About: I grew up training and showing dogs! I've also been a trusted volunteer dog walker/foster parent for local humane societies in the past, taking care of dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and ages! My family frequently fostered litters of puppies as young as 6 weeks. I also have plenty of experience with seniors and the specific health problems that come with that, after loving my cocker spaniels right up to the end. Life doesn't allow me to have a dog of my own at the moment, so I'll jump on any chance for some pupper love! I daylight as a professional wildlife biologist, but I am currently between jobs and so have all the time in the world to give your four-legged companions! My schedule is wide open. Safety is, of course, the highest priority, and reading animal body language is the key to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for your pet and avoiding stressful situations. This is a skill I feel very confident with after so many years of varied pet care. Second to safety is fun! Whether that looks like a brisk walk, a casual stroll, a laser pointer, a game of fetch, or just getting some relaxed quality time in is entirely up to your pet. Regardless, I'm happy to fulfill their needs.
“Jill took care of Lady our dog for 8 days. She did a three time check in for us, and did a wonderful job for us. We would highly recommend her and plan on using her in the future.”

I love animals and have always been entrusted to be the main caretaker of all my family pets and have learned all different tips and tricks to make sure every animal is loved and cared for while their fur parents are away. I worked in the UC Davis Animal Science Department as a student resident, which meant I lived in a barn with animals 24/7! I have been taught by UC Davis veterinarians how to administer treatments and medicines, and have always been the first to call from my friends who need someone to take care of their pets while they are away. About: Hi! My name is Katia, I am new to the rover app:)caring for dogs has been a big part of my life for almost a decade. I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 18, and now at 27, I have years of experience understanding the different personalities, routines, and needs that make every dog unique. I’m also a proud dog mom to Apollo, my German Shepherd who has been by my side since high school, and Sierra, my sweet mixed breed rescue. Rescuing Sierra has made me especially passionate about giving dogs a safe, patient, and loving environment where they can feel comfortable and cared for. Pet care currently fits very easily into my daily and weekly routine because I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability. I’m currently between jobs, so I’m able to dedicate a significant amount of time and attention to caring for my clients’ pets. This allows me to be flexible with drop-ins, walks, house sitting, and different schedules depending on each pet’s needs. I prioritize making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, especially when they are in their own home. Since my dogs do not do well around unfamiliar animals, I will provide care exclusively in my client’s home, which also allows your pet to stay in the environment they already know and feel comfortable in. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, needs, and preferences so I can keep their care as consistent as possible. I’m very attentive to doors, gates, leashes, feeding instructions, medications if needed, and anything else that helps keep your pet safe.

About: I have been pet sitting for about 2 years, but it is my favorite side job! I love animals of all kinds and sizes and have been trusted to stay in homes to take care of people’s beloved family members, and their home. I’m currently an elementary school teacher at Wolffarth Elementary in North Lubbock. Depending on what area I am in, I will usually leave with enough time to get to work by 7am. I cannot leave for lunch as I sadly only have 30 minutes, but I am done by 4 every day. This makes it easy to spend the evening with them and I won’t have different hours every day - routine is great for pets! I also share holidays with students so I am pretty available for sitting jobs at those times. While my apartment is a 1 bedroom, it is cozy and great for lower energy dogs. I have plenty of space for them to lay out and they stay in the air conditioning all day. For more active pets, I live right next to a middle school with a paved track for walking, and I am close to a park for dogs who love to run and play fetch!
About: I can take care of the high energy, anxious, storm worriers, medicated, fresh puppies and the elderly. I have 3 large dogs >100lbs as well! I currently am in nursing school Monday- Thursday and work part time in the ICUs. I would love to help care for your babies after class, during the week and on weekends! I will accept last minute drop ins or house sittings when needed! I am also flexible and can accept last minute bookings. I have a subaru outback wilderness suv that easily fits my 3 large dogs. I have two XXL cages and a double fenced yard. I have experience in dog training in walking, trail running, hiking, and other activities like fetching. I am comfortable around all dogs and am willing to adapt and learn how to best care for your animal. When I come to take care of, play with, and walk your dogs I will dedicate my time to loving them. I would love to be able to take them to the dog park where they can also interact with other animals while you're away! I have three puppers of my own - a brown Labrador Retriever mix, German Shepard, and a black golden retriever mix puppy who are full of energy. When in your home, I would love to take your fur babies for walks, to dog parks, anything you already do with them to make them the most comfortable!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks.
