About: Hi, I’m Nadia, and welcome to my Woodland Paws Retreat! Woodland Paws Retreat is my home-based dog boarding business, located on five beautiful wooded acres in a peaceful country setting in Schuyler, Virginia. I proudly serve families in Charlottesville, Crozet, Scottsville, and the surrounding areas. Our spacious, natural surroundings are wonderful for dogs who enjoy fresh air, exploring, walking, running, playing, and simply relaxing in a peaceful environment. Whether your dog is playful or calm, young or senior, confident or a little shy, every dog is welcomed here with love, patience, and personalized attention. I love welcoming dogs into our home and making them feel comfortable, happy, and cared for while they are away from their families. My priority is not only their safety, but also making sure they feel at home and enjoy their stay. When your best friend is in my care, you can relax knowing they are being treated like part of our family. I am currently working from home, so my schedule is flexible, and I have enough time to enjoy taking care of your furry friends giving them love, attention, providing exercise, and tailor each dog unique needs. Our home is surrounded by five beautiful wooded acres, creating a peaceful and private retreat where dogs can enjoy fresh air, exercise, and time in nature. We have plenty of space for dogs to play and exercise, including a large fenced area and a spacious fenced backyard deck. One of the favorite spots at our retreat is our screened balcony overlooking the woods. Dogs love relaxing there, watching birds and wildlife, and enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature. Many simply love to curl up and observe everything happening around them. Inside our home, there is plenty of comfortable space to play, relax, and spend time with us. Some of our guests even enjoy watching Dog TV while keeping us company. Most importantly, every dog receives plenty of individual attention, love, and supervision. I make it a priority to keep communication open with pet parents and send photos and updates throughout the day, so you can see how your best friend is doing. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my priorities. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a beloved family member, and I truly appreciate the trust you place in me. My goal is for you to travel with complete peace of mind, knowing your dog is safe, loved, and well cared for.

About: I’ve had a dog my entire life except for a few very lonely months in 2020 after I lost the love of my life, Romey, the naughtiest lab with the best sense of humor. I grew up with labs (mostly ) but now have Gizmo, a labrodoodle , who will soon become BDE (best dog ever) if he can finally learn how to not jump like a kangaroo when he sees his dog friends. I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was young. I’d walk, feed and love on my neighbors and friends pets. I hope I will be the one you call and who you can trust with your furry BFF. Whether you have a long day at work or a weekend vacation, I’ll be there for you! I work part time on the weekends up on the mountain and have lots of time during the week to help out with your dog! I have a fenced in play area in my back yard and crates, dog beds and a designated “dog room” where your pet can relax in solitude or with Gizmo!

About: I have been helping take care of dogs and cats since I was 10 and have pet sat for many people before joining Rover. I have experience with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, reptiles, fish, and chickens. I am excited for the opportunity to look after your pets of all kinds! About: I’ve owned both dogs and cats and have cared for several family members’ pets for over 20 years! I’m a huge animal lover and miss having one of my own. I’m a stay-at-home-mom of 3 kids so I have plenty of time to walk and play! My schedule is extremely flexible and I’m available on weekends. I have an unfenced yard and live 20 feet from the Crozet trail system, right next to Claudius Crozet Park. We don’t have any pets of our own but my three kids (ages 4, 5 & 6) are very active and will play all day with your pet. About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats for over 20 years, pets are my passion! I am also a former Petshotel and Doggie Day Camp Manager for a national chain and have extensive experience handling dogs, cats, and small pets of all sizes and breeds. I am currently accepting small and medium sized dogs for in house day care and overnight stays. I specialize in small and delicate breed types, not usually suited for kenneling or vet boarding. All fur babies will be treated as family members while here! They can sit on the couch, sleep on the bed, and watch TV with us just like at home. Some larger "gentle giants" can be considered on a case by case basis, just reach out. I believe pets are family! All pets in my care are treated with loving and gentle guidance using only positive reinforcement. All dogs will remain on leash the entirety of their walk. We have a fenced in area off the back patio for bathroom breaks with wood chips as ground coverage. No grass of any kind for the safety of those pets with grass and skin allergies.

Every dog adjusts differently, and I have the ability to tailor my routine accordingly. Your dog's comfort and safety are central to how I care for every guest. I closely supervise interactions between guest and resident dogs, and I take time to understand each dog's temperament and needs before allowing unsupervised play. Meals are served separately to maintain a calm environment and avoid food-related tension. I'm happy to follow your dog's established feeding schedule, medication routine, or any additional care instructions you provide. At bedtime, I do my best to replicate your dog's normal setup, whether that's a crate, a dog bed, or another familiar arrangement, so they feel settled and secure throughout their stay.

We set up a meet and greet during which my pup, Maizy displayed some anxiety, but Tina was not deterred. She knew Maizy needed to warm up at her pace and she got some treats right away to help build up some trust! She sent pictures and really helped me feel at ease that Maizy was well cared for! About: Lifelong dog owner with decades of experience caring for dogs both big and small. I work from home and am able to provide plenty of companionship and exercise. Boarders or daycare get ample walks and outdoor time, dozens of photos, and lots of love of course! I provide toys, bowls, a dog bed, treats, poop bags and a backup leash. A tired dog is a good dog :) feel free to bring your pet’s crate if you’d like! I grew up with border collies and labs, then rescued my own dogs in adulthood. One of my rescues was a very sick 3-month old puppy that I raised, so I am well-versed with puppy care. I do not currently have pets living in the home, so your dogs will have the run of the place. I own my own home on a quiet circle street. My yard is expansive with adjacent miles of mowed walking paths When a visit starts, I like to take the dogs on a “Welcome Walk” to get acquainted in neutral outdoor space. I prioritize safety and clear communication (with owners and dogs!) to create a comfortable experience for all. I look forward to taking care of your wonderful pets! I work from home, so I am flexible for drop-ins, last-minute needs, or regular walks, and can give your dog consistent companionship…and some fun of course! Rain or shine, I am happy to take them out. I provide a treats (if allowed), a dog bed, bowls, toys and backup leash (but I prefer you bring the leash your dog is familiar with!). Please feel free to bring a crate if you’d like to crate your dog! When a visit starts, I like to take the dogs on “Welcome Walk” where we get acquainted in the great outdoors. This allows me to build our bond in neutral space with plenty of positive stimulation for the dogs. I prioritize safety and clear communication (with owners and dogs!) to create a comfortable experience for all. I have used the clicker training method in the past, and do not believe in any form of domineering or physical correction. Your dog will have a stable experience here!
