“Lindsay did a great job with Mika, even working on her "physical therapy" exercise Mika had just started. She sent lots of photos and a video and the house was clean and in order when I returned.”

“This was our first time leaving our dogs with someone other than family. From our first meet and greet to her stay Cindy was amazing. She asked questions, allowed the dogs space to approach h her on their own time and left me feeling like I could confidently go away and not worry. Cindy sent us lots of updates and was able to navigate any hiccups with ease. We will be rebooking with her and would highly recommend Cindy to care for your pets while you are away.”

About: I've been working with dogs since I graduated from high school. I was a dog trainer not 4 years ago, and can help with any training that may be required/requested! I also have experience working in a shelter, so any trouble makers or anxious pups won't scare me away! I am currently on my summer break from university, which means I have lots of time to watch and play with your pet! I am offering to house sit for you at any time and for any length of time, or if you prefer drop in visits/walks around the neighborhood, I would love to help in any way I can. Any and all care I provide to your pet in your home is dictated and approved by you. I've worked with both dogs and cats who have moderate to severe dietary restrictions, as well as mobility issues, allowing for a more experienced sitter than others. They're safety and happiness is always my number one priority, and I will ensure they are given the best care available.
“We have used Erica multiple times now and she is awesome! Our dog gets the royal treatment with Erica which makes going away on holiday worry free. Thanks Erica you are great!”

About: I’ve had two dogs my entire childhood and took in a senior rescue dog named Maggie, so I have experience with dogs from puppies to seniors. I have trained two dogs and love taking care of my friends and families’ dogs. Pet care fits very well into my daily routine because I have completed school for summer and am umemployed. This allows me to dedicate a of time and attention to the pets in my care. I'm available throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and potty breaks, and I can adapt to each pet's specific needs. I am super flexible and I enjoy spending time with animals since I am around one already 24/7(my dog Jessie). I am very attentive and trustworthy and I love to take dogs on walks often. Your dog's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I follow each pet owner's instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication needs, exercise routines, and any special requirements.
“Deborah went above and beyond with her care and time with our old pup and with our home during the 7 days that she was here. Plenty of walks and cuddle time were part of their routine. Our house was spotless when we returned. Communication including pictures of our pup was wonderful. We will absolutely invite her to dog sit for us again.”

“Lorraine is amazing! This is the second time she has stayed at our house with our dogs. We have 3 dogs (including a 6 month old puppy) and when we returned home from vacation, our dogs were happy, content and exhausted from all the walks Lorraine took them on. It gives us such peace of mind to know they’re in great hands with Lorraine.”
“Savannah took great care of my dog Bailey for an overnight stay. I received lots of updates and pics and returned home to a happy pup and very clean home. Bailey was immediately at ease and comfortable with Savannah and I would definitely ask her to sit again.”

“I don’t know if we can fully express the praise we have for Melanie’s absolute care and love of our dog and our daughter’s two cats while we were away for 9 days. Our 3 pets are lovable and quirky and Melanie loved on them as her own. So much so that I will need to step up my dog walks. Our 8 year old dog Xochi is a rescue we adopted in 2020 and for our last trip in 2022 we boarded him in a lovely kennel but even that was too much for him. To have him in his own home and surroundings was important to us and finding the right person was equally important. We hit gold with Melanie. This is not a cheap option and likely not something you do often but the peace of mind we had while we were away and pictures and videos received were priceless to us. You will not go wrong with Melanie. Thank you Melanie!!”

“Megan was amazing with our doberman and cat for in home pet sitting. My dog is hesitant when people care for her as she has some separation anxiety, but she was very comfortable with Megan on our meet and greet was I was able to travel without worrying about my pets, they were well taken care of. My dog also gets medication multiple times a day and this was not an issue. I highly recommend Megan for pet sitting.”

About: I have taken care of one small dog and one large dog at the same time. I loved going on walks with them, (even during Canadian winter temps!), and playing together at home and the dog park was lots of fun! I have spent much time around the dogs of my friends and family members and would love to spend time taking care of your small or medium sized pup. I am comfortable with feeding, walking and any other dog care chores required for the well-being of your doggie! I currently work in a casual position at the hospital, and therefore have several days off throughout the week where I would be able to spend entire days with your dog or cat! On days that I do work, I am happy to visit/live-in with your pet(s) outside of my work hours. My schedule is flexible however, so please let me know what your preferences are. When I have cared for pets in the past, the owners have always provided me with anything I need for the dogs/cats, including food, toys, leashes, doggie bags, litterbox supplies, and of course, treats. I feel comfortable caring for your pets using anything they are familiar with on a normal basis so that it does not interrupt their routine too much. I also like to keep in touch with the owners throughout my time taking care of their pets, sending pictures and updates whenever possible.

“I would highly recommend Celia for dog sitting. We have two aussies, including an 18 month old who is new to us and has serious anxiety issue especially with visitors to the house. Celia came by for a meet and greet prior to our trip and Brandy settled nicely for her within a few minutes Celia sent us upates daily and was very responsive to our queries. We were so pleased to arrive home to two very happy pups.”

“Katryna did a fantastic job housesitting my dog Bailey for 4 days. She communicated well and provided daily updates and pictures and went above and beyond to keep Bailey on her regular schedule. It was such a relief to know Bailey was in such good hands with Katryna and I wouldn't hesitate to book her again. I came home to a happy pup and a clean home.”

“We’re so happy with Jennifer with the way she took care of Bella for two weeks. She exhibited compassion and empathy with our fourteen year old that had some special needs. With her attention to detail, we highly recommend Jennifer.”

“Julie was awesome! Took great care of my two cats. She sent lots of photos and updates and left the house clean. I would definitely recommend Julie and will have her sit again. Thanks Julie!”

Lori is an amazing pet sitter, and Oscar truly loves his "Auntie Lori." She is incredibly reliable and a great communicator, always keeping us updated. Lori goes above and beyond to provide the best days ever with great walks, lots of playtime, and endless love. Receiving fun photo updates warmed our hearts and gave us total peace of mind. We are so happy Oscar has Auntie Lori in his life! Carol, Andy, and Oscar

Megan came out for a meet and greet and then a trial walk before she spent a week looking after our dog, cats and home. Our dog seemed to really click with Megan. Megan was even able to make some progress over the week with our shy kitty Ruby. Thanks Megan for looking after our pets and our home!

Victoria looked after our cat and dog will we were away for a 2-week trip. We received almost daily photos and updates of what our two fur children were doing which we loved receiving. We will definitely ask her to watch our babies again. She is trust-worthy and caring. We could not have found anyone better!

Meri was absolutely amazing. She followed instructions perfectly in regards to both my dogs. Meri provided frequent updates via messages, videos and pictures which is always appreciated. And as a bonus she left the house in perfect condition, couldn’t event tell she was ever there. We are very much appreciative of Meri and her hard work and we look forward to continuing to work with her plenty!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bells Corners maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bells Corners walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bells Corners choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
