“Amazing to have found Joanne. We left our 6 month old puppy to travel for 6 days. Joanne did an excellent job taking care of our pup. He had a great time and the updates were excellent.”

“Ashley went above and beyond to take care of my dog. She was flexible with pick up and drop off. She made sure he had adequate air conditioning during a heat wave. She went to great lengths to give him his medications. And she even gave him a bath before returning him to me. She is knowledgeable and caring. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Truly a wonderfully easy experience. I have never had someone watch my dogs before, so I was nervous about leaving them. They were amazing and made this whole process seamless from the very beginning. From the moment I was considering to book with them, I asked if we could do a meet and greet to make sure my pups get along with theirs. Without hesitation, they had us come over to do so. They were responsive and easily reachable. They sent us tons of photos and videos of our pups while they were in their care. They took amazing care of my dogs and contacted me with any questions or concerns about them. Again, we can’t thank you enough! Highly recommend booking with them!!!!!”

“Diana is the best to care for my dog! Always keeps me updated and send pics of her and her family showing my dog so much love! She cares for him, like he’s her own. Would use her every time!”

“I had a last minute emergency of not having someone to watch kylo while i went away. after constant searching my boyfriend recommended i try Rover and i found Jennifer . She was accommodating, sweet and attentive from the first meet. i was a bit nervous as a first time user for the app and i’ve never had anyone who wasn’t family take care of kylo, but she’s trustworthy and always sent updates on Kylo and how he was doing and he was settling in very easily. her environment was something i loved for kylo to be around, she was always around with kylo and gave him constant attention, cuddles, and her dog Sadie, was just as energetic as him. i’m glad he wasn’t alone and it definitely eased my mind to know he was in a safe environment surrounded by people and other pet friends. my encounter with her was so smooth and last minute but i’m glad she took Kylo in and treated him like her own. if you’re unsure of leaving your pet with someone i 100000% recommend her ! i know kylo had a blast with her and i would definitely love for her to watch kylo for future because of how happy he was and i was knowing he was cared for”

“This was our first time leaving Finn with anyone outside of family or our usual sitter. Sandy was so responsive, provided a comfortable and safe environment for the dogs, and you could tell she really cares for the dogs! I would highly recommend her for anyone considering boarding with Rover.”

“I was so happy to have Melissa watch Moxie. She was welcoming and open when our plans changed. Her flexibility and availability was so amazing. Moxie had a fantastic time and didn't even miss us because she was in such great hands. I will definitely recommend Melissa to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“We had a fantastic experience and highly recommend Jessica. She provided exceptional care for our 75-pound Standard Poodle, while we were away for a couple days. The communication was outstanding from start to finish, and the regular updates gave us complete peace of mind. It is incredibly reassuring to find someone so reliable, organized, and attentive.”

“Joselle and her family were great! She kept us updated with pictures of our dog Scout walking, playing and relaxing. Scout came home healthy and happy! We highly recommend Joselle for all your pets needs!”

“Jessica was wonderful. She was very flexible and accommodating when my travel plans changed and took great care of my dog, Tobi, including lots of pictures and updates. She was thoughtful with her questions before the stay started - e.g., allergies, medications, preferences, etc”

“Had such a wonderful experience with John. From the moment we dropped our pup off, we felt completely at ease knowing she was in caring and capable hands. Communication was great throughout and Cookie came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for, which says everything. It’s obvious that every dog is treated like family and in a clean and safe space. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and highly recommend John to anyone looking for trustworthy care for their pet!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Eastport
We had the best experience boarding our 2 year old Labrador retriever with Matthew and Kristen. They sent multiple pictures every day and gave updates. They provided a comfortable and cozy environment for our dog. She looked happy playing in the pool, hanging out with their dogs, sitting on the lounge chairs, and resting inside and out. On the last day she even figured out how to swim in the pool! I would definitely board with Matthew and Kristen again.

My pup loved Matt & Kristin! It was the first time he overnighted with a loving home with other dogs in it and he was quite happy. Kristin was great about sending me puppy photos and videos to show Bolt happily with the other dogs or loving up both she and Matt. I would definitely leave my little baby with them again. Thank you Kristin & Matt! With gratitude, Rosanna, Scott & baby Bolt

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
