We recently hired Kendra to walk our dog a couple times on a day we knew we would be gone from early morning to late night. She was awesome, trustworthy, a great communicator, sent lots of pictures - our dog looked so happy on her walks. We had run out of doggy poop bags and she even walked our dog to the pet store to buy more. We would definitely hire Kendra again. Thank you Kendra!

About: I have experience with a variety of dogs, such as a German Shepherd + Black Labrador Retriever Mix, whom I fostered and trained from 4 weeks to 4 years; an adult German Shepherd + Pitbull + Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix, whom I fostered for 2 months and socialized (she came to us very afraid of people, primarily men); a Great Pyrenees puppy (~2-4 months old), whom I only fostered for a month, but was able to successfully leash, potty, and crate train; and most recently, a 3 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, whom I fostered for two years and crate trained, leash trained, recall trained (some off leash training, although due to breed regulations this was not tested in public settings), and socialized (to other dogs, high prey drive meant no cats)- this dog was adopted and is now a farm dog (notably, a livestock guardian dog, not herding- putting the high prey drive to use)! I am very partial to American Staffordshire Terriers and bully mixes, and thus have a lot of experience with this breed due to overcrowding of them in Texas shelters. I have volunteered at multiple animal shelters and even helped socialize and generally train future service dogs. I’m a student with a flexible schedule! Can watch dogs on weekends, weekdays, holidays. I typically walk dogs in the morning and in the evening, when the sun isn’t so scorching. I keep a close eye on a dog’s body language to gauge their needs. My current apartment is not super dog friendly, so I usually stay at client’s home. This allows me the regular resources to optimally care for a pet.

My goodness, Maire is truly exceptional. I have a very energetic Bernedoodle puppy, and she handles her with such patience, and ease. Ru absolutely adores her, and so do I. I recently had an unexpected emergency, and Maire stepped in without hesitation to care for Ru in my absence. That kind of reliability and heart means everything. She has the calmest, sweetest spirit, and you can genuinely feel how much she loves animals. I cannot recommend Maire highly enough. She is a gift. 🐶✨

About: J'ai eu plein d'animaux depuis toute petite.

-- I live with an 8-month-old puppy and two 3-year-old cats, so it's safe to say that animals play a big part in my daily life! Our multispecies family is a special place of life and communication that never ceases to surprise and amuse me. Since the arrival of my puppy, I've discovered a real passion for dog training. I love understanding how animals communicate, what they're trying to tell us, and how to help them feel comfortable and confident. But above all, I love being with them. Playing, going for walks, watching them explore the world, seeing them get excited about an exciting smell or invent a new prank... it's all these little things that make me smile every day. I love that dogs can be dogs, without any filters. Patient and kind, I see every little mishap or misunderstanding as an opportunity to learn, communicate, and strengthen our bond. My puppy is very energetic, so I'm used to long walks, playtime, and dogs bursting with energy. I've also had the opportunity to look after the dogs of friends and family members, of all sizes and with very different personalities. Every animal is unique, and that's what I love about it. Some want to play constantly, others prefer to observe quietly or receive a few cuddles at their own pace. I like to take the time to get to know them, understand their habits, and respect their needs. I'm patient, attentive, and I believe that a relationship of trust is built first and foremost by listening to what the animal is communicating. If you entrust your companion to me, I will take care of them with great attention, respect, and a cheerful disposition. My goal is for them to have a wonderful time while you're away and for you to leave with complete peace of mind.

About: I’ve had hands-on experience caring for dogs for over 5 years, including raising a husky as part of my family. I was responsible for daily feeding, long walks, playtime, and making sure she felt loved at all times.💝 I’ve always naturally been drawn to animals. even when I was younger, I would go around my neighborhood offering to walk dogs just for fun. I’m very patient, attentive, and energetic, which helps me adapt to different dog personalities. Whether they’re playful, shy, or high-energy. I’m especially comfortable with active breeds and can ensure your dog gets the exercise, attention, and care they need while you’re away. I love to take big walks on weekends, and I miss having my husky at home with me. I am craving taking care of animal and I have a lot of love to give on the weekends! I will keep an eye on the animal and make sure that he is always safe. I am keeping the environment clean, with nothing the dog could swallow or bite. I am also careful when it comes to having contact with other dogs, depending on the temperament of your dog!

About: Hi, my name is Florence and I am a Uottawa student in Civil Law. I like to do sports and get involved in my community. I also have a passion for animals, particularly dogs. Wwhen I was younger, I walked my neighbors dogs and I always liked the big ones as well as the smaller ones! I spend a lot of time with my friends pets (dogs and cats) and I often petsit them. I am really active on Pawshake (same kind of app), but still new on Rover, so I have experience in this kind of dogsitting! Being a really active person, I can walk, play or even run with your pet. I am looking forward to have fun with your pets and being paid for that would be the best! I can do walks of at least an hour with your dogs. I am free on certain times of the day and free on week-ends. I hope you can trust me to take care of your pet, I hope I can hear from you soon!

About: Animals have always been part of my life, and they always will 🥰 As a child, I had two dogs (American Cockers), a bird (dove), and many fish. As a young adult, I took care of my sister’s cat whenever she was out of town and in the last few years of his life, I took him into my home and cared for him when he was sick. Today, my dog, Zelda (Corgipoo) is my fur baby. I’ve had her since she was a baby and I’ve learned so much from my experience with her. Zelda is a nervous and reactive dog, which allowed me to acquire tricks to work with her and desensitize her from stressful situations. Having a reactive dog is a continuous learning process, therefore, if you have a reactive dog, I know what it’s like and I can deal with your reactive dog. I’m the “go-to dog sitter” for my friends. They trust me with their cats or dogs and it provides good experience and exposure for my dog, Zelda. I’ve taken care of senior dogs, including my friend’s dog (Great Dane mixed with Labrador) and other reactive dogs, including our friend's dog (Doodle mix). I have experience with: - Dogs (puppies in training, nervous dogs, reactive dogs). - Cats (caring for them; feeding them, emptying the litter box, playing with them, etc). I’m free to walk or check-in with your fur baby anytime of the day. I can 100% guarantee you that your pet will have a great time and make a new friend. I’m also available in the evening if ever you have to leave for event. I will treat your pet as if they were my own. I will care for them, and ensure that they are safe and comfortable. My #1 goal in joining Rover as a dog walker is to help you care for your dog when you’re unable to, due to being at the office or whatever the reason may be. I actually use Rover myself for when I’m at the office and I need a dog walker to take Zelda out in the afternoon. I know how stressful it is to have someone new in your home/dog’s life. I will follow all of your instructions to ensure your pet is treated with affection and care.

She gradually earned Frida’s trust, and seeing that gave us great peace of mind. She was always punctual for the scheduled walks and very reliable with communication and timing. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Longueuil choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
