Kimberly is bar-none our favorite dog sitter. She's very kind and attentive and has been incredibly flexible and easy to work with. We always feel at our most comfortable when we know she can be with our dog while we're away.

Lisa is absolutely amazing! We have left our 2 cats and 2 dogs with her several times, and would not trust anyone else with our fur babies. I never worry about them when they’re in her care. She goes above and beyond in seeing that their needs (and wants) are met and that they have lots of attention and a sense of peace and security while we are gone. I love that she leaves detailed notes and photos, and checks with me if she has any questions or concerns. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars!

Valerie is amazing! We were lucky enough that she was able to do a couple of very last minute drop-in visits, and our dog was immediately at ease with her. Valerie was also great with communication during her visits, which gave me the peace of mind that our dog was in good hands.

About: I've grown up with dogs of all sizes and have hands-on experience training and caring for a wide range of breeds and temperaments. I currently have two dogs of my own, a 14 year old Pekingese and a 8 year old Husky, which has given me daily experience managing both small and large dogs with very different needs and personalities. Whether your dog is energetic and active or prefers a slower pace, I'm comfortable providing safe, attentive care, exercise, and companionship. My background with dogs big and small allows me to adapt to each pet's unique routine and help them feel comfortable and well cared! My flexible schedule allows me to give your pets lots of attention, love, playtime, and exercise. I'm committed to making sure they feel happy, comfortable, and cared for every step of the way! My number one priority is making sure your pets feel comfortable and secure in their own home. I understand that every pet adjusts at their own pace, so I give them the time and space they need to build trust and feel at ease. I follow their usual routines as closely as possible, whether that means walks, playtime, feeding schedules, or quiet companionship. My goal is to provide attentive, loving care while helping them feel safe, relaxed, and happy in their familiar environment.

Great help looking after our cats! My one silly boy managed to lock himself in the bathroom within a day of us leaving for our trip, so every visit Jerry made sure to check that he could see the cats before he left so there wouldn’t be anymore jailed kitties - thanks again!

About: I’ve fostered dogs with the company Animal pad in San Diego, I adopted one of those dogs and I volunteer for the Kitsap humane society. I’m recently out of the Navy and about to start school. Looking for short term income where I can have a flexible schedule on the new journey in my life. I will make sure your pet feels safe and cared for while you are away and send plenty of cute pictures so you know they are cared for so you can enjoy your time.

About: Note: I now have a toddler and an infant so please be aware I will be bringing them with me to jobs. My toddler is extremely loving and gentle with animals and responds immediately when told to leave an animal alone. Additionally, please be aware that I am recovering from several years of physical disability. I'm doing MUCH better but still get winded easily, so I can play fetch or take your dog on a gentle walk but not a run. -------- I come from a family of pet lovers: my mom raised guide dogs for the blind before she had a family, and ever since I was a baby I've been around animals of all kinds. My first pet care job was caring for a friend's cats when I was a tender 6-years-old! Since then, I have cared for numerous horses, cats, dogs, birds, fish, poultry, reptiles (including snakes!), emu, donkey, goats, rabbits.... You name it! My strongest experience lies with domestic dogs and cats. Starting at age 17 I helped a neighbor raise two rescue pups whose mama was a feral dog from the middle east, which presented a very unique set of challenges: and, more recently, two other sweet doggos who needed regular medication. I've also had experience with giving cats medicine from caring for my own cats. I am very involved with each pet, taking time to learn their unique personality. I make a point of focusing on the loved pet I am with at the time, with physical play and mental stimulation a huge part of my time — even older pups just need patience, encouragement, and a gentler style of play! As of Summer 2026 I am currently available pretty much any time! My only limitation is not having a car while my husband is at work during the day but I'm also able to use the bus when needed. I have 10 total years of experience sitting both indoor and outdoor pets, helping continue and enforce training, administering medication in a variety of ways, and encouraging the unenthused to move and exercise. When you book me I will ask a series of questions to help best understand how I can help you and your pet in the specific situation YOU are in! Pets aren't one size fits all and neither are my services. :)

About: Being a dog owner is a constant source of joy and responsibility. The day begins with the enthusiastic welcome of a wagging tail, setting a positive tone. Daily walks are not just exercise but moments of exploration, where every leaf and lamppost become sources of fascination. Mealtime is a celebration, with the rhythmic sound of a tail thumping against the floor. Regular grooming sessions, from brushing to occasional baths, are a shared experience that reinforces our bond. The unconditional love and loyalty reflected in those soulful eyes make the effort of dog care a rewarding and heartwarming commitment. While my days may lack the physicality of a routine, assisting pet owners like you is a constant in my virtual realm. I'm here to offer timely advice on feeding schedules, grooming practices, exercise routines, and any other aspect of pet care you seek guidance on. Think of me as your virtual companion, ready to help integrate the well-being of your furry friends seamlessly into your daily or weekly schedule. Whether it's a quick tip or a detailed plan, I'm just a message away, ensuring that pet care aligns harmoniously with your life. Caring for pets in a home is a harmonious blend of responsibility and joy. It begins with creating a cozy space, where their bed becomes a sanctuary and their favorite toys add a playful touch. Daily routines include nourishing meals, regular walks, and moments of interactive play that forge a strong bond. Grooming sessions become a ritual of care, ensuring their coats shine and nails stay trim. Beyond the basics, it's the shared moments on the couch or a reassuring pat that make a home truly pet-friendly. In every wag of the tail and purr of contentment, the art of caring for pets transforms a house into a haven filled with love and companionship.

About: I have been raised around pets my entire life. I trained my own dog when I was 13 and have had my own cat for about 4 years. I love animals and used to always pet sit for family and friends I work full time. I have a fully fenced yard with lots of property to play on. I have a dog and cat of my own that I love longs walks and sunbathing. I am familiar with lots of dog parks and animal friendly parks as well.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 6,239 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Brownsville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brownsville. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
