“Nous ferons certainement appel à Catherine de nouveau. On pouvait facilement constater à notre retour que notre chien l'aimait beaucoup et qu'elle avait été très attentionné avec lui.”

“This was our first time with Harrison and it won’t be our last. We could see that our dog Yahtzee was extremely well taken care of. Harrison is a gem! We totally recommend him.”

“Lisette is a very vibrant and passionate sitter, and it really shows that she cares about what she does. Missy can be anxious when I leave and Lisette was gentle, attentive and affectionate with her, clearly took the time to make Missy feel comfortable and secure. I returned home to a calm and relaxed cat and a happy dog. I really appreciated the kindness she showed my pets and would gladly book with her again.”

“Chayse took very good care of my cat Mouchou. She was also Housesitting and kept my place very clean. When I returned, Mouchou was in good spirits which tell me that she was well cared for! I would highly recommend Chayse as a pet/house sitter.”

About: I've often pet-sat for friends and family since I was 13. My parents weren't too keen on adopting any animals. But, I did find joy in loving and spending time with my friend's furry buddies. I’ve primarily taken care of cats, yet, leave me with a fun and friendly doggo, and we're golden! I love to play and snuggle with animals, yet I also respect their level of comfort and space when needed. My house is kept quite clean and organized, and there is enough space for different size of animals within the apartment. Update: I am now available for at-home visits :D. I work from home as a freelance graphic designer, so my schedule is completely flexible! I'm also available to make house visits to look after you pet for long periods, whilst working from my laptop during extended visits. I live with a wonderful roommate in a very bright and spacious 4 1/2 apartment that allows pets in the building. I have experience with making sure that my furry friends take their medication/ supplements as scheduled. Please inform me of any specific medication regiment or allergies that I should be away of. For any emergencies, I would require contact info from your preferred vet. I also live two blocks away from the Côte St Luc Hospital For Animals.
“Viktoria was great! Our dog has separation anxiety, and being away from me is hard for him. Viktoria was patient and very understanding. Overall, really trustworthy experience, especially as it was our first time doing an in-home stay. Thanks again!”

About: Cats have been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. I owned my own cat for years, which gave me a deep understanding of feline behavior, needs, and quirks. Over the years, I have cat-sat for friends and family on dozens of occasions — visiting their homes to feed, play with, and keep their cats company while they were traveling. I always treat every cat as if it were my own. One of my most meaningful experiences was helping nurse a litter of premature kittens that needed to be bottle-fed every three hours around the clock. It required patience, dedication, and a lot of love — but seeing them grow into healthy cats made it all worthwhile. I also have experience rescuing stray and injured kittens from the street and nursing them back to health before finding them safe homes. I create my profile specifically to care for other people's cats because, although I adore them, I am unable to have one at home right now. This means your cat gets all of my attention and affection — without any distractions. You can trust that your furry family member will be in caring, experienced, and loving hands. I am flexible and can adapt to your cat's routine. Whether you need daily visits, drop-ins while you're on a trip, or regular check-ins, I'm happy to work around your schedule. I am available on weekdays and weekends, mornings and evenings. Since I'm not bringing your cat home (I visit at your place), there is no disruption to their familiar environment — which cats especially appreciate! Your cat's safety and comfort are my top priority. I always visit cats in their own home so they stay in a familiar, stress-free environment. I follow feeding instructions precisely, keep litter boxes clean, and make sure your cat has fresh water at all times. I'm experienced with shy and nervous cats as well as playful and social ones — I know how to read feline body language and give each cat the space or attention they need. I have hands-on experience with delicate situations including nursing premature kittens and caring for injured rescues, so I am calm and prepared if anything unexpected comes up.

About: I grew up with 30+ bunnies in my backyard, and had 3 cats. My mom still has 2 rescued dogs and 4 rescued cats and 1 bird that i babysit sometimes while working from home. I currently live with my sister that has a small pugchi mix so i’m used to being the babysitter for her as well when she goes to work or on trips. I took care of 2 ex-boyfriend’s dogs that were a german shepherd and a golden retriever. I work from home 100% of the time (so I can stay for as long as needed and give your home and furry friends all the love and attention they deserve!) All i need is for you to have reliable Wi-Fi i can connect to in order to work. Im able to give your pet attention throughout the whole day and go for potty breaks when needed. Walks would be before work, during lunchbreak and after work. I speak FR and EN. I can give you updates and pictures as much as you need to feel like your baby is safe. I’m a very calm person and would be working on my computer wether it’s a weekday or weekend so your home is in good hands. I can also do a house clean for a fee if you’re interested.
“I couldn't have asked for better care for my pets while I was away. They were well looked after happy and comfortable, which gave me piece of mind. Communication was great and it was clear that my animals were in caring and capable hands. I would happily book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter.”

About: I have lot of practice caring for all types of animals, as well as animal training experience. Comfortable working with small and large dogs and cats. My schedule is very flexible. I will be able to accommodate any times that meet you're needs. I am available monday to sunday and most holidays. I live in a home with a large yard that is fenced in perfect for fetch and other outdoor activites. I have plently of space for a crate indoors if needed pets are welcomed to roam free as well.
“Our pets were clearly very cared for and received lots of attention. They felt comfortable from the first meet & greet and enjoyed the weekend. Thanks again for everything”

“Ekaterina est géniale! Trouver quelqu'un de confiance pour garder un chien anxieux et réactif envers les étrangers peut être difficile, mais son expérience en comportement canin m'a beaucoup rassuré. C'est une vraie professionnelle, en plus d'être toujours sympathique :) Je la recommande chaudement.”

“Irmak was a wonderful petsitter and housesitter! She was wonderful with our little dog Olive. She stayed in regular communication with us, which really set our minds at ease while we were away. She provided the best care and we're so happy to have found her! Thanks again!”

“Madeleine and Fred took to each other immediately, making me feel incredibly at ease with leaving them together for a couple of hours! Madeleine's bubbly, animated, and friendly personality is particularly endearing, and her can-do attitude makes me confident in knowing that Fred is being left in good/capable hands! Would 10/10 rebook!”

“Ilya took amazing care of our home and our 2 cats Loki and Nyx. They stayed with our cats for 5 nights and gave us regular updates/pictures. I would highly recommend Ilya!”

Mehak was wonderful dogsitter for our 17 year old Heidi! Mehak was great with her, taking her for several walks each day, as well as playing and just chilling with her. She sent us daily updates with photos over the 10 days she took care of Heidi. Mehak was also very respectful of our home, bringing her own food, cleaning up, and leaving the house spotless. Wish she wasn't moving, otherwise we would have zero reservation about using Meehak again!

Lisette is a very vibrant and passionate sitter, and it really shows that she cares about what she does. Missy can be anxious when I leave and Lisette was gentle, attentive and affectionate with her, clearly took the time to make Missy feel comfortable and secure. I returned home to a calm and relaxed cat and a happy dog. I really appreciated the kindness she showed my pets and would gladly book with her again.

I highly recommend him as a pet sitter! He stayed with our dog and two cats for 3 days and took excellent care of them. Our dog has separation anxiety, so we were nervous about leaving him, but he quickly made him feel comfortable and well cared for. He kept us updated throughout the stay, gave all of our pets plenty of attention and love, and made us feel at ease while we were away. We’re very grateful for the care he provided and would happily recommend him to others.

When I began looking for someone to care for my Odie, it was scary. After reviewing a few profiles (being the first time on the app), looking specifically for experience in senior dogs, I came across Lorenzo. We met just before my work trip, I explained to him what I needed essentially was to clone myself. I explained how I care for Odie, being that at this point he was no longer walking, and it was more hospice care and keeping him comfortable (pain managed), clean (diapers checked, and changed regularly), and loved (pets, and lots of belly rubs and ear scratches). Lorenzo truly came to the rescue in our house and rose to the occasion. Everyone who was in the house but could not care for Odie on their own: my mom, my grandmother, and even my grandma's caregivers were telling me how good Lorenzo was, that I picked perfectly. My only regret is not coming across him sooner. He gave me updates regularly, and spent lots of time with Odie. I would recommend Lorenzo to anyone looking to care for their pet - your loved one would benefit from exceptional love and care. 5stars.

Vladyslava was amazing! She stayed at our home for a week to watch our dog and cat. Our dog, Boba, is a very anxious pup, so it did take some time for her to adjust, but Vladyslava took the time to work with Boba and had many options to work with her. Boba did come around and had a great time going for walks and hanging out in the sunshine. Vladyslava left the home very clean and clearly respected our space. We will definitely have Vladyslava back again to watch our furbabies.

Megan is absolutely wonderful. We left our rescue who is not the easiest to care for with her over the holidays and felt completely at ease knowing she was experienced with reactive dogs. She sent us tons of photos every day, and left our apartment spotless. Would recommend her to anyone, she is a true gem. She was also flexible and able to stay longer when our flight home got canceled. So happy to have found her and will be booking her again without hesitation!
Sarah is a responsive and responsible sitter. We had flight cancellations that prevented us from making it home on time, and she graciously offered to extend the duration of her visits so we could rest assure our cats were OK. THANK YOU Sarah for making a stressful situation much less stressful! Our cats were happy and the apartment was as we left it!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Montréal-Ouest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Montréal-Ouest walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Montréal-Ouest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
