I’m currently a college student on summer break. I have tons of time and can spend hours with your pet either in the morning, afternoon, evening, or overnight. This will change when the new academic year starts in September, in which I’ll only be available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons/evenings and weekends.

In your home, I can crate your dogs when it’s time and make sure that your pet’s areas (such as litterbox, playpen, etc.) are clean and tidy before you return. I can send you pictures of your pet every hour (or few hours) so you and your family have peace of mind while you’re away. I’ll also take notes of rules and requests you have as a client and make sure to record anything regarding your pet that occurs when you’re away (such as vomiting, an injury, torn furniture, and so on) so you can decide the best course of action.

Please let me know if your dog or cat is anxious around strangers. I would really appreciate suggestions on how to gain your pet’s trust (i.e. give them treats, give them my hand to smell so they have my scent, let them come to me first, etc.) I would also appreciate knowing the energy level of your pet so I have a good idea ahead of time how much energy I’ll be using to interact with them. Please let me know anything that makes your pet anxious, scared, or stressed (loud noises, sudden movements, being touched or pet in a certain area, encroachment in their space, etc.) so I know to avoid those behaviors. And lastly, please let me know of any special or unique habits that your pet has (i.e hangs out under the couch, has a favorite unconventional toy, etc).
A typical day
For more energetic pets, I can play with them either indoors or outdoors and take them on walks. If your pet enjoys something particular, I can do that as well. For more chill pets, I’m perfectly okay with giving them their space and just making sure they’re okay or cuddling and watching TV with them.

Hi, I’m Yemi (he/she)! I’m new to pet sitting/pet care as a job, but I do have experience caring for dogs and cats of loved ones. I’ve looked after my aunt’s dogs while she was away and I’ve looked after the cats of my friends and partner when they needed someone to stay behind and care for them. I’m very extroverted, social, and communicative! I’d work best with animals who are looking for a more energetic companion to play and interact with them. And of course, if you’re just looking for someone to chill with your pet and cuddle, I’m down for that as well. Because I’m still a rookie, I would appreciate working with pets that are used to humans/strangers and have at least some training. I’m very willing to learn to work with you and your pet to ensure that my care is up to your household’s standards and that your pet returns to you safe, happy, and healthy.

Opeyemi did a wonderful job taking care of our multi pet household. He was very intentional about asking questions and clarifying instructions before we left, gave us frequent, detailed updates and left the house near and clean. We will definitely rebook with him!

Opeyemi is reliable and communicative. He sent us updates on our pets multiple times a day, administered medicine to our dog twice a day, and did any household chores we asked of him. Will definitely be hiring him again in the future.
