About: I also intend on becoming a certified dog trainer and thus I am studying animal behavior. I’m experienced in caring for a wide variety of animals—including pets with special needs or health conditions. Whether your furry friend needs meds, extra patience, or just a whole lot of love, I’ve got you covered. At this time Rover is my only obligation. This may change in the future but I am essentially available from 9 am to 7 pm on weekdays. (Weekends are strictly for overnight stays until further notice.) I will make sure your babies stay stimulated, socialized, and happy. I am comfortable administering medications and special diets. I know the area well and know the best places for walks.

“Our pets (dog, cat and fish) were very well taken care of by Chris while we were away for over a week. Chris asked lots of detailed questions, sent regular updates, and even got to pet our very shy kitty, who is terrified of strangers. Everyone was very happy and healthy upon our return. We will definitely book with Chris again.”

“Rachael did an awesome job! She stayed at our home while we were away for the weekend and took excellent care of our two dogs. It felt so good knowing they were comfy at home while we were away. Would definitely recommend and will book again! Thanks so much.”

About: I am a wildlife rehabilitator, and graduate of Paul Smith's College with a degree in wildlife science. I am an experienced pet sitter, and have worked with dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, parrots, fishes, and lizards. I am back in Ithaca for the summer, and am seeking in-house pet sitting employment for some side money. My rehab experience has made me extremely comfortable administering medications to a variety of animals. After giving subcutaneous medications to an angry fox, I would feel comfortable doing so to any dog that required it. I have a real passion for wild and domestic animals, though there is a special place in my heart for dogs. I have always felt a connection with dogs, and I often enjoy their company more than that of humans. I am looking forward to meeting all your furry (or scaly or feathery) friends. She was responsive via messaging on Rover and flexible with her schedule and availability. She is super kind and our dog was instantly comfortable with her. We appreciated her care and attention looking after our pup and staying at our house. We will absolutely use her again in the future and would recommend her to anyone!”

“Bailey is an absolute dream. I was able to leave my big, energetic doodle with her and have the peace of mind that she had everything under control. She went above and beyond in making sure that not only were my dog's needs met, but he also had a fun time with her!”

“Gabby was wonderful! Communicative, prompt, and responsible. She sent me lots of pics and updates so I was very reassured. She really seemed to enjoy spending time with my cat which made the whole experience pleasant . I will definitely try to book her again.”

About: Ever since I was a small child, neighbors and friends have entrusted me to check in on their beloved animals and ensure they are fed, played with, and cleaned up after. As an adult who normally teaches full time, I have house sit for colleagues who have children and take them on vacation while I look after their dogs and their parents' chickens across the street. I don't work summers or during school breaks and I don't have kids so I have a lot of flexibility and free time when school is not in session. I'm great with animals On breaks and weekends, I can make pet care my sole focus. No children or other pressing obligations means that I can give all my attention to your furry friends. I come prepared to enrich your pets time and can read a book while they sleep. My husband can handle my household chores so that I don't have to leave your house if that is what the job entails. The only real routine barrier is my teaching job but that is only during week days in the 10 month school year not accounting for planned holidays, Summer or weeks off. I can prepare food, take on walks, clean litter boxes, give medicine, regularly keep water bowls cleaned and filled, play with and ensure that all animals are where they are supposed to be when I turn in for the night or leave the house. I will defer to client's needs or requests as well for anything out of the ordinary.

“I cannot say enough about Claire. She took care of everything. In my opinion, tater ( the dog ) would rather live with Claire than me at this point. That’s how good she is with animals. 100% recommend her!!!”
