“What a great pet sitter for our 2 pups! Grey always gave updates & pics. He is quite witty in his communication about the pups which makes me laugh and it’s so on point! We were out of the country for 2 weeks, so it was the longest we’d ever been away from Emma & Harley. They seemed happy and well cared for. Don’t hesitate to book Grey as he’s the best!”

“Laura was fantastic! Highly recommend. Our pup Aida can be challenging with her reactivity on walks or upon walking in our door (lots of barking at first lol.) Laura handled Aida with grace and in no time they became bffs🤗 Aida is still checking the guest room for her🥹☺️ our home was also clean and tidy!! Laura is a warm comforting person you can be sure will take great care of your fur babies and home while you’re away!”

“Levon is amazing! My boy Melvin is very skittish and inclined to be fearful of new men, but Levon put him at ease right away, and Melvin was licking his face and trying to climb on him within minutes of our first meeting! I’m blown away by how Levon immediately knew exactly how to handle and communicate with Melvin—my guy is definitely a tough case with major anxiety and leash reactivity (which means 62 lbs jerking at your arm when our passing-trigger protocol fails to keep him calm), and Levon is literally the one and only person I feel comfortable handing the leash to as of right now. I was finally able to take a three-day trip without Melvin over Thanksgiving because of Levon—I hadn’t been able to do that since adopting him because he’s such a handful and has some special needs—and I was actually able to enjoy myself without worrying about Melvin! For him it was just a great visit with his buddy who took him for awesome outings to walk and hike, and quality time at the house where he received lots of love and attention. Melvin and I are so grateful to have Levon as our go-to now for when I want to schedule trips, and also as someone who can bring him out on adventures for extra exercise and stimulation!”

“James is a joy. He took great care of the dogs and our home. We came home to a clean and tidy home. He took care of everything we had asked him to do and would highly recommend him again”

“Hannah was very communicative and seemed to have a deep care for all of my animals. I received regular updates, as well as updates when anything unusual occurred (which only happened once, thankfully!). I felt secure knowing my animals were being looked after by Hannah.”
“Megan stepped in on short notice and took wonderful care of our two dogs and two kittens. She was thoughtful and attentive, making sure all of their needs were met. She even brushed the dogs’ teeth, cleaned the cats’ water fountain, and sent plenty of great photos while we were away. When we came home, the house was tidy and all of the animals were happy and relaxed. She also kept me well informed with detailed updates about meals and their daily activities. She was a pleasure to work with, and I would gladly book her again.”

“Melissa is great. She has great questions about his care, and you could tell she’s a true animal lover. She sent many fun pics, updates, and was always extremely responsive. You can tell she really enjoyed spending time with our dog. 10/10 Will book again!”

“Natasha was very patient with our dog while he adjusted to the new person in the house. She provided multiple updates daily, worked with the schedule we had provided her, and even volunteered to stay a little longer on the last day to help keep our boy calm during some thunderstorms that rolled in before we got home; we’ll definitely be using her again!”

About: I've been a dog lover and owner for more than 25 years and have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from puppies to seniors. My first two dogs lived to be 16 years old, giving me firsthand experience with the patience, attention, and extra care senior dogs often need. Today, I share my life with Bailey Love, my 5½-year-old rescue pup and adventure buddy. We spend lots of time exploring the trails and woods around Asheville, and it's where he's happiest. Bailey is friendly, well-trained, and loves making new friends...both human and canine. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, playtime, or simply curling up for a nap, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for while you're away. I treat every dog as family and will provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing they're in good hands. ***For overnight stays, Bailey would be with me - he is great with cats; he has grown up in a house with 3+ cats and litters of kittens and pups.*** I own my own business and teach yoga, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for pets throughout the day. You'll often find me on the trails with my dog, Bailey Love, exploring the woods and soaking up nature. If your dog enjoys walks, hikes, sniffing every leaf, and outdoor adventures, we'll have a wonderful time together! For pets who prefer a slower pace, I'm equally happy providing cuddles, companionship, and calm care at home. 🐾💜 Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. If your pet stays in my home, they will be treated like family. While I do not have a fenced yard, all outdoor time is supervised. Dogs can enjoy walks in my neighborhood, adventures on local trails, or relaxing time outside on a lead if they enjoy being outdoors. When caring for pets in your home, I will treat your space with the same respect and care I give my own. I understand the trust involved in welcoming someone into your home and caring for a beloved family member. For drop-in visits, I often have the flexibility to stay a little longer when schedules allow. As a business owner, I can sometimes bring my laptop and work from your home while spending extra time with your pet, offering additional companionship, playtime, cuddles, and comfort while you're away. My goal is to help your pet feel safe, loved, and as relaxed as possible until you're back home.
“Laina was an excellent caretaker for Cooper. Cooper has lots of anxiety and needs lots of patience which Laina was able to provide. She had great communication the whole time and made me feel comfortable Cooper was cared for. As difficult as Cooper can be to handle she was able to do it. I would happily recommend Laina to anyone who wants their dog cared for properly for their specific needs. She even got Cooper to feel comfortable enough to lick her hand which is not like him with new people. Great communication, great care, ten out of ten experience, by far the best I could’ve hired. Thank you so much Laina!”

“Sara did an amazing job pet sitting our 2 dogs over a long weekend in our home. I loved the frequent updates with pictures and could tell she understands dogs of all temperaments. Our boys were very well taken care of and our house was left in excellent condition. We will definitely use Sara again! The peace of mind allowed our family to have a relaxing getaway.”

About: I have had animals my whole life, ranging from cats, dogs, others! I have had a pet sitting job since May 2025 for a lovely family, providing for their two dogs, one cat. I feed & water pets as owners demand, clean up pets messes and my own. Take dogs outside ranging from 4-5 times a day or as needed. I provide for pets in the comfort of your own home. Of course I play with pets all day! I would love to take care of your fur babies as my own! 💕 As of right now I do not have a day to day job, so i’m very flexible with my schedule. I can provide housesitting and pet sitting, while you are working, going out of town or just for you’re convenience! I only care for pets in the comfort of your own home, I have animals myself and I wouldn’t want to make you’re pets uncomfortable!
“Chloe did an exceptional job watching our Dane. He was dealing with an injury and needed extra attention, a cone and medication and Chloe met all of his needs. This was our first time using Rover and being able to travel with peace of mind that our boy was at home made our trip so much more enjoyable. We came home to a very happy boy and a clean house. We will for sure be using Chloe on future trips and recommend her to any of our friends that have pets.”

About: Hi! Thanks for finding me - out of respect for both of our time, please read my information and send me the secret word when you request your booking so I know we're starting on the same page. :) I am in my 40s and consider myself to be responsible, clean, and punctual. I always strive to leave your place as good as it was when I arrived, or better if I can! I want you to feel good coming home. I love animals and pay close attention to any pet I am caring for - I think they all have ways that they communicate their needs and desires and I pride myself on taking excellent care of all animals. I've had dogs almost my entire life and about 7 years ago became a first-time cat owner (what a treat!). I've also cared for sheep and chickens. After nearly 14 years together, my soul dog passed in April 2026 and I decided to try petsitting as a way to make some extra money and have the chance to spend time with animals. I want to be upfront with my preferences based on what I've learnt from this experience so far to help make sure we're a good fit. Here goes: - Please no requests for dogs with a history of aggression - whether it's fear-based, food-based or otherwise. I'm fine with dogs that are nervous with new people, but not if they've ever bitten or snapped at someone trying to be nice to them. I don't have experience with aggressive dogs and it's important to me that both your dog and I feel comfortable with each other. - I would prefer to keep a two dog limit. I would consider three for smaller dogs and / or seniors that are calm. I'm more than happy to work with additional cats. <3 Reach out if you want to chat about more than 2 dogs! - I would be thrilled to work with your pup to reinforce any training you are doing with them. - I am happy to walk your dog while I'm staying with them, but I am not comfortable taking them to a dog park. I took my dog to a dog park for years and 99% of the time it's great, but I would hate for anything to happen on my watch. - I am a massage therapist and see clients on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. While my schedule is dependent on client bookings, the longest I would anticipate being gone is 6 hours on those days. The rest of the time I work from home for a local non-profit, so I'll be spending that time with your pet(s). - The secret word is walkies! Thanks for reading!! I offer massage at a local wellness center on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. My schedule depends on client bookings, but I would expect to be gone no more than 6 hours at the longest on those days (it is usually more like 4 hours). Other than that, I work from home with a local non-profit and have a flexible schedule. I am happy to care for your animals in your home, following the rules you have established with them. If they need to be crated when I leave and kept off the furniture, great. If they are allowed to sleep on the couch or bed when I'm there, also great!
“Michael is absolutely fantastic. This was the second time he stayed with my pups. It was a unique situation involving a hospital stay and unknown discharge date. He was flexible and worked with me to ensure my pups were well taken care and never left alone.”

“Ana did an absolutely amazing job! I will use her in the future and I would recommend her to anyone. She gave incredible updates and she totally blew me away with her communication and dedication to my animals.”

“Caitlin was wonderful. She was on time for a meet and greet, and after going over everything, we booked her for a vacation coming up. At the last minute, we needed Caitlin to spend the evening with Luna because our dog was adjusting to losing her companion and changing locations, and we were going out with friends all day and then again all evening. Luna was very chill when we got home late. I look forward to a stress-free vacation knowing that Luna is in good hands with Caitlin.”

“I was so grateful to Tabby for making herself available with shorter notice to take care of my big tabby cat, Bob, while I was out of town! She stayed at my house and was great about giving updates, sending photos and being responsive. Tabby definitely has a way with cats, and Bob warmed up to her immediately! He was happy and content when I got back! I definitely will reach out to Tabby again.”

Marni was amazing with my dog! She was very communicative and sent great pictures. I was very happy to have her help while I was away. She did great with his untraditional eating schedule / food as well. I would recommend Marni to anyone! On top of being a great sitter, she was a kind person who I trusted in my home. I would rate higher if I could!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Beaverdam on Rover is $67.71 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 678 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Beaverdam. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Beaverdam walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Beaverdam maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Beaverdam choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Beaverdam. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
