“Wonderful home to bring your pups to! The warmest couple that treated my dog Sunnie just as if she was their own. The property is beautiful and perfect for country living and a safe sanctuary for any pet. Sunnie came home happy and I will not hesitate to bring Sunnie back soon for another visit. She was in great hands!”

About: I am a former dog owner of an 18 year old Cockapoo I lost 1,5 years ago. Prior to this I cared for my 19 year old Spaniel/terrier. In addition, I am listed on Trusted House sitters as a Five star House/pet sitter. My last girl, I took care of her in Pallative state, administering, meds, special allergy bathing , going to the Vet for fluids and other treatments. Carry her down the deck stairs for her potty time when her ability was no longer there to climb up and down stairs etc. I had both of my dogs as a puppy and trained them with some dog trainers and my own training. I still have bedding, dishes, wire and mesh crate, toys! I am retired, I have some spare time depending on some days between appointments and trips into Ottawa. I would be more available during the day and early evenings I have a fenced yard, with plenty of grass down below the deck area. I am close to walking trails and sidewalks outside of my home. I do have a wired and mesh crate. I may administer some oral medication. Walk, feed, give lots of love, hugs and attention to your fur baby!
“It was a first time visit for our dog "Jennie" and for ourselves to meet Bridget and see the farm. What a wonderful experience for a dog. Lots to see and do and new aromas to discover. Apparently Jennie helped round up some pigs! That certainly is a first for her. She came home thoroughly exhausted in the best possible way. We actually had a quiet evening - no zoomies as she was played out - yah!”

“My dog Tucker now does daycare every week with Danielle and her family. What a wonderful family snd environment. They treat him like he is their own. Thank you so much for your kindness and care.”

“Scottie had a great day. Alfie and Mango were waiting for her in the backyard when she arrived. She looks happy in all her pictures and she slept for a few hours when she got home! Thanks Ashley, Scottie will be back.”

“Krystal provided the perfect environment for Pooh. He got great care. At 13, blind and with diabetes, he still finds ways to get in trouble. He was safe. His medical needs were addressed and he was able to play safely with other pets.”

“Sept 9, 2024: We left our toy poodle (13 months old) with Catherine for the first time. Catherine is a lovely person and you can clearly tell that she has a natural passion for looking after dogs and always has their best interest and safety in mind. Her home and yard are very clean and organized. We received regular updates on how our puppy was doing with pictures and videos, which was so nice to receive. Our puppy had the company of Catherine’s own puppy and the two played really well with each other. They have a backyard that is fenced and puppy-proof for a perfect place to get some fresh air and play time. We will be booking again with Catherine. Looking for your go-to daycare - We highly recommend Catherine. Thank you Catherine! 5+ stars”

About: I’ve lived with and taken care of many different dogs over my lifetime, including within my family and branching out to friends families as well. I have been seen as a go to for pet check ins, sittings, and walks. Recently, I have decided to branch out and make more four-legged friends! I work from home 3/5 days per week in Kenmore/Metcalfe/Russell/Greely area, and would be happy to take my lunch breaks to go on walks with your fur babies, or to do some check-ins! I am also open most weekends. Ensuring your fur baby feels safe, secure, and comfortable is my top priority! Sometimes new faces can be scary, but I ensure I approach new fur babies with love and care. Safety is also something that I consider to be top priority, which includes the safety of your pet and your home. Providing an animal with a fun nurturing environment is something that I take pride in!
“Hannah is great with caring for both our senior dog and energetic puppy! They always get lots of exercise and come home tired from daycare. She is very responsive and sends lots of pictures! I love getting the updates on what they are doing during the day.”
“Super nice with me and my cats. Helpful along the way (they helped me bring them up and down). They sent pictures/video of them to see how they interacted. Very good first experience!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Stephanie! She took amazing care of Remi for the day, sending lots of pictures and updates to keep me in the loop. You can be completely at ease knowing your pets are being loved and cared for by her and her family. Highly recommend!”

About: I've had dogs for the last 20 years, usually with four in the house at a time. We've had a Shih-tzu, three Jack-Shih-tzus, a Great Pyrenees, and now a solo Maltie-Poo named Dozer. Every dog I meet is a new friend, and I have to admit that I knew the names of all the dogs in my last neighborhood, and like maybe three of the owners names. Happy to walk active dogs that need long walks. For doggy day care and boarding we have to restrict it to small dogs because our own small dog is picky about which larger dogs he likes. Other animals: I've also taken care of farm animals. Dairy cows and calves, and feeding chickens and putting them in for the night. I've kept both freshwater and marine tanks and can check up on your fish or your reef while you're away. No worrying about your niece or nephew dumping a whole container of bug bites into the tank while you're gone and causing an ammonia spike. I've also kept constrictors and colubrids (but not currently), crested geckos, and dart frogs, and am familiar with the husbandry of each. I have a flexible schedule and am in between writing contracts at the moment so have lots of time available for scheduling check-ins and walks for local puppers. I can check-on and feed pets as needed, dispense necessary meds, walk them from your home, or load them in the car and take them to the Cataraqui Trail for longer walks / more active dogs.

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your McCarleys Corners commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
