“Serenity offered to meet our pups prior to their stay with her. She sent regular updates to let me know how they were doing. When we picked them up they seemed at ease. I will definitely reach out to her again when needed.”

“They were attentive to my dogs needs. They cared for my beagle’s well being. They sent me regular updates of how he was doing and pictures. I do recommend them and will go back again.”

About: I’ve always grown up with multiple dogs! Our family loves pups of all ages and sizes! I will treat your pup like one of our own! I work as a teacher. I’m able to do before school hours, after school hours, lunch time breaks and weekends! I am able to spend most of the day with your pup! I have a fenced in yard and one senior dog who spends most of his day sleeping! I live near the beach and love strolls down to the water!

“This is my second time using Jeff. Both times he made himself available for me last minute. I’m so happy that him and his family have opened their home to my amazing puppy again. I feel relaxed on vacation because I know he’s being taken care of properly. Anytime we come to Montaulk I’ll be using him so Groot can play with his friends again. Thanks Jeff.”
“Jasmine is a phenomenal dog sitter! I left my pup with her for three nights and he had the best time. I got loads of pics and videos of him and she was super communicative throughout. Will use her any time I’m in the area :)”

“When we arrived for Alfie's second (longer stay) stay with Matthew and Kristin, as soon as I opened the car door, Alfie jumped out and ran to the front door. Matthew and Kristin went above and beyond my expectations. In addition to playtime with their dogs, Alfie also received enough exercise to meet his daily goals (GPS Fi reports). Matthew and Kristin ensured I received plenty of messages, photos, and videos so I wouldn't worry. Most importantly: Alfie is a trained service dog and performs specific tasks, I was worried that after this stay I would have to do a refresher training. That wasn't the case, Alfie didn't forget anything, and continues to perform his usual tasks. Thank you, Matthew and Kristin!”

“We were so lucky to find Sara on Rover! She is super professional made us feel immediately at ease to travel without worry. Sara sent us daily updates with pictures of our frenchie, Coconut. We could tell by the pictures that Coconut was very happy and comfortable. Sara took her outside often to enjoy her yard and the sunshine. She took her for walks with her children who also gave her lots of attention and love. Coconut had an amazing vacation at Sara's house! We look forward to planning our next trip knowing that Coconut will have the best care.”

“Eva was great. She sent multiple pictures, walked her numerous times and Ellie was more comfortable with Eva that she was asking for b(Ellie) rubs :) I'd recommend Eva to all my friends who have dogs.”

“Colleen is THE BEST! We left our baby, Tako with her for 15 days and we already had a good feeling after meeting her and visiting her impeccably clean and dog friendly home. We received the MOST wonderful pics every day of our boy playing with the other doggies, enjoying the back yard, the sun room (his favorite I think) and of course cuddling up to Colleen and her husband on the couch and bed. Things we LOVE about Colleen....only small/medium size dogs, great space for doggies to roam and find their favorite spot, great communication and MOST of all, her wonderful manner and love of dogs. We know that she cared for our Tako as if he were her own. Thank YOU Colleen, we will be back again and again and of course recommend you highly to anyone needing your service.”

“Maria, Eric and Pennie were amazing hosts. They kept us posted multiple times a day with great photos and videos of our dog Bertie playing non stop in the yard with Pennie, who’s is the friendliest and prettiest Husky Shepard mix. They have a pristine home and a great yard for play. I would highly recommend this family and will definitely be using them again for Bertie’s next vacation.”

“I can not say enough about Beryl! She made me feel at ease immediately and welcomed our pup with open arms! She sent us pics and sweet messages while we were away and made us feel our pup was king of the castle. Our little guy was clearly comfortable and happy upon drop off and pick up. I 💯 recommend Beryl.”

“Emily was so great with our dog Rua. She was so communicative and responded so quickly to any questions we had, she sent photos and updates which is always great to have peace of mind. I would 100% recommend Emily to anyone looking for a great sitter for their little buddy. Thank you!!”

“Alexandra J. was an exceptional boarder for my very active Boxer Ghost. She was responsive to inquiries and booking, was flexible with scheduling and with accommodating Ghost's specific food requirements. Very importantly her dogs and other boarders provided my very active girl with plenty of exercise. And also importantly, she sent photos and videos of Ghost over the week that I was gone. I would recommend her highly. Judy”

“We were very happy with Sophie’s time with Joe, Kelly, and their sweet young son. We arranged a quick visit ahead of time for Sophie to meet them and to see their home and space. They communicated effectively and sent pics during our vacation. We will definitely use them again, should we need care for Sophie.”

About: I have owned all sorts of animals since I was a child. I have been to obedience school time and time again. My favorite take away from obedience school is "train the person not the dog". Obedience school is not a one time thing. There are many levels of obedience school. I worked with therapy animals for many years. I worked with autistic children and used horses as the therapy animal. My dogs are excellent therapy animals. My dogs have been with me for 7 years. They are the first Small Dogs I have ever owned. I also live near an awesome park that provides safety, privacy and space for dogs. If you are looking to give your dog exercise away from home, I have the place. There is also a nearby dog park if you prefer. I currently work part time job and work from home so I am with my pets all the time. I like to take the dog out to park on nice days. I have an un fenced yard. One elderly small dog that is 16 lbs. I take my dog out for walks at Harkness Park. Or I hang out with them in the house.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
