About: I am a substitute teacher (gone 7:15am-2:45pm Monday-Friday) living on Hillside with my military hubby and two puppers, Oscar and Juniper. Oscar is a 11yr old, 55lb mutt (lab/border collie) and is a thriving, darling gentleman. Juniper is 2yrs old, a Goose Bay special rescue/mutt (55ish lbs as well but taller and lankier than Oscar). They are very well behaved and love company. Our big fenced in backyard allows for oodles of fresh air and freedom to run! They run off leash during hikes and walks, and we would prefer our guest puppers to be able to do so as well. We provide a structured, loving, healthy environment. Your pup, is our pup-part of the family, held to the same basic standards and spoiled with attention, belly and ear scratches, and couch cuddles. Breakfast and potty is usually 6:30/7am, and another potty run 7:30am by Paul (my hubby) before he goes to work. I am usually home at 2:45pm and let them out in the backyard. During the winter, I then head off for a 5km walk on the trails so we can wrap up by dark. If temperatures, weather, or errands alter that, we have reflective/glow collars and walk around our quiet neighbourhood. Supper is 5pm. Pups go in/out as needed (we have a bell on the door they jingle). We typically go to bed 10-11pm, and do a tactical potty run at that time. Walking: Walks are typically 5+km, on trails, off leash preferred since my dogs roam free. I drive a wilderness Subaru Outback so lots of trunk space for 3 med/large dogs or I can drop the seat backs as needed if I need to swing by for your pooch. I do not tolerate unsafe/bad/aggressive behaviour. I follow your directions as I trust you to know what your pet needs and take that seriously. For stays at my place, I have a large house with covered couches, 4 massive dog beds, fenced in backyard, large communal water bowl, two easygoing, friendly puppers, toys galore.

About: I've had dogs since I was a child and can't imagine a home without one. Over the years, I've had experience caring for high-energy breeds, senior dogs, dogs recovering from injuries, and dogs who require medication. I enjoy getting to know each dog's individual personality, routine, and quirks and helping them feel comfortable while they're away from home. When your dog stays with me, I want them to feel like part of the family. I understand that every dog is different, so I'm happy to follow their normal feeding, exercise, medication, and bedtime routines as closely as possible. Whether your dog loves walks and playtime or would rather relax and get some extra attention, I'm happy to meet them where they are. I'm retired military and have base access. I understand firsthand that military life can mean deployments, TDYs, long workdays, and unexpected changes to your schedule. Having someone dependable to care for your dog can make those transitions a little easier, and I'd love to provide your dog with a comfortable place to stay while you're away. I look forward to meeting you and your dog! I work at a local school during the week, but I am able to come home during the day for a midday potty break. Before and after work, I have plenty of time for walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention. On weekends and school breaks, I'm home more throughout the day. I will do my best to accommodate your dog's normal routine and schedule while they're staying with me. I know consistency can help dogs feel more comfortable when they're away from home, so please let me know what they're used to! At this time, I am not accepting recurring bookings. My home has a fully fenced yard with plenty of space for supervised outdoor time, and we're close to trails for walks and exploring. My dog is well-socialized and used to having other dogs around. I also have the ability to separate living spaces when needed, so dogs can have their own space to relax, eat, or simply take a break from each other. Your dog's safety and comfort are very important to me. Boarding clients are required to provide proof of current vaccinations and dogs must be kennel trained. Kennels provide each dog with a safe, familiar space and allow me to safely separate dogs when needed. To help keep all of the dogs in my care healthy, please let me know if your dog has been sick or has had any recent symptoms before their stay. Dogs showing signs of illness at drop-off will not be able to stay.
