“Paz did an absolutely wonderful job watching our three pups! They were very comfortable with her. She sent lots of photos and updates. We highly recommend her, and would use her again in a heartbeat!”

“Kai and Devon were wonderful! They accepted my request on short notice to care for our two cats on Christmas Day. They scheduled a meet and greet a few days prior to the visit which helped reassure us that our cats were in good hands. On the day of the visit they arrived promptly and were communicative from beginning to end. I highly recommend Kai and Devon and would definitely book them again in the future!”

“She was very caring to our kitten and gave us lots of updates! We would love to have her come again. I felt very comfortable with her playing and taking care of our cat. She is fantastic :)”

“This was our second time using Carol, and she was fantastic. She is punctual, trustworthy, communicative, friendly, and most importantly, she is wonderful with our dog, Teddy! Carol sends us regular updates and photos of Teddy, and we know he is being well taken care of whenever he is with Carol. We are so grateful to have found her!”

About: I grew up with rabbits and various small pets. My first dog, Toto, was trained by me in elementary and middle school. Now, I spend my evenings caring for others animals whenever possible! I work 7:30 am to 3 pm as a teacher! My day does allow for a mid day visit, distance depending! Free every evening for walks and lots of attention! Experienced with crate trained dogs and more free range styles. Love building trust with animals and keeping their days typical and calm while their owners are away!
“Lisa was amazing with Panda! I booked her with less than a week’s notice, and she was incredibly responsive and professional from the start. She took the time to do both a virtual meet-and-greet and an in-person visit beforehand to make sure she and Panda were a good fit and that she was familiar with everything. During the sitting, she kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. She also made sure Panda got plenty of activity, taking him on at least three walks. I would absolutely recommend Lisa to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter—I’d definitely book with her again! 🐾”

“Ben was a terrific companion and trusty sitter with our Italian greyhound Lucy! His kindness, humor, and responsible care is what led us to request his stay with Lucy for the second time, and I’m sure we’ll be asking him again!”
“Amy was the best! She kept me updated throughout my trip. Sent lots of photos and videos. Gave my cat his medication on time and kept me well informed. I came back to a clean home and happy cats. Will rebook definitely”

“Cole was spectacular with our older basset hounds. He was able to get both of them on walks (not easy with one being a little grumpy with new people). Both dogs while happy to see us, didn’t seem like they had been stressed while we were away- a big improvement for us! Cole also kept our home on great order, dealt with a clogged sink, and even watered my plants (without me asking!). We can’t wait to use him again for future times away- the boys seemed to enjoy his presence.”

About: I have two dogs that I have taken care of for years and I have many years of experience with pet sitting and dog walking. I am available most weekdays and weekends for pet sitting and/or dog walking and I can often even if I’m given short notice. I have experience caring for dogs. I can feed and walk pets, tend to their various needs, and keep them entertained if they are energetic.
About: I have always felt a special connection with animals and grown up my whole life in a pet household. I have always had cats and small pets but it wasn’t until 5 years ago I finally got my own dog. We rescued him from a traumatic past so he had a lot of anxiety and fear. It taught me so much about caring for a more special needs pet that provided me with more patience, discipline and understanding for animals. I also have an adult cat and these two animals collectively make me so happy. These experiences have led me to want to give back in some way as a pet caregiver! I promise to give your fur babies the best care and love possible and to leave your home as if it were my own! I work shifts as a nurse but have my weekends and nights and a week day free! This schedule while my work days are busy allows me ample time off to care for your pets. Knowing any specifics about your pets such as routine, feeding, potty schedule, medications, personalities, etc is helpful in knowing how to provide the best care possible for them. Whether it is a drop in visit or going on a walk I promise to leave your pet more enriched and fulfilled after the visit than before!

About: I’m very experienced with puppies/kittens. I’ve rescued several kittens over the years, and fostered them as well. I have volunteered at no kill shelters in the past. I’m currently working from home so pet care fits into my schedule very well. I am an early riser so i am available early mornings as well as evenings. I care for pets in my home by showing them unconditional love, and attention, along with making sure they are always comfortable. Making them feel at home is my number one priority!
“Christina was so great with our greyhound, Minerva! Christina stayed at our home and gave us daily updates. Minerva was happy and calm when we returned home, so we know she felt comfortable with Christina. We would book her again in a heartbeat!”
“Angela took excellent care of our dog and home while we were away for the weekend. She kept us up to date with photos and messages throughout her stay. We came back to a nice clean home and happy dog! Thank you Angela!”
“Raquel is a delight. She is warm and responsible. Listens carefully to all instructions for watching your beloved pet and follows through. I recommend her without reservation!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Parkside
We set up house sitting for our incredibly sweet, but anxious, mini goldendoodle (Myles) back in March for our July vacation. We wanted to establish a relationship very early on, so when it was time for vacation, Myles would be comfortable and less anxious. Unfortunately, our sitter canceled a week before vacation, basically negating our ability to get Myles comfortable before we left. Backs against the wall, we had to take a huge leap of faith and look into other arrangements, now with virtually no lead-up time to getting Myles acclimated. Benjamin came by way of referral and was only available to take Myles in during our vacation, which was a departure from our plan to have someone come to our home to watch Myles, but given the circumstances, we decided to schedule the meet and greet to see how things would go. During the meet and greet at Ben's home, it was apparent he was special; personable, easy-going, patient, welcoming. It was also clear Myles would have plenty of room to roam and play. Myles was unsurprisingly anxious, but Ben was confident Myles would eventually fit right in with his family and his dogs, one of which is also a goldendoodle! After leaving the meet and greet, we felt optimistic. As expected, at drop-off, Myles was a bit anxious. Ben sent us lots of videos, pics, and updates to show us how things were going. Within an hour or so after dropping off Myles, he started to warm up, and over the next few days, it was clear Myles was fitting right in with, not just Ben, but his dogs, too! Getting daily updates with new pics and videos was such a treat and something we looked forward to while we were away, and Ben never disapointed! When we picked Myles up after vacation, he looked happy and healthy. We have no complaints. We will be sure to use Ben going forward. We felt our fur baby was having his own vacation with Ben while we were away! We couldn't have asked for anything more; simply put, Ben is the best!

Kai and Devon were absolutely fantastic house and pet sitters for us during the first week of June. Our two dogs, Maxx and Dimble, and our two cats, Minne and Xena, were all clearly happy, relaxed, and very well cared for when we got home. It was obvious they got plenty of attention and love. They also took great care of our home. They brought in our mail and packages, which gave us peace of mind while we were away, and kept everything in excellent shape. The house was tidy and just the way we left it, if not better. We felt completely comfortable being away knowing Kai and Devon were in charge. They were reliable, respectful, and clearly take pride in what they do. We would gladly have them house- and pet‑sit for us again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring sitters.
Lisa was fantastic! This was our second time working with her, but our first overnight housesitting stay. A few days before the booking, Panda had a minor injury that required medication and some extra care. Lisa was incredibly flexible and adapted to his updated needs without hesitation. She kept us updated throughout the stay, took great care of Panda, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup. We’d absolutely book with Lisa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

We cannot thank Chelsea and John enough for taking such good care of our cats! We are grateful for the love, attention and care they showed our pets during an overseas vacation. Their communications alleviated any anxieties we might have had about leaving our furry friends behind and allowed us to enjoy out trip to the max.
We are so happy to have found Paige to watch our two girls, Gracie and Scout. Paige was wonderful with the girls, taking them on walks and cuddling in front of the tv, and kept us updated with texts and lots of pictures. It was such a good feeling to know our girls were safe and happy while we were away.

Opeyemi did a wonderful job taking care of our multi pet household. He was very intentional about asking questions and clarifying instructions before we left, gave us frequent, detailed updates and left the house near and clean. We will definitely rebook with him!

As of August 2026, there are 5,402 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Parkside. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Parkside walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Parkside maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Parkside choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
