“Words can’t begin to describe how much Erica went above and beyond to nurture, care, and absolutely SPOIL (!) our dogs during an overnight stay! Her communication was fantastic, the house was left in pristine condition, and our dogs couldn’t have been happier. She even took the extra time to tend to our dogs’ special needs (we have a geriatric little one and very hyper golden retriever), and she sent thorough videos and pictures that brought us much joy. We were blown away by Erica, and would be so lucky to use her in the future!”

“Becky was absolutely amazing! She sent photos of my fur babies everyday. Walked and played with my dog, snuggled and played with my kitties. She had amazing communication and went above and beyond. My animals were so happy.”

“Brad was terrific with our German Shepherd, Duke. They hit it off immediately and had alot of fun during our cruise. Brad sent us photographs and videos daily of Duke playing. Would recommend Brad to anyone looking for someone to look after their loved one. Will definitely be requesting him again for our future trips!!!”

“Bryan was awesome! He took really good care of our dog Bella. This was our first experience with hiring a dog sitter and it exceded our expectations. Bryan was very pacient, observant and kind with Bella. Bryan would give us updates throughout the day which was great. Definetly recommend Bryan he wont dissapoint!”

“We had a good experience with Madisyn! The house was left spotless and communication throughout the stay was great — she sent updates, pictures and was easy to reach. Our one note is that she was out quite late one evening, which we weren't expecting. I'd recommend discussing schedules and expectations upfront, as she is a popular sitter with other jobs. I would still consider booking again, as we discussed that issue and she was very responsive. Thanks, Madisyn!”

“Quincy is amazing with animals. She is so kind and understands and appreciates all of their personalities. I cannot recommend Quincy highly enough, and I am so grateful that she was able to house and pet sit for us during a very stressful time.”
About: I have been taking care of Dogs, Cats, and small Reptiles for a combined 10 years. I love to snuggle on the couch, go for walks, and chase the local squirrels. I have a full time time job my hours are 5am - 1:30pm Monday - Friday I also have a small gig job that ranges in schedule, will communicate hours when necessary. My two cats are pretty laid back, other than needing pets 24/7. Growing up and have had to manage many different types of pets, from super hyper and playful to couch potatoes.
“Ruby is a great and responsible dogsitter. She watched our anxious and quirky girl and gave her so much love. It was so nice to be able to travel and know she was well cared for. We would highly recommend her!”

“she's is the best sitter we had, trustworthy and dependable! she loved our dog and made our puppy happy 😊 she also saved my husky! our lockbox was stuck and she couldn't get in the house we were out of town and can't get back. so she did her best and got in touch with our neighbors so my dog won't be stuck at home for 48 hours! I still couldn't thank her enough”

“Ehryn is truly exceptional! She played with Charlee, got to know her, cared for her. Ehryn also cared for our yard as we had arranged and left detailed written messages about her activities. Clearly a capable and loving companion for our pooch.”

“Katey was amazing. She was very communicative and attuned to my pets needs and personalities. She was reliable and I came home to happy pets. I would definitely use her again!!”

About: Hello! We are Cole and Kayla, homeowners in the Lake Limerick area of Shelton. We are conveniently located on your commute between Hwy 101 and Hwy 3. What sets us apart from other sitters is our hands-on experience with a wide range of animals and a deep understanding of what it takes to care for dogs with high energy and specialized needs. We have raised and trained high-energy hunting dogs, which has given us the skills to handle active breeds that require both physical and mental stimulation. We are very familiar with the importance of consistency, exercise, and patience when it comes to training and caring for these types of dogs. In addition to dogs, We have also taken care of livestock, so we are no strangers to early mornings, structured routines, and being attentive to animal behavior and health. Currently, we are raising a 1-year-old Weimaraner, which has only deepened our appreciation for the energy, intelligence, and quirks that come with certain breeds. We understand how to provide the right balance of discipline and affection, and know how important it is to create a safe, stimulating environment where pets feel secure and loved. Whether it's a playful puppy or a senior dog who needs a little extra TLC, we are confident in our ability to provide personalized, attentive care that fits each pet’s unique personality and needs. We both work full time but often have a lot of weekends/holidays available as well as most evenings after 4:00 PM. We also could be available other days potentially depending on the time of year and work schedules. Whether we’re caring for pets in our own home or in a client’s, we approach every situation with the same level of respect, responsibility, and love. We treat each home as if it were our own—clean, safe, and respectful of the space—and every animal in our care as if they were a member of our family. In our home, pets have plenty of room to relax, play, and feel comfortable. We allow frequent potty breaks and are happy to take dogs on walks as needed to help them get their energy out and enjoy some fresh air. If a pet is crate-trained or requires crating at certain times, we’re more than capable of accommodating that in a way that keeps them calm and secure. When caring for pets in a client’s home, we maintain their routines as closely as possible, from feeding and medication schedules to walks, playtime, and quiet time. We make sure they feel safe and loved while their family is away, and we treat the client’s home with the same care and consideration we’d expect in return. No matter the setting, our goal is always to provide a stress-free, comfortable, and loving environment where pets feel truly cared for.
“Davis was excellent to work with and took outstanding care of all three of our high energy pups along with helping maintain some of our plants and fish tanks. He was very responsive and sent plenty of updates and photos of everyone having a great time. Despite our pups usually feeling anxious and sad while we are away, Davis was able to make them feel comfortable and happy the entire time. I'm very grateful we found such an excellent sitter, and we look forward to working with him again in the future!”

“Branden is fantastic! He totally understands it’s hard to leave your pets. He came over to meet us (and the pups) before we needed to travel, asked good questions, and set our minds at ease. While we where gone, he texted and sent loads of photos. Our dogs adore him. We will be booking him again soon!”

“Tara did a fantastic job on a rather unusual assignment that I had for her, which involved not only taking care of my adult dog and puppy at my house for three nights, but also taking care of my cousin’s puppy, also at my house during the same time, who had never previously met my dogs. She also had her own dog with her, making it a dog party of four! Everybody had a great time, and Tara sent us photos multiple times a day of the dogs playing and hanging out together. Will definitely be calling her again soon for further jobs!”

“Bee was great with my dog Asher. She was very gentle and patient with him and showed a lot of knowledge about dog behavior. Asher can be anxious with new people, but he quickly showed that he felt safe with her. I think Bee would be good with so many types of dogs because she was very attentive to what Asher needed and adapted her approach to fit his personality. I will definitely book with her again!”

THANK YOU, GLORIA!!! I wish I could make that statement in BOLD type! Both our dogs loved Gloria — and one of them is an elder curmudgeon. We were gone a week and Gloria was prompt and texted us almost immediately when we contacted her. She also sent pictures — and that was a treat. So relieved to find someone responsible and caring. We will definitely be contacting Gloria again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,331 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brockdale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brockdale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brockdale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brockdale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brockdale. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
