About: I've been working with dogs since I graduated from high school. I was a dog trainer not 4 years ago, and can help with any training that may be required/requested! I also have experience working in a shelter, so any trouble makers or anxious pups won't scare me away! I am currently on my summer break from university, which means I have lots of time to watch and play with your pet! I am offering to house sit for you at any time and for any length of time, or if you prefer drop in visits/walks around the neighborhood, I would love to help in any way I can. Any and all care I provide to your pet in your home is dictated and approved by you. I've worked with both dogs and cats who have moderate to severe dietary restrictions, as well as mobility issues, allowing for a more experienced sitter than others. They're safety and happiness is always my number one priority, and I will ensure they are given the best care available.

About: I grew up with tons of different pets in the house; from puppies to Guinea pigs and everything in between. I genuinely love spending my time with animals. Whether that be on a long sunny morning walk or cuddling on the couch with a good book in hand. I work fully remotely so my schedule is flexible. I have my own dog and she enjoys frequent sniffs outside and lots of cuddles, so I’m used to taking breaks. I have a lovely, friendly Pomeranian of my own who shares my home with me. I live near lots of walking trails and live a quiet, peaceful life.

About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 18 years and understand that every animal has their own unique personality and needs. I owned a beloved cat from 2008 to 2019 and have been a proud dog owner since 2020. Over the years, I’ve also cared for dogs and cats belonging to family members, providing feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, and lots of love and attention. As a lifelong animal lover, I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I’ll always treat your pet as if they were my own and keep you updated with photos and messages for extra peace of mind! I’m available throughout the summer and have a flexible schedule. I offer drop-in visits, dog walks, and can often accommodate last minute bookings. I’m always happy to answer messages throughout the day and will send regular photo and video updates, so you can see how your pet is doing and have peace of mind while you’re away! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my priority. I’ll follow your pet’s routine and any instructions you provide to help them feel comfortable while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I’ll also keep you updated with messages, photos, and videos so you always know how they’re doing.

About: Hi! My name is Karinne, but most people call me Kiwi (no, I am not from New Zealand!). I was born and raised in Ottawa, and now live in a house in Nepean with my partner and our 4-year old Miniature American Shepherd, Kali. We love being outside and being active, so your pet will get plenty of fresh air and exercise while being well-loved and well cared for. I started providing services on Rover in 2019 when we lived in an apartment building, but when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, my public health nursing job kept me busy and working long hours, so I had to take a break from Rover. Then we bought a house and got a puppy, and now that we are settled into our home and routines, I am excited to be back on Rover to support others and their pets! I grew up with a love of animals and pets (I literally still have two bins full of stuffed animals that I collected as a child and pretended I owned all the pets in the world). Even though I wasn't allowed to have my own dog as a child, I have always been surrounded by friends' and family's dogs my entire life, and I've often taken care of their pets during their vacations as if they were my own. My partner and I bought our first house and our first dog in the same year, and we've loved every minute of it! I am a Public Health Nurse and work most days from home, so my availability works around those days in-office (i.e. I won't book any walks, visits, or day care on days I am in the office). For any dog boarding, my partner works fully remote at home, so there is always someone in the house with the dogs even if I have to go into the office. We go on 3 walks a day with our dog Kali, ranging from 20 to 45 minutes depending on the time of day and weather. If it is storming, we often do enrichment or training indoors instead. On weekends we try to do longer adventures like a hike in Gatineau Park or swimming in the river! During our daily walks, our dog Kali walks very well on a leash and doesn't pull (until we get close to the neighbourhood park!). She is excellent at walking with other dogs, and generally just ignores them while walking. If your dog prefers to walk alone, that is not a problem! I can accommodate and leave our dog with my partner. Our house is a split-level home with a fully fenced backyard. Dogs will always be supervised while playing in the yard. During the day, Kali has free-range of the entire house and is allowed on furniture, but we are flexible and can accommodate different rules to meet your dog's needs. We also have different areas of the house that can be closed off if the dogs need a break from each other. Kali is crate-trained; she sleeps in her crate at night and eats all her meals in her crate. If we are caring for your dog in our house, we would do our best to ensure there is always someone home and stick to your dog's routines as much as possible.

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats of all sizes since I was a child, and I grew up in the countryside surrounded by animals (even saving wild rabbit litters more than once!). Additionally, I work part-time at a local pet store, where I've received extensive training in pet care and health. I have lots of flexibility around my schedule, but usually mornings or weekends (excluding Saturdays) work best for me! I'm always willing to move things around if needed. I have experience with crate-trained animals and free roamers. I’m open to any of your preferences regarding your pets' care, and will strive to maintain their routine. Part of my job requires completing Animal Care courses, so I have above-average knowledge regarding pet health and care. It's important to me to treat your pets the way you would, including working on any training or behaviours you've been working on at home! I also own a cat, but she is very friendly and well-socialized, so I'll take any preferences regarding her interactions with your animal into consideration while they stay with me. I want you to feel comfortable knowing your baby is well cared for so you can enjoy your time while they're away.

I have been so happy and relieved to have Wendy walking my precious girl Luna. From our first meet and greet I felt comfortable and confident that Luna was in good hands. Wendy always showed up on time and never cuts the hour walk short. Luna was so excited to see Wendy when she picked her up. Not being able to walk my Luna due to physical issues was really difficult so having Wendy made my situation less stressful for me. I will certainly book again with Wendy if I need a dog walker again. Thanks Wendy you were wonderful with Luna!

Norma was so good with Stevie. She built a really great rapprt with Stevie and encouraged her to sniff, roll, and socialize while they walked so Stevie came home happy and tired. Norma was also really patient with technical issues in the building and went above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. Thank you so much Norma ~ Stevie can't wait for your next visit! 😊

Very sweet, she always takes such amazing care of my dogs. Is the sweetest walker I’ve ever had, takes many pictures while on walks, or house sittings so I can see my dogs. Always asks permission if my dogs are allowed certain treats. I would 110% recommend her if you need your dog taken care of. 10/10

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bells Corners choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
