About: I’ve always grown up around pets, with my family having two toy poodles (as well as a couple fish) as part of our home. My extended family and close friends have always had dogs too, including Labrador retrievers, wiener dogs and terriers, amongst other pets like cats, birds and rodents! I work full-time from home, and the thought of having a furry, loving friend to cozy up to all day makes me excited! Despite spending time working out, taking in a movie at the theatre or enjoying time with friends, I’m more of a home body who loves being in my own space. I’m all about safety and ensuring my pets are watched over at all times. My place has several doors before you can exit outside, and I would never take my pet off-leash unless it was in a gated, secure area.

“This is my first time using this app and it was a great experience! Maybelle was very responsive and took our pup for a 60 minute walk and sent some pictures ❤️ 💯 would recommend and will rebook in the future!”

“Tasha is caring, competent and reliable with walking our puppy. Our puppy is very happy each time Tasha comes to the door, and watches sadly when she leaves after their walk. Good communicator and easy to work with. Very satisfied!”

“Caitlin is incredibly kind and very communicative! Walking my dog, I know my pup is in good hands. She asks questions to understand the routine and is prompt and attentive and caring. You would be lucky to have Caitlin take care of your pup!”

“Would 100% book Eric again. He was on time and cheerful (in spite of the very cold and snowy weather). He and Winnie really hit it off and I could tell she had a great time on the walks. Thanks Eric!”

“Insiya took great care of our miniature schnauzer, Bowser! He came back from his walks so happy! She was kind, friendly, punctual and had great communication throughout. Would definitely use her services again! Thanks so much, Insiya!”

About: I love hanging out with pets and giving them lots of attention, play and care. While I have only owned guinea pigs growing up, I am lucky enough to have friends and family who allow me to look after their pets (cats and dogs of all the personalities). I am patient, responsible, and always happy to learn what makes your pet feel safe and comfortable. I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention and love while you’re away. I am a student and able to structure my day according to the pet's needs. I can basically work from anywhere, so that will make it easy to adapt. However, I do usually not accept engagements for more than one week at a time. I enjoy spending time with cats and dogs, and playing with them. I can care for your pet in your home or taking them out for walks, making sure that they get plenty of love and attention, and giving you updates on how they're doing.
“Laura is awesome! She was wonderful with Griffin and she’s very caring, trustworthy and reliable. I would definitely recommend her! She walked out Corgi three times a week and even came to dogsit for us one night. She’s fantastic!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ottawa
Billie is our longtime, trusted pet sitter. We knew he was the right fit for our fur family the first time he ever sat for us when I received a text update that he sang 'Hey Jude' to our dog as a way to ease her anxiety. He is attentive, detail oriented and our pets love him. We have a full house with a dog, two cats and a rabbit and Billie is able to tend to all of their individual needs with ease. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone who is in need of a caring and professional pet sitter.

Brianna was fantastic! She was super flexible and accommodating in meeting up prior to walking Beans so that I could provide her with a key, show her where things would be left, and most importantly to meet Beans! Beans is usually nervous around strangers so I was shocked when he didn’t bark and was happy to meet her. Brianna is very friendly, I loved that she asked lots of questions about Beans and where he typically likes to walk. I am happy to continue booking with her and have actually recommended her to a friend! Thanks again Brianna 😊

Camille was great!! She was happy to meet up prior to walking beans so that I could show her where everything would be left as well as for her to meet him! Camille asked great questions and provided updates after the walk. I look forward to booking with her again in the future and have recommended her to a friend! Thanks again Camille 😊

I can't thank Amy enough for her fantastic, adaptable approach to walking our large breed dog for a few weeks while our regular dog walker was away. Amy was immediately comfortable and confident with our dog and she knew just what to do to provide enrichment to him on extra hot days when he didn't want to walk very far. Amy sent us very thorough updates that were so fun to read, along with lovely photos. I recommend Amy without hesitation!

I am so happy to have been connected with Ciel. She is so reliable, responsible and caring. We are booking with her repeatedly to walk our dog and we appreciate how much she cares about our dog. She is very good communicating with us, lets us know what is going on and take ls great photos of their adventures. Thanks for being such an amazing friend to join

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ottawa choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

- 85% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
