“Paz did a wonderful job sitting my dog at my house while I was away. She texted me with photos about twice a day, and asked me some questions that she wanted to know. I already booked her for another trip I'm going on this winter. I have no complaints at all about her care for my dog.”

“Kai and Devon were amazing pet sitters! They took very good care of our dog and communicated well. This was our first time using Rover for pet sitting and Kai and Devon were great. They sent pictures as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again!”

“Cathy was great! She communicated well and was really good with my babies. She respected my home and kept it tidy. I highly recommend her and will be using her again soon!”

“Carol cared for our dog for 10 days; she was exceptional! She communicated frequently with updates and photos, and followed my many instructions for pet care perfectly. My dog has serious attachment issues and gets anxious with new people. However, he loved Carol like a family member. Carol went above and beyond the call of duty with her outstanding care of our pet and of our home. Carol is a real treasure!”

“Mary was absolutely amazing and took really good care of my Furbaby. This was our first experience with house sitting, using someone who wasn't a family member. However, from the first video chat, we knew that Mary was the best person for the job. She has such a sweet and calming demeanor, which helped to ease all of our nervousness. Mary sent us daily updates and pictures, which showed how happy and at ease my dog was. Mary went above and beyond and we are forever grateful to her. Mary is officially a part of our family and we will definitely be using her for all of our future trips.”

About: I can take any type of animals!! Crazy, big, small, etc. I love em all. I’m very outgoing with them! And love playing and going on walks and talking to the animals!! My mom worked on Rover for a few years and I always helped out when her clients wanted her care but she wasn’t available. We had dogs stay at our house and it was just as fun for me as it was for them! My mom helped me realize this type of job and without a doubt I would love to do what she did! I am currently in an internship in Center City Monday-Friday. But once school starts I’ll be working there part time so my availability will open up more. I have no problem with stopping by in the before and after work to care you your dog/dogs! I am always free Friday into Sunday if you need a caretaker for your pet while you are away. I have them in my view at all times!! I have good communications with dogs and make sure their needs are met by their body language.
About: I have always had a genuine love for animals, and I’ve been around them my entire life! Caring for dogs is something I truly enjoy, and I will always treat your dog as if they were my own. As an experienced pet sitter, I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs. I’m happy to stick to their usual routine—whether that means morning walks, playtime, couch cuddles, or everything in between! I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies who need extra patience, play, and attention to senior pups who may need a slower pace, medication, or a little extra TLC! Most importantly, my goal is to make your dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away! I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, cuddles, and lots of love! 🐶💕 I currently work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for pet care! I work M/W/F from 12:30-4:30 and T/Th from 8-1. Outside of those hours, I’m available for walks, drop-ins, feedings, overnight care, and, of course, lots of love and attention!🐾 When caring for your pets in your home, I want them to feel as comfortable and safe as possible while you’re away. I’ll follow your instructions closely and stick to your pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if required, and bedtime routines. I treat every client’s home with the same care and respect that I would my own. I’m mindful of keeping doors and gates secure, making sure pets are safe both inside and outside, and keeping their environment clean and comfortable.I also understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet and home in someone else’s care. I’ll keep you updated with pictures and messages throughout your time away so you can have peace of mind knowing your pup is happy, safe, and getting lots of love! 🐶❤️
“Matthew showed up on time and followed instructions for our dog. He updated me throughout the day and night. He did great watching her and we will definitely be rebooking in the future!”

About: I have always felt a special connection with animals and grown up my whole life in a pet household. I have always had cats and small pets but it wasn’t until 5 years ago I finally got my own dog. We rescued him from a traumatic past so he had a lot of anxiety and fear. It taught me so much about caring for a more special needs pet that provided me with more patience, discipline and understanding for animals. I also have an adult cat and these two animals collectively make me so happy. These experiences have led me to want to give back in some way as a pet caregiver! I promise to give your fur babies the best care and love possible and to leave your home as if it were my own! I work shifts as a nurse but have my weekends and nights and a week day free! This schedule while my work days are busy allows me ample time off to care for your pets. Knowing any specifics about your pets such as routine, feeding, potty schedule, medications, personalities, etc is helpful in knowing how to provide the best care possible for them. Whether it is a drop in visit or going on a walk I promise to leave your pet more enriched and fulfilled after the visit than before!

“Absolutely amazing and reliable dog sitter!! She kept my Sasha very happy and sent plenty of photos keeping me updated. She also left my apartment spotless and went above and beyond. Would definitely use again.”

“Lisa was amazing with Panda! I booked her with less than a week’s notice, and she was incredibly responsive and professional from the start. She took the time to do both a virtual meet-and-greet and an in-person visit beforehand to make sure she and Panda were a good fit and that she was familiar with everything. During the sitting, she kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. She also made sure Panda got plenty of activity, taking him on at least three walks. I would absolutely recommend Lisa to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter—I’d definitely book with her again! 🐾”

“We set up house sitting for our incredibly sweet, but anxious, mini goldendoodle (Myles) back in March for our July vacation. We wanted to establish a relationship very early on, so when it was time for vacation, Myles would be comfortable and less anxious. Unfortunately, our sitter canceled a week before vacation, basically negating our ability to get Myles comfortable before we left. Backs against the wall, we had to take a huge leap of faith and look into other arrangements, now with virtually no lead-up time to getting Myles acclimated. Benjamin came by way of referral and was only available to take Myles in during our vacation, which was a departure from our plan to have someone come to our home to watch Myles, but given the circumstances, we decided to schedule the meet and greet to see how things would go. During the meet and greet at Ben's home, it was apparent he was special; personable, easy-going, patient, welcoming. It was also clear Myles would have plenty of room to roam and play. Myles was unsurprisingly anxious, but Ben was confident Myles would eventually fit right in with his family and his dogs, one of which is also a goldendoodle! After leaving the meet and greet, we felt optimistic. As expected, at drop-off, Myles was a bit anxious. Ben sent us lots of videos, pics, and updates to show us how things were going. Within an hour or so after dropping off Myles, he started to warm up, and over the next few days, it was clear Myles was fitting right in with, not just Ben, but his dogs, too! Getting daily updates with new pics and videos was such a treat and something we looked forward to while we were away, and Ben never disapointed! When we picked Myles up after vacation, he looked happy and healthy. We have no complaints. We will be sure to use Ben going forward. We felt our fur baby was having his own vacation with Ben while we were away! We couldn't have asked for anything more; simply put, Ben is the best!”

About: I grew up with rabbits and various small pets. My first dog, Toto, was trained by me in elementary and middle school. Now, I spend my evenings caring for others animals whenever possible! I work 7:30 am to 3 pm as a teacher! My day does allow for a mid day visit, distance depending! Free every evening for walks and lots of attention! Experienced with crate trained dogs and more free range styles. Love building trust with animals and keeping their days typical and calm while their owners are away!
“Angela provided great care to our cat and dog with lots of great updates, photos, and kept us in the loop! Our pets were well loved in our absence, would definitely recommend Angela!a”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs most of my life, including my own dog, Pete, who I lovingly cared for until he passed away at 12 years old. Taking care of him gave me years of hands on experience with daily walks, feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, affection, and maintaining a consistent routine. I joined Rover because I just genuinely enjoy being around dogs and connecting with them. I’m a very active person, so long walks, outdoor time, and keeping dogs engaged is something I truly enjoy. I’m also very organized and reliable when it comes to feeding schedules, routines, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I aim to make every dog feel safe, happy, loved, and well cared for while you’re away! I currently work full time, but am very flexible later in the afternoons and evenings. I’m also a reliable and experienced driver with dependable transportation, so you can count on me to be available and punctual for your pet’s care needs. When caring for pets, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and calm environment while keeping their routine as consistent as possible. With my own dog, Pete, I always made sure his environment was secure, accessible, clean, and stress-free, especially as he got older. In a client’s home, I would carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, medication, crating, house rules, and routines to help pets feel comfortable and maintain familiarity while their owner is away. I understand that every dog has different needs and personalities, so I adapt my care style accordingly. I also make sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, playtime, exercise, bathroom breaks, and supervision. If a dog is crate trained or needs to be crated for safety or routine purposes, I’m completely comfortable handling that as well.

About: I have over 20 years of experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Throughout the years, I’ve provided dependable pet sitting for dogs, cats, and other companion animals, ensuring they receive the love, attention, and care they deserve while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines, and I take pride in creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment for them. Whether it’s walks, playtime,, or simply providing companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. My schedule varies by the week. Sometimes I am around 24/7 other times I will be out of the house for up to 6 hours at a time. Reach out for availability. When your pet is in my care, they will receive plenty of attention, affection, and personalized care based on their individual needs. I make it a priority to maintain their normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions you provide. Whether your pet enjoys active play, relaxing companionship, or extra patience and reassurance, I will ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I pay close attention to their well-being and behavior, and I treat every pet as if they were a member of my own family, providing the care, respect, and kindness they deserve.

About: I’ve had two of my own dogs and fostered 4 puppies. I’m definitely a hands off kind of sitter, i let the dog come to me on their own terms. I have had high and low energy dogs and enjoy both. I adore dogs and need them in my life but i don’t want to my own right now. Your dog helps me keep my day moving. I have a door to the patio outside of my office/bedroom. The only issue would be dogs who can’t do stairs. We have a pee spot in the patio if it’s really bad weather.

Kai and Devon were absolutely fantastic house and pet sitters for us during the first week of June. Our two dogs, Maxx and Dimble, and our two cats, Minne and Xena, were all clearly happy, relaxed, and very well cared for when we got home. It was obvious they got plenty of attention and love. They also took great care of our home. They brought in our mail and packages, which gave us peace of mind while we were away, and kept everything in excellent shape. The house was tidy and just the way we left it, if not better. We felt completely comfortable being away knowing Kai and Devon were in charge. They were reliable, respectful, and clearly take pride in what they do. We would gladly have them house- and pet‑sit for us again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring sitters.
Lisa was fantastic! This was our second time working with her, but our first overnight housesitting stay. A few days before the booking, Panda had a minor injury that required medication and some extra care. Lisa was incredibly flexible and adapted to his updated needs without hesitation. She kept us updated throughout the stay, took great care of Panda, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup. We’d absolutely book with Lisa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

We are so happy to have found Paige to watch our two girls, Gracie and Scout. Paige was wonderful with the girls, taking them on walks and cuddling in front of the tv, and kept us updated with texts and lots of pictures. It was such a good feeling to know our girls were safe and happy while we were away.

Opeyemi did a wonderful job taking care of our multi pet household. He was very intentional about asking questions and clarifying instructions before we left, gave us frequent, detailed updates and left the house near and clean. We will definitely rebook with him!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brookhaven walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brookhaven maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brookhaven choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brookhaven. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
