“My dog just went through a few stressful events that has made him very anxious around strangers but he was very comfortable with Joe. We did a meet and greet before booking he did not show signs of anxiousness; in fact he took to Joe immediately licking him on his face. Joe then watched him all day on back to back days over the weekend which went very well. My dog was relaxed all day and did not have any issues. Joe is very flexible, priced extremely reasonable and I look forward to using him again in the future.”

“Caitlin was great! She was so attentive and sweet to our Chico bean! She was communicative, thorough, and gave our boy such great attention while house sitting with Chico. I’d absolutely use her services again & highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great care taker for their fur babies!”
About: I have taken care of friends and family pets over the course of this year some long-term and some short term. Frequent dog park visits and timely feedings. I can accommodate all types of diets, raw kibble, and specialty foods. I currently work full-time however I have a rotating schedule so I can often pet sit and drop in weekdays if needed and weekends. I am off in the mornings so drop and visits are easy for people who work 9 to 5 and just want their dog to have some extra time out or to just check in on the cats. There is an option of having your pet here in my space all to themselves or with my personal pets. I have different options of sleeping accommodations for your pet cage, cot and cushioned. Though I do not have a fenced in yard, I have a dog park in my complex as well as a dog park 4 minutes away by car. I can accommodate all diets, including raw diet.

“Yen has pet sat for us twice now, taking good care of our dog Scout. We trusted her to stay in our home both times and she proved to be responsible and reliable. We returned home to a happy and healthy dog so can’t ask for more than that. Would use her again.”
“Lucy is a gem and we are so happy to have found her! My elderly dog Simba has some medical needs and isn't your run-and-chase dog. Lucy took such great care of him both while we were out for the day as well as during an extended stay, giving him tons of love, tending to his medical needs, and keeping us informed with photos and texts throughout. She is sweet gentle and kind and enjoyable to have in our home. Even our guinea pig got lots of extra love. We will definitely be using her again.”
“Becky was a fantastic dog sitter for us! She over communicates, shows our pups authentic love and just went above and beyond for our home outside of what we agreed too! Would highly recommend her! Just don’t overbook her schedule, then I won’t be able to book her services :)”

“This was my first time using Rover and Marissa made it a great experience! She was very proactive in her communication, sent lots of pictures and took great care of my dogs. I will definitely book her again and strongly recommend her!”

“Brandon was great! He came to meet us beforehand to make sure we were comfortable. Booch immediately loved him. While we were away he was extremely communicative and sent lots of pictures. The house was also well taken care of. We would definitely hire him again!”

About: Since I was young, I have been around various breeds of dogs. I have always loved being around other pets as well. I’ve pet sat for bunnies, cats, dogs, and turtles. I have taken care of dogs at my family home since I was 15 years old and I also took care of my own dog for over 13 years. I currently work full time from 8-5 on weekdays. I am free after 5 to pet sit on weekdays. I’m only fully available to care for your pet on weekends and usually Fridays after 5pm.
“Jayna is a responsible house sitter who follows detailed directions thoroughly, and is very responsive. My 100 lbs hound is on 3 medications and needs specific attention. Jayna took care of him, my fish and my home exactly as I would have hoped while I was away with my family for a number of days. We would like to work with her again.”
“Carmen housesat with my 2 pups and did great with them! She kept in frequent communication via text, photos, and videos. I never felt worried or anxious about how the pups were doing and always felt confident that she had things under control which is saying something since one of my dogs in particular is an older pup that’s pretty difficult. Carmen has to administer pills, give eye drops, and prepare specific meals and did all of it perfectly. I’m so grateful for her help and the great care she took of my pups!”
About: I have been taking care of animals in Westchester County for over 10 years. I have worked with all different breeds of cats, dogs, rabbits and reptiles. I am experienced in giving medications or shots when needed and also an expert at giving lots of love! I currently work a regular 9-5 Monday through Friday, but I am available after 5pm and on weekends. I can always try to work with you to be available at a time that is convenient to you. I maintain your pet’s normal routine to minimize stress. I keep food/water fresh, clean litter boxes, and handle any medications exactly as instructed. I offer playtime, brushing, cuddles, or quiet companionship—whatever your pet prefers. I also keep your home tidy, bring in mail, water plants, and ensure everything is safe when I leave. Above all, I focus on professionalism, compassion, and keeping your pet comfortable and happy while you’re away.
“Crystal is amazing! She was warm and kind and my fur babies were very well taken care of! The best part - she communicated updates and sent photos very regularly which is what I had asked for. I was very confident that my babies were in loving and caring hands! I highly recommend Crystal!”

“Cotter was great with our two dogs! He helped us out in a crunch over the holiday weekend, was extremely responsive and provided a ton of updates. Our dogs were very comfortable with him, we will definitely be using him again in the future. Thank you Cotter!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bedford Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bedford Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bedford Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bedford Hills. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
