About: I've spent years caring for family pets, street dogs, and babysitting friends' dogs and cats back home in India. I genuinely love being around animals and find so much joy in their companionship and unconditional love. My experience ranges from playful pups to mellow seniors, and I always treat every pet like my own. Whether it's a walk, playtime, or quiet cuddles, I’m here to make your pet feel safe, loved, and happy. I work from home, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m able to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just some cozy company. Having pets around makes my day better, and I love being able to care for them without needing to rush or squeeze them into a busy schedule. I prioritize their routine, comfort, and safety above all else. I'll follow your instructions closely—from feeding schedules and walk times to any special needs or habits your pet has. Most importantly, I make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and relaxed in their home away from home.
“Highly recommend Mya! She did two one-hour walks with our two separate dogs, and they instantly warmed up to her and felt completely comfortable. Mya has a fantastic personality and is trustworthy. We loved getting the beautiful photos and update card after the walks, and she even brought along treats and water for them. We will definitely be using her services again!”

“This is my first time using this app and it was a great experience! Maybelle was very responsive and took our pup for a 60 minute walk and sent some pictures ❤️ 💯 would recommend and will rebook in the future!”

About: I've cared for animals my whole life. I grew up with my Bernese Mountain Dog, who's been by my side since I was young, and I also have a cat of my own. On top of that, I regularly look after my girlfriend's cat, as well as my friends' dogs whenever they need a hand. Caring for animals isn't just something I do, it's something I've always done, and I genuinely love it. I'm a Human Kinetics student at the University of Ottawa and a varsity athlete with the Gee-Gees. Balancing the demands of student-athlete life has taught me how to manage my schedule effectively, and even with all that on my plate, I still make plenty of time to care for animals. On top of my studies and training, I also run my own sewing business, which reflects the same discipline and reliability I bring to everything I do. When I'm in a client's home, I always respect their space and follow their pet's established routine as closely as possible — sticking to their regular feeding times, walking schedule, and any specific instructions the owner gives me. I pay close attention to each animal's body language and comfort level, especially with pets I'm meeting for the first time, and I make sure all doors, gates, and leashes are secure before heading out or leaving them unattended. My background in Human Kinetics has also given me a solid understanding of how physical activity and rest affect overall well-being, which I apply to make sure every dog gets an appropriate amount of exercise for their age, breed, and energy level never pushing them too hard, but making sure they get what they need.
“Caitlin is incredibly kind and very communicative! Walking my dog, I know my pup is in good hands. She asks questions to understand the routine and is prompt and attentive and caring. You would be lucky to have Caitlin take care of your pup!”

“Would 100% book Eric again. He was on time and cheerful (in spite of the very cold and snowy weather). He and Winnie really hit it off and I could tell she had a great time on the walks. Thanks Eric!”

About: I love hanging out with pets and giving them lots of attention, play and care. While I have only owned guinea pigs growing up, I am lucky enough to have friends and family who allow me to look after their pets (cats and dogs of all the personalities). I am patient, responsible, and always happy to learn what makes your pet feel safe and comfortable. I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention and love while you’re away. I am a student and able to structure my day according to the pet's needs. I can basically work from anywhere, so that will make it easy to adapt. However, I do usually not accept engagements for more than one week at a time. I enjoy spending time with cats and dogs, and playing with them. I can care for your pet in your home or taking them out for walks, making sure that they get plenty of love and attention, and giving you updates on how they're doing.
“Chantal was a great help walking our dog Marcy. She came ahead of time to meet Marcy and communicated well before, during and after the visit - including sharing lots of photos :) We would definitely book with Chantal again.”

About: Growing up with two pets, I have always been around cats and dogs growing up, and since moving out from Toronto to Ottawa I've been hoping to help out some pets in need of love, company and some walks! I have experience walking and visiting all kinds of pets, whether that be anxious or reactive, senior or baby. Always feel free to send me a message with some info about your pet! I'm currently in my third year at uOttawa and most of my classes are online or in the afternoon, which leaves me with a lot of free time in the morning/afternoon and evening to take care of and walk your pet! And not to toot my own horn, but I've been told I have a great track record of communication, so you can expect me to send updates/ photos with every visit so you have that peace of mind!! As a university student, I find myself with a lot of free time! My classes typically are online, which allow me to have a lot of flexibility with walking times and drop ins! Like in my headline, I want to treat your pet like my own. They deserve the same amount of love, respect, and attention. If I were to enter your house, I would make sure I am efficient, make as minimal mess/noise as possible, and in general make it a fun process. I also believe that communication between you and I is important. I'd love to chat and go over any specific needs your pet might have, and always appreciate any extra messages throughout the time to update me!
About: I’ve loved pets my whole life and recently said goodbye to our 16‑year‑old rescue terrier, Chrissy. She had Cushing’s disease, so I’m very familiar with caring for slower, senior dogs who need patience and gentle walks. I’ve also had more active family dogs over the years and love getting out for walks with pups of all sizes and energy levels. Spending time with dogs truly makes me happiest. I work from home, which gives me the flexibility to incorporate dog walking easily into my daily routine. I already enjoy getting out for a daily walk, so caring for dogs fits in naturally. I’m consistently available on Mondays, Fridays, and some weekends, with additional availability on certain evenings. This flexibility allows me to give your dog reliable, attentive care. When walking dogs, I focus on making each experience safe, comfortable, and enjoyable based on their individual needs. Whether your dog prefers a slow, relaxed walk or a more active outing, I adjust to their pace and energy level. I’m experienced with both senior dogs who need a gentler approach and more active dogs who enjoy longer walks. I always prioritize safety, positive interaction, and making sure your dog feels happy and cared for.
“Laura has been wonderful with our Corgi every week. She is quick to respond to requests and has been dependable and trustworthy. She is someone who genuinely loves animals and she’s so good with Griffin. Thank goodness for her to be there for our sweet boy.”

Caitlin was great! We have an older pup that needs a little extra luv and sometimes walks a bit slower. Caitlin walked and fed her while we were away 2 days was very responsive and clearly cares for dogs and meets them were they are re needs . Highly recommend.

I can't thank Amy enough for her fantastic, adaptable approach to walking our large breed dog for a few weeks while our regular dog walker was away. Amy was immediately comfortable and confident with our dog and she knew just what to do to provide enrichment to him on extra hot days when he didn't want to walk very far. Amy sent us very thorough updates that were so fun to read, along with lovely photos. I recommend Amy without hesitation!

I am so happy to have been connected with Ciel. She is so reliable, responsible and caring. We are booking with her repeatedly to walk our dog and we appreciate how much she cares about our dog. She is very good communicating with us, lets us know what is going on and take ls great photos of their adventures. Thanks for being such an amazing friend to join

Sinéad was amazing with our boy, so caring and involved, always going above and beyond with him and leaving very detailed summaries of their walks together and including the cutest pictures. Always great communication with her shifting things around to make both schedules work flawlessly. It was always a peace of mind knowing our puppy was in the best hands. So grateful for the wonderful care!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ottawa choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
