extensive knowledge of pet nutrition, supplements and natural health products. Before that, I worked in the Pet Care department at PetSmart, giving me an even broader background in animal care and handling. I’m equally comfortable with cats and have plenty of experience caring for them through my work at PetSmart as well as independent drop-ins, house sitting and overnight stays. I’m very comfortable staying in a client’s home for extended periods and frequently provide this type of care while clients are travelling. Animals have also always been a huge part of my life outside of work. I grew up in a home with both dogs and cats and currently have two black Labs back home, Louie and Lenny. I bring a calm, capable and compassionate approach to pet care and genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal’s individual personality and routine. I currently work from home, which gives me a lot of flexibility for pet care throughout the day. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, daytime care, overnight sitting and extended stays, and I’m especially interested in finding regular clients who need consistent weekly care. My schedule can vary week to week, so feel free to message me about what you’re looking for! For house sitting, I’m very comfortable staying overnight or for longer periods and can often continue my normal workday from your home while keeping your pet company. I try to keep each pet’s routine as close to normal as possible, especially when caring for them in their own home. I’ll follow your usual feeding, walking, medication, crate, sleep and exercise routines and take the time to learn your pet’s individual habits, boundaries and personality. My professional daycare experience has made me very comfortable reading animal body language, recognizing stress or changes in behaviour and safely managing pets with very different temperaments. I’m also comfortable administering medications and caring for pets with more specific routines or needs. When house sitting or staying overnight, I’m very respectful of my client’s home and make sure everything is cared for while they’re away, not just their pet!

About: I am a former dog owner of an 18 year old Cockapoo I lost 1,5 years ago. Prior to this I cared for my 19 year old Spaniel/terrier. In addition, I am listed on Trusted House sitters as a Five star House/pet sitter. My last girl, I took care of her in Pallative state, administering, meds, special allergy bathing , going to the Vet for fluids and other treatments. Carry her down the deck stairs for her potty time when her ability was no longer there to climb up and down stairs etc. I had both of my dogs as a puppy and trained them with some dog trainers and my own training. I still have bedding, dishes, wire and mesh crate, toys! I am retired, I have some spare time depending on some days between appointments and trips into Ottawa. I would be more available during the day and early evenings I have a fenced yard, with plenty of grass down below the deck area. I am close to walking trails and sidewalks outside of my home. I do have a wired and mesh crate. I may administer some oral medication. Walk, feed, give lots of love, hugs and attention to your fur baby!
