“I’m so happy to have found Julie to take care of my pride and joy, Zoey, when I need to travel. Julie was very accommodating and reasonably priced. She kept me updated by sending photos of Zoey a few times a day. During my trip away, my flight was cancelled. I called Julie, and she immediately responded that she could keep Zoey until I arrived. I feel blessed to finally have someone I can trust, and is readily available. Julie loves dogs. Zoey seemed very relaxed when I picked her up, no signs of stress. I believe Julie made Zoey feel very much at home. Thank you for your support Julie, I will definitely be booking upcoming stays.”

“Gen and her family are wonderful hosts!! We received regular updates and pics of how well our Bailey was doing. When we picked her up, she was tired and happy - a perfect combo:) Gen has a fenced yard and two dogs that were wonderful companions to our pup. I highly recommend!!”

“Jennifer was great watching our Max! I'm always nervous about leaving him somewhere new but he settled in pretty quickly with her family. She sent over 100 pictures while we were away for 6 days which I truly appreciated! I will be recommending her to anyone and everyone I meet.”

“This is the second time my dog has stayed with Antonia, and she absolutely loves it there! I always get lots of pictures and updates, and I know she’s being well cared for. Every time I pick her up, she never wants to leave. Highly recommend! 🐾❤️”

“Giana took such good care of my dog - he's currently passed out and snoring, which I feel he will be doing all week! He loved her dogs and played so well with them. She also sent a ton of pictures and even did a cute photo shoot!! I am so happy we found her!”

“Kathy was very friendly and responsive to my inquiries. She made sure to learn all of Rosie's health information, dietary needs, veterinarian information, etc. When I picked up Rosie, I could tell she was treated like a member of their household and was well-taken care of!”

“I had the best experience with Amber boarding my pup. From the start, she made me feel completely comfortable. She sent me daily updates with pictures and videos, and it was so reassuring to see how happy and well cared for Chase was. You can truly tell she loves what she does. I’m beyond grateful for the care she gave my pup and will definitely be returning. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, loving, and reliable! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Tara S and her family are amazing ?. They took such good care of my Louie - including washing all of his bedding the day I came to get him. She has two good sized good natured dogs that kept him busy the entire time we were gone. I highly recommend her if you have a good natured medium sized dog they likes companionship & playtime. My Louie is about 90 lbs just so you have an idea of what I mean by good sized dog. We will absolutely use them again ?”

“Colleen is THE BEST! We left our baby, Tako with her for 15 days and we already had a good feeling after meeting her and visiting her impeccably clean and dog friendly home. We received the MOST wonderful pics every day of our boy playing with the other doggies, enjoying the back yard, the sun room (his favorite I think) and of course cuddling up to Colleen and her husband on the couch and bed. Things we LOVE about Colleen....only small/medium size dogs, great space for doggies to roam and find their favorite spot, great communication and MOST of all, her wonderful manner and love of dogs. We know that she cared for our Tako as if he were her own. Thank YOU Colleen, we will be back again and again and of course recommend you highly to anyone needing your service.”

About: For the comfort and safety of every pup, I only host one family’s dog at a time. This allows me to give your dog my full attention and maintain a calm, low stress environment. My care goes beyond the basics. it’s rooted in genuine love and experience. My journey caring for Kayne, our special needs dog, taught me how to handle medical routines, provide comfort, and stay attentive to every detail. That experience shaped my approach to every pet I welcome. I understand that each animal deserves patience, respect, and love. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or needs a little extra care, they’ll always be treated like family in our home. We’re CPR and First Aid certified, giving you extra peace of mind while your pup is in our care. Pet care is woven into my daily life and something I genuinely love. As a stay at home mom, I’m home full time to give every furry friend constant love and attention. Our days revolve around walks, playtime, and snuggles. Caring for our late dog, Kayne, who developed a spinal injury and heart condition, taught me that true care takes patience, compassion, and adaptability qualities I bring to every pet I meet. In our home, every animal is treated like family. I provide a clean, safe, and active space with multiple walks, a fenced yard for play, and individualized routines. Through my experience caring for Kayne, who required special medical attention, I learned how to adapt to any level of care whether it’s energetic puppies or older companions needing extra comfort. You can feel confident knowing your pet is in loving, capable hands that treat them as one of our own.

“She was extremely kind, flexible with the schedule, and very understanding of my situation. I had lost one of my cats, and she was so supportive and compassionate until the very last moment. Thankfully, like a little miracle, Pata appeared, and I was able to bring her to her house. I truly feel her energy and the chance for my cat to meet her little sister also helped. Thank you so much for everything.”

“Karina & Teresa were amazing sitters for my dog. They are kind, attentive, and clearly love what they do. They treated my dog very well and made sure he was comfortable . They also sent lots of photos and videos throughout the stay, which really gave me peace of mind! I would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and caring dog sitters.”

“We’ve used Ariel multiple times now and Max is always happy when we pick him up. She sends multiple photos while we’re away to see him having a blast with the other pups. Max loves when he stays with Ariel and her family! I would 100% recommend Ariel for anyone looking for a trustworthy person to watch your dog while you’re away!”
“I am one of those overindulgent pet owners. I usually only leave My King Charles cavalier, Fynn, with family or dear friends. A last minute opportunity over Easter weekend found me scrambling for dog care. An acquaintance mentioned Rover.com, a site and service I was unfamiliar with. After searching the site and reading the reviews I had four options close to my home. I call it a gut feeling because I was drawn to Melissa in spite of the fact she had no reviews posted. Melissa responded quickly . She explained she had two small dogs and would like to introduce the dogs first to see if this would work. It was as if she read my mind… Melissa was available later that day and we agreed to take the dogs to the park. Meeting in person, letting the dogs get to know each other immediately put my mind at ease . When I brought Fynn to Melissa to watch for the weekend, she introduced me to her family, her home and where the dogs would play. Once on the road Melissa continued to put me at ease by sending pictures and updates as to how the dogs were faring. Fynn came home happy, well cared for and missing his new buddies. Melissa is an interactive caretaker, extremely trustworthy, and provides a happy fun environment for the visiting dog guest!!”

“Cassandra has watched my dog, Rosie, several times now over the past few years and I count myself lucky to have found her! Cassandra is very communicative and accommodating. She sends pictures and updates throughout the booking and Rosie always comes back happy and without any issues.”

“I highly recommend Lorena! Not only does she communicate with updates daily but she goes above and beyond to make sure your dog is taken care of and comfortable during the stay.”

“Jessica was awesome from start to finish! My sweet Sadie (10 month old golden retriever) had never really been apart from me since 8 weeks! I had an emergency trip and Jessica made everything go SO smoothly. Just when my worries were rising she sent a short video of Sadie being pet and had the biggest dog smile ever. I was just boarding the plane and my nerves vanished. Thanks, Jessica and family for making Sadie feel right at home🥰”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
