About: I am patient and love the difference we can make in animal lives. A simple walk to me but it means the world to them! I work full time, but I would love to use this opportunity to spend time with your pets. Your pets will have my undivided attention in my care. I am trustful individual with great attention to detail. Your dog’s safety is my number one concern. We will make sure to be safe but also have a lot of fun!
About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly can't imagine life without them. I've owned both large and medium-sized dogs over the years, so I'm very comfortable handling and walking big pups with confidence. Whether your dog loves a long adventure, a leisurely sniff-filled stroll, or just wants some extra love and attention, I'm happy to meet them where they are. I recently worked as an adoption and foster counselor at an animal shelter in St. Louis, where I had the opportunity to work with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I'm comfortable handling dogs who are dog-reactive, dog-aggressive, leash biters, or shy and fearful, and I know that every dog deserves patience, kindness, and understanding. My own two dogs are my whole world, and I know how much trust it takes to leave your best friend in someone else's care. I'll treat your pup like one of my own—with plenty of love, attention, and lots of tail wags along the way! 🏆 Certified in Fear Free Training 🏆 I currently work from home with a very flexible schedule, which means your pup will get plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day. Whether they love extra walks, playtime, cuddle breaks, or simply having someone nearby, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away! At this time, I provide pet care exclusively in my clients' homes, where your pet can stay comfortable in their familiar environment and routine. I'm happy to help with everything they need, including walks, feeding, fresh water, brushing, playtime, potty breaks, medication (if needed), and, of course, lots of love and attention. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible—for both you and your furry family member!

About: For as long as I can remember, dogs have been one of the greatest joys in my life. I have been an avid dog lover my entire life and have been fortunate to raise and adopt several wonderful dogs throughout my journey. Every dog I’ve had has taught me something special, and I truly believe our pets are cherished members of the family. My life has taken me from the beautiful Pacific Northwest to spending 20 years in the California desert, and now I’m excited to call the Toms River, New Jersey area home. One of my favorite things about living here is enjoying the incredible wildlife and beautiful scenery on long walks. I currently share my home with two senior rescue dogs who absolutely love their daily walks. Caring for senior dogs has given me experience with patience, gentle handling, and understanding that every dog has unique needs, routines, and personalities. Whether your pet needs a dependable sitter while you’re away, plenty of cuddles and companionship, or an enjoyable walk filled with fresh air and new sights, I’ll care for them with the same love, attention, and respect that I give my own dogs. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and happy—and to give you complete peace of mind while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member and look forward to making lots of new four-legged friends here in the Toms River community! I work remotely and can tailor my schedule around other commitments easily. It is not a problem for me to leave my work for a few hours to tend to a pets needs. I am highly responsible and will watch over your fur baby as I watch over my own. I have never had a lost pet or had a pet escape my presence. I have completed dog training courses and know how to responsibly handle a pet.
“Amanda was amazing with our dogs, Milo and Lady. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which made us feel completely at ease while we were away. You can tell she truly cares about animals and treats them like her own. Both dogs can be a bit of a handful, but Amanda handled everything with patience and ease. When we got home, they were happy, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of. She’s reliable, attentive, and goes above and beyond. It’s not easy trusting someone with your pets, but Amanda exceeded every expectation. We’d absolutely have her watch them again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great dog sitter.”

“Kasper is always the best! They go above and beyond for our kitties in every way: staying extra if they feel they need it, cleaning up barf (ugh). Also, watering my plants, and checking on my tortoise lol. I also always feel my house is safe and locked up while away. I could not recommend Kasper any more highly.”

About: Experienced pet sitter reactivating my profile due to new flexible schedule! I’ve cared for all sorts of pets, ranging from senior dogs to active puppies. I’ve had 3 dogs and 2 cats in total (including one blind + deaf senior dog). With one indoor cat currently, I really miss having dogs around! I’d love to care for your pet while you’re away, or show them some love with a walk. It would make me just as happy as it makes them. I work remotely and have a flexible schedule, so I am available and ready to care for your beloved pet, whether it’s a cat or dog! For pet sitting, I will ensure your pets belly is full, is given a walk and plenty of water, will be let out to go potty, and will get plenty of attention while you’re away!
“Thank you so much for taking care of the girls. They were very happy to see us but we could tell they were well taken care of. Thanks for taking the time to search for our “scaredy cat”, Kira. We will definitely be using you in the future!”

“Emily was WONDERFUL with our three dogs. She is responsible and a great communicator. She sent pictures from each visit. Our pups loved spending time with her. We’d definitely use her again.”

About: I believe what sets me apart from other pet sitters is my respect and innate love for all animals. My Mom asked me when I was 3 years old what I would like to be when I grow up and I said, "I want help children and animals.” I have not changed much since then! I am now a pediatric nurse who devotes her time to her cats, a cat colony in Howell and farm animals as well. I have been around animals my whole life, and I could not imagine life without them. I care for animals throughout the day, everyday. I use my time wisely and ensure every animal is cared for in every way no matter what. I care for my pets in my home by providing a clean, safe, loving, and stimulating environment for them. My cats are provided with fresh drinking water (spring water) throughout the day, nutritious food (wet & dry), litter boxes cleaned twice daily and clean glass doors/windows to bird/squirrel watch. My cats also sunbathe on the back patio and enjoy their cat nip as well.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, including my family’s 11-year-old pup who is the absolute joy of my life. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and ages—from energetic Black Lab puppies to senior Yorkies, including administering daily medications to older dogs. As a speech therapist, I pay close attention to nonverbal communication, which helps me quickly read your dog's body language, mood, and needs. I’m punctual, reliable, and dedicated to giving your pup the same loving care I give my own. I'm available for evening walks and visits after my workday as a full time speech therapist. Whether you have late dinner plans, work late, or just need someone to handle the evening feeding and bedtime routine, I’m here to give your dog extra attention when your schedule gets busy! When caring for pets at a client's house, safety, routine, and security are my top priorities. I strictly follow your dog's established routine—from feeding and medication schedules to playtime and potty breaks—to keep them comfortable in their familiar environment. Before letting your dog out into a yard, I always check that gates are securely latched and fences are clear. On neighborhood walks, I double-check collar and harness fits and always err on the side of caution—keeping a respectful distance from other dogs.

About: I have had dogs my whole life and always have been around dogs. I started off with watching friends pets when they traveled. Then our family dog recently passed away and thought this would be a great idea to have dogs around again . I currently work part time from home and work 1 afternoon a week for 3 hours , and my husband is home during that time. I have a very large fenced in yard to keep your pets safe. They can be crated if wanted and have a room downstairs by my back door if there is any need for separation from other dogs. I also only take a small amount of dogs that way they can get as much attention as possible. My kids love helping take care of the pets and it makes it a fun loving environment for your animals!

I promise to make sure to give them a lot of belly rubs, play with them, & let them drool all over me! As a mom of a rescue dog, I understand the patience and gentleness certain dogs need when anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed. About: I’ve had animals all my life! I don’t mind big dogs or cats and I will make sure they are taken very good care of! I am trustworthy and hard working. I’ve served in the military for 8 years as well. Weekday/weekend Early mornings, early evenings, and late nights are best for my schedule. I will make sure to accommodate any special requests or extra time too. I have a cat who is 11 years old and she is afraid of her own shadow. We thought by getting a kitten it would help bring her out of her shell, but it made her very stressed. We had to give the kitten to our best friends to ensure our cat lives a happy stress free life.
“Lisa was very accommodating when I had surgery and was unsure of the time I would need her until the day before. She was very communicative and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend her to anyone and will definitely use her in the future!”

Jessica was wonderful with Asher and Lily! She was so accommodating and went above and beyond, even making an extra drop-in when Lily got into something she shouldn’t have. We really appreciated how caring and attentive she was and would definitely book with her again!

Matt was an excellent dog walker. I received pictures from his walk and my dog sat at the door waiting for him. When Matt got here the dog wiggled all over so excited to see him. I would highly recommend him, very personable, very professional and very kind to my dog.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
