About: Since the age of 8 years old our household always had a pet. I had guinea pigs growing up, birds, fish and then we got our dog that we had for 14 years. I currently have a guinea pig that I rescued from the SPCA. I'm self employed and I am a super active person. I'm always walking on the canal during breaks to stay moving. In addition, my office is also my home base so I'm always around! I always approach animals softly, making sure they feel trusted by me. I know some dogs can be nervous and don't love meeting new people, so I always try to approach calmly until they know me!
“Due to life changes, we recently had to find someone to walk our dog, Altaïr four times a week. Umut was very responsive and proactive from the beginning. He won Altaïr over in two days. Now, when Altaïr sees him, he gets super excited for his walk. They go on 1 hr long walks, and Altaïr comes back calm and happy. Altaïr is trained but he can be a little reactive sometimes, yet Umut has managed this very well. We (and Altaïr) definitely recommend Umut, be it for a one time walk, or recurring ones!!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and have experience caring for dogs, hamsters, and birds since I was very young. Growing up with pets taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and understanding each animal’s unique personality and needs. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have regularly looked after dogs and cats for family members and family friends. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, administering basic care, or simply providing companionship, I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to provide reliable, attentive care and give pet owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members are in good hands. As a student with a flexible schedule, I’m able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and overnight pet sitting, and I do my best to accommodate each pet’s routine. Whether your pet needs a midday walk, regular check-ins while you’re away, or overnight companionship, I strive to provide reliable and consistent care. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in their own home, I make every effort to maintain their normal routine and keep their environment calm and familiar. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, exercise, medications, and household rules. I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust, and I treat both your pets and your home with the utmost respect while providing attentive, loving care.
About: English // Français: Entirely bilingual // Entièrement bilingue -- French follows below I basically grew up around animals; my mother is a vet, and when I was a kid I'd beg to go to her clinic with her and take care of all the dogs and cats. I've spent time volunteering at her clinic, helping care for animals and becoming comfortable around pets with different needs. She's taught me how to recognize that a pet may not be feeling well, how to respond appropriately, how to administer oral medications, and how to know when it would be important to contact the owner. She is also the reason I am incredibly comfortable around any and all kinds of animals. I've cared for dogs of different ages, sizes, personalities, and energy levels, and I'm happy to adapt my care to each pet's individual needs. I have never met a pet I didn't immediately love, and you can expect plenty of photo updates... Finding the right angle is my favourite activity! I will make sure to keep your furry friend safe, accompanied, and happy, whether this be on walks or while house sitting! My goal as a dog sitter / walker is to make sure that you as an owner feel at ease knowing your fluff-ball is in caring and capable hands, and that your pet is happy and safe. Please don't hesitate to contact me for any information at all! I reply quickly, my schedules are very flexible, and I would love to hear about your pets and whether I'd be a good fit for them. See you soon! I own a dog myself, so I am no stranger to the feeding, walking, and cleaning routines that come with owning a pet. All I need are a few clear instructions on how you'd like me to care for your pet, and I will get right to it. For any service I offer, I make sure I properly get to know your pet as one of my own, and I can easily take to adapting to their living rhythms. I understand how stressful it can be for a pet to suddenly have a new person around, so remaining within their comfort zone stays my priority as an adaptable sitter to make sure they're as happy as possible.
“My goodness, Maire is truly exceptional. I have a very energetic Bernedoodle puppy, and she handles her with such patience, and ease. Ru absolutely adores her, and so do I. I recently had an unexpected emergency, and Maire stepped in without hesitation to care for Ru in my absence. That kind of reliability and heart means everything. She has the calmest, sweetest spirit, and you can genuinely feel how much she loves animals. I cannot recommend Maire highly enough. She is a gift. 🐶✨”

About: I have taken care of my roommates pets since 2022, meaning I have 4 years of petsitting experience with dogs and cats. From potty walks to long playdates to ensuring giving elderly pets medicine on time, I am an organized and responsible animal lover who will ensure your pet's safety while making them feel loved and taken care of! I currently have a flexible schedule so most weekdays and weekends, mornings or evenings work as long as I am given at least 1 day notice! I ensure I know where they are at all times. I check on them intentionally and frequently to confirm there's no symptoms of discomfort or any general problem. I set alarms for their needs such as food, water, walks, medicine, etc. I pet them and play with them as much as they and their owners allow me!
About: I've sat for dogs, cats, fish, and rabbits throughout my life. I am particularly used to caring for dogs, having raised two family dogs. Experienced with hard leash tuggers, puppies, senior dogs, training, playtime, and of course petting. My top priority is keeping your dog happy and safe. I'm currently available full time this summer. I'm flexible for any time or duration, weekdays or weekends. Let me know your needs and we can make it work. I'm careful to keep an eye on your pet even when they're resting. I am always respectful of my surroundings and try to leave things looking the same when I leave. I hope to build a great rapport with your dog and keep it fun for them.

“Eve is amazing! She spent lots of time with my girl playing and having fun. She took extra care to point out a scratch (which was already there!) just in case, which to me showed how much she cares. She shared lots of great pics too :) highly recommend!”

About: Dogs have always had a very special place in my heart. I grew up with Labradors and Boxers in my family home, and everyday was a very fun adventure 🐾 I’m the person who will happily stop mid-convo to say hi or pet a dog 🐶 and I’ve become the unofficial dog sitter for friends and family over the years. My current situation doesn’t allow me to own a dog unfortunately 🙃 But I have SO much love to give to your furry child - this includes way too many belly rubs, and making sure your pup feels safe, happy and very loved ❤️ So if you’re looking for someone to spoil your dog while you’re away, or take them out for a good walk, I’m your girl! 🐾 Fun fact: I’m also a professional photographer, which means your dog may accidentally leave with a small modelling portfolio 📸 Je parle aussi français. Au plaisir! Natascha I work from home on weekdays, which means I have a lot of flexibility. I can accommodate early mornings, late evenings and weekends as well 🐾 Communication, reliability and trust is key when taking care of your furry child, and that’s exactly what I bring to the table. My current living situation doesn’t allow me to bring big dogs in my apartment, but I’ll happily walk yours and/or dog sit if needed ❤️

“Annie helped us with dog walks while I had to reduce walking due to an injury. She was super reliable, friendly, and took care with our shy and skittish little dog. We recommend her without reservation.”

I can give your pets walks, feed them, play with them, and update with you. I live in an apartment downtown where I don't have pets.

I’m typically home during the day and able to provide consistent attention, playtime, and companionship. I live in a clean, calm, child-free apartment. I don’t currently have pets of my own, so your pet will have a quiet and dedicated space. I always make sure dogs are safely leashed and walked in familiar, pet-friendly areas. About: I've grown up with large dogs my entire life, and don't mind handling one that is a bit more on the energetic side. I've been around horses since I was 2-years old, and have done barn chores and taken care of them since I was 11. I can perform basic first-aid and provide medications as needed, and I am willing to learn about your pet and their needs/habits in order to do what I can to provide the best care! Currently, I am taking a class that runs Monday-Thursday morning from 8:30am-11am, and I take care of horses on the weekends from 7:30am-12:30pm. I would have availability throughout the day on most days to take care of pets and perform the tasks that are asked of me. I have a pretty flexible schedule and am able to come walk pets almost any hour of the day. I will keep your house tidy, and don't mind a little additional clean-up if it is required.
About: I have two cats and frequently find myself caring for other's pets too. I love all animals as my own and will take great care of your cuties and your place. In my interactions, I take your pet's lead in the amount of energy and attention they need from me, whether that is going for long walks up the mountain or having a quiet conversation on the couch. You can expect photos and updates after each visit! 💕 I have experience caring for dogs of various breeds and sizes and providing basic training via positive reinforcement learning. Additionally, I am an avid plant keeper and would be happy to maintain your plant collection or garden while you are away. Please note: If you request boarding services, your dog needs to be socialized with cats. I have a smallish fenced-in yard that can be set up to comfortably host a pup with in-and-out access. We would need to have a meet and greet with my cats in advance to see if it's a good fit. As a school educator who is off over the summer, I have a very open schedule during the day. This allows me to provide your pet with the frequent bathroom breaks, medication, and personalized attention they may need to stay happy and comfortable while you're away. I am careful to follow your instructions fully. I myself have regimented care instructions for my cats including doing ninja moves to make sure they do not escape outside as well as weighing their food to the gram and you can expect the same amount of care toward your cuties. I am knowledgeable about potential toxins to both cats and dogs and will make sure they stay clear of them. On walks, I am actively scanning the environment to spot potential dangers or keep your dog from being a street vacuum 😉
About: EN I am an animal lover to boot! In 2024, I had the privilege to start volunteering walking dogs for the elderly as a way to help seniors keep their companions. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Montréal
We recently hired Kendra to walk our dog a couple times on a day we knew we would be gone from early morning to late night. She was awesome, trustworthy, a great communicator, sent lots of pictures - our dog looked so happy on her walks. We had run out of doggy poop bags and she even walked our dog to the pet store to buy more. We would definitely hire Kendra again. Thank you Kendra!

Merci 🙏

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Sara! ❤️ She took such amazing care of our dog, Michka, and treated him with so much love, patience, and attention. She kept me updated, sent me photos and videos, and I could see how happy and comfortable Michka was with her. Sara is incredibly kind, responsible, trustworthy, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. She went above and beyond to make sure Michka was happy, safe, and well cared for. It gave me such peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I would recommend Sara without hesitation to anyone looking for someone reliable and caring for their pet. We will definitely contact her again whenever we need help with Michka. Thank you so much, Sara! 🐾❤️

Heather was so wonderful with our large lab. You can tell she really cares about the animals she takes care of and their specific needs and personalities. She was very communicative, and took lots of photos of our girl which was great because we were missing her a lot! Very grateful for Heather and will definitely be booking with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Montréal choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
