“Lynne is super special! I could tell that she was a dog person right away and my dog Poppy loved her as soon as they met! Lynne is thoughtful, considerate, responsible and so so kind to Poppy. I would highly recommend Lynne to anyone who is looking for an amazing caregiver for their pet! Thank you Lynne !”

“My goodness, Maire is truly exceptional. I have a very energetic Bernedoodle puppy, and she handles her with such patience, and ease. Ru absolutely adores her, and so do I. I recently had an unexpected emergency, and Maire stepped in without hesitation to care for Ru in my absence. That kind of reliability and heart means everything. She has the calmest, sweetest spirit, and you can genuinely feel how much she loves animals. I cannot recommend Maire highly enough. She is a gift. 🐶✨”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and have experience caring for dogs, hamsters, and birds since I was very young. Growing up with pets taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and understanding each animal’s unique personality and needs. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have regularly looked after dogs and cats for family members and family friends. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, administering basic care, or simply providing companionship, I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to provide reliable, attentive care and give pet owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members are in good hands. As a student with a flexible schedule, I’m able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and overnight pet sitting, and I do my best to accommodate each pet’s routine. Whether your pet needs a midday walk, regular check-ins while you’re away, or overnight companionship, I strive to provide reliable and consistent care. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in their own home, I make every effort to maintain their normal routine and keep their environment calm and familiar. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, exercise, medications, and household rules. I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust, and I treat both your pets and your home with the utmost respect while providing attentive, loving care.
About: I’ve been taking care of pets for longer than I can remember! Working at the Canine Club brought me great experience with caring for over 30 dogs at once, which included feed time, play time, and care. I worked overnights to insure the safety for each and every dog. Caring for animals brings me a new perspective on life, it feels me with so much joy and love! At the moment I work nights on the weekends and I’m not in school currently so I’m free for any of your pet friendly needs! I insure your animals get the loving and care they need while you’re away. I make sure they get to the walks they deserve and every ounce of my attention.
About: I had experience caring for a few friends' cats while they were away. I visited twice a day to feed the cat, provide fresh water, clean the litter box, and spend time playing and keeping the cat company. I understand how important it is to follow the owner's instructions carefully and make sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their own environment. I'm a patient, responsible, and detail-oriented person who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals. I treat every pet with kindness and care, and I'll always provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I currently only have a part-time job with a flexible schedule and can dedicate time to caring for your pets throughout the week. I'm available for drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I'll always make sure your pet receives the attention, care, and routine they are used to while you're away. When caring for pets in a client's home, I always follow the owner's instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication (if needed), and any specific routines. I make sure pets have fresh water, a clean environment, and plenty of attention and affection. I respect both your home and your pet's routine, and I'll provide updates and photos after each visit so you know your pet is safe and well cared for.
About: I've had the joy of caring for many pets over the years! My personal highlights definitely include a family friend's rambunctious little puppy and my own lovely two dogs and two cats as they've grown into old age. Now away at university, I've been missing long walks and playtime, and I'd love to get to know your pets! I'm available at all hours of the day to help care for your beloved pets! University will reclaim all my waking hours during finals season in a few months, but for now I'm free as a bird. I can comfortably administer medication at regular intervals, care for senior animals with special needs, give baths, and work with puppies on basic training. I don't shy away from messes or fur. I'll ensure your pet receives all the love and careful attention they need!

“Eve is amazing! She spent lots of time with my girl playing and having fun. She took extra care to point out a scratch (which was already there!) just in case, which to me showed how much she cares. She shared lots of great pics too :) highly recommend!”

About: I've grown up with large dogs my entire life, and don't mind handling one that is a bit more on the energetic side. I've been around horses since I was 2-years old, and have done barn chores and taken care of them since I was 11. I can perform basic first-aid and provide medications as needed, and I am willing to learn about your pet and their needs/habits in order to do what I can to provide the best care! Currently, I am taking a class that runs Monday-Thursday morning from 8:30am-11am, and I take care of horses on the weekends from 7:30am-12:30pm. I would have availability throughout the day on most days to take care of pets and perform the tasks that are asked of me. I have a pretty flexible schedule and am able to come walk pets almost any hour of the day. I will keep your house tidy, and don't mind a little additional clean-up if it is required.
“Great experience with Eloise! I had booked her for two scheduled walks while I was at work. She responds quickly, seemed very kind, and had no issues following my requests! Definitely recommend!”

About: When I lived with my parents, I took care of my puppy with my mom, we bought food and toys, gave her bath, walk and run with her a lot, clipped nails and brushed. Prefer drop-in visits to walk a dog, which I can do everyday except Wednesday. Prefer weekends, I'm typically free on Thursday afternoons, Saturdays, and Sundays. I can give your pets walks, feed them, play with them, and update with you. I live in an apartment downtown where I don't have pets.

“Annie helped us with dog walks while I had to reduce walking due to an injury. She was super reliable, friendly, and took care with our shy and skittish little dog. We recommend her without reservation.”

About: I have two cats and frequently find myself caring for other's pets too. I love all animals as my own and will take great care of your cuties and your place. In my interactions, I take your pet's lead in the amount of energy and attention they need from me, whether that is going for long walks up the mountain or having a quiet conversation on the couch. You can expect photos and updates after each visit! 💕 I have experience caring for dogs of various breeds and sizes and providing basic training via positive reinforcement learning. Additionally, I am an avid plant keeper and would be happy to maintain your plant collection or garden while you are away. Please note: If you request boarding services, your dog needs to be socialized with cats. I have a smallish fenced-in yard that can be set up to comfortably host a pup with in-and-out access. We would need to have a meet and greet with my cats in advance to see if it's a good fit. As a school educator who is off over the summer, I have a very open schedule during the day. This allows me to provide your pet with the frequent bathroom breaks, medication, and personalized attention they may need to stay happy and comfortable while you're away. I am careful to follow your instructions fully. I myself have regimented care instructions for my cats including doing ninja moves to make sure they do not escape outside as well as weighing their food to the gram and you can expect the same amount of care toward your cuties. I am knowledgeable about potential toxins to both cats and dogs and will make sure they stay clear of them. On walks, I am actively scanning the environment to spot potential dangers or keep your dog from being a street vacuum 😉
About: I have one super cute bunny and I have been taking loving care of her for about three years now. I have taken care of my neighbours’ and my friends’ cats and dogs over the past few years as well. Currently I am not taking any summer courses at McGill University, and therefore, I am free everyday. :) I can work anytime from Monday to Sunday. I am a very careful person and I will watch your pets with full attention. I am patient and I know some strategies to calm pets down.
“Karen was really nice. We did a little "meet and greet" where she came and got to know my dog a bit before taking her on a walk. She asked useful questions about her so I felt like she really cared about my pet. Definitely to recommend!”

About: EN I am an animal lover to boot! In 2024, I had the privilege to start volunteering walking dogs for the elderly as a way to help seniors keep their companions. It was wonderful and by 2025, I began working as a dog walker. I am particularly fond of senior dogs. 75% of my experience has been with dogs over the age of ten. I will treat your old man/lady with the love and care I’d want for my own. Message me, let’s chat and see how I can help you! And don’t worry if I seem too far away, I’m happy to travel anywhere within the island Please note that if your pet requires specialized treatment (24/7 company, timed medications, etc), rates will be adjusted accordingly. Thank you! Merci ! EN I offer house sitting, so I am fully available during the week and weekends. My schedule is very flexible. Let’s chat! I can also offer sliding scale, so if something is out of your budget, please reach out, I’d love to help :) FR Je propose le gardiennage de maison, donc je suis entièrement disponible pendant la semaine et les week-ends. Mon emploi du temps est très flexible. Discutons ! Je peux aussi proposer une échelle mobile, donc si quelque chose dépasse votre budget, veuillez me contacter, j’aimerais vous aider :) EN I don’t offer boarding as unfortunately my space doesn’t allow pets, but I am happy to house sit for you or just drop in whenever necessary. I offer basic care such as home cleaning, feeding, litter cleaning, walks, brushing, and companionship, but I am happy to administer medication as well.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Montréal
Eve is great! She is very sweet and her dog just loves her. She also took care of our three cockateels during vacation time and she was very caring and concerned that they were always OK. She is always on time and hardly misses a day. Very dedicated! I would recommend her 100%.

Heather is one of the most professional, sweetest, kind and caring dog walkers I’ve hired here. She really took the time to make sure she was a good fit for my baby’s care. When we met, she asked many relevant questions I didn’t even think about, and was taking lots of notes. I could easily tell that she really loved tending to animals. If you hire Heather, your pet will definitely be in good hands. I warmly recommend her!

Heather helped us with walks over the last few weeks and she was professional and easy to communicate with ! Our dog is not always perfectly behaved on walks but Heather seemed experienced and didn't have any issues with him. We hope to work with her again very soon!

Sara was amazing! She took such good care of our dog Bobo, taking him for a walk and making sure he was properly fed and hydrated. Our dog has separation anxiety but she made sure to make him comfortable and at ease. We highly recommend Sara and look forward to engaging her again when we visit Montreal next. Thank you Sara!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Montréal choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
