About: I have had pets and all types of dogs ever since I can remember. I have taken care of dogs with many needs. I have experience with administering medication‘s to puppies, taking care of senior dogs, and adapting to different dogs in their type of care that they need. I am comfortable around all dogs. When I am taking your dog on a walk, doing a drop in or staying the night I will dedicate all my time to making sure they are loved and cared for. I have a dog of my own named Moose, and I love him so much. I am in nursing school and I usually have class Monday-Thursday, 8-4pm. I am always available to do a drop in during my lunch break around 12 PM to one. Then after 4/5pm I am free! I work nights at the hospital about once or twice a week. I am looking for drop ins, walking, and some over night stays for female owners only. It would be great to come check in on your dogs and just hangout while I study or do homework as well. At capstone, there is a dog park and a long walking area. I always see dogs running around and it is a very friendly area. I am very familiar with walking dogs and knowing what to do in a conflict.

“Alexandra was fantastic with my dog Sally! I was very worried about leaving my dog for a whole week, but my anxiety subsided as I saw pictures of Sally warming up to Alex. Alex really made an effort to win my dog over by playing fetch with her, spending lots of time with her, and taking her for walks. 🥰 Not only did Alex care for my dog exceptionally well, but she offered to bring in the mail and trash cans for me. She was respectful of our home and went above and beyond. Communication was excellent, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to provide quality care of their beloved pets.”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 12, friends and family relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their dogs. I've taken care of puppies and love all sorts of animals even reptiles! I have also worked professionally as a dog bather so if you would also like your fur baby to get a bath or if they are good for nail trims then I can help. I'm available anytime and day I'm needed to play with puppies or spend time with your dog or cat, walk them or even just to spend time with them. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I follow the pet’s regular schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications they may need. I spend quality time with them so they feel safe and cared for while their owner is away, whether that means playing, giving attention, or just keeping them company.

About: What sets me apart as a sitter is my hands-on experience with animals of all ages, breeds, and personalities. I’m comfortable caring for energetic puppies who need consistent training, as well as senior pets who require gentle handling, medication, and extra patience. I pride myself on reading each animal’s body language, building trust quickly, and tailoring my care to their unique needs—whether that’s reinforcing good habits, providing enrichment, or offering calm companionship. Pet care fits naturally into my college routine—I plan my class schedule and study time around feeding, walks, and play so pets always get reliable, focused attention. In my home, pets get a safe, comfortable space with plenty of play, walks, and snuggles. In my clients’ homes, I follow their routines closely—feeding, exercising, and giving attention just like they would—so pets feel secure and cared for in their familiar environment.

About: Hi! My name is Katia, I am new to the rover app:)caring for dogs has been a big part of my life for almost a decade. I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 18, and now at 27, I have years of experience understanding the different personalities, routines, and needs that make every dog unique. I’m also a proud dog mom to Apollo, my German Shepherd who has been by my side since high school, and Sierra, my sweet mixed breed rescue. Rescuing Sierra has made me especially passionate about giving dogs a safe, patient, and loving environment where they can feel comfortable and cared for. Pet care currently fits very easily into my daily and weekly routine because I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability. I’m currently between jobs, so I’m able to dedicate a significant amount of time and attention to caring for my clients’ pets. This allows me to be flexible with drop-ins, walks, house sitting, and different schedules depending on each pet’s needs. I prioritize making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, especially when they are in their own home. Since my dogs do not do well around unfamiliar animals, I will provide care exclusively in my client’s home, which also allows your pet to stay in the environment they already know and feel comfortable in. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, needs, and preferences so I can keep their care as consistent as possible. I’m very attentive to doors, gates, leashes, feeding instructions, medications if needed, and anything else that helps keep your pet safe.

About: I grew up around dogs, cats, turtles, rats, reptiles, insects, and definitely a few more I don’t remember. I can help with whatever is needed. I am currently living on campus at college, however all of my classes get out at 2pm. I also have more than enough time between classes to drop in and check on/ take care of an animal. I’ll care for your pets however you need. They’re picky? Don’t like people? High energy? I’ve got it. I worked as a dog trainer/groomer for two years and have experience with all temperaments.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
