“Our Jack Russell, Howard, is a skittish dog but it didn’t take long for him to warm up to Donna and Nelson. We were gone for 4 days and he was happy and safe the entire time. They spent quality time with him not just an in , feed, pee and leave. That meant the most. They made sure we all covered the bases as far as what we wanted and what to do if there were an emergency. We will definitely book with them again.”

“Victoria did an amazing job and took care of all of our fur babies and even cuddled with them. Thank you Victoria we appreciate you and look forward to our next trip and you taking care of our fur babies”

“Kassandra is so personable and communicative! She asked great questions prior to meeting and followed up with lots of photos. You can tell she genuinely cares for animals. Will absolutely be using her services moving forward!”

“House was exactly how I left it minus the cat obviously being fed and cleaned up regularly. Very polite and nice people. They not only helped me twice with packages even coming over once earlier than the recorded time just to get a package, but she knew my budget was stretched thin already and came an extra day not booked just to help out. This couple is who you want to hire if you need trustworthy people watching your animals.”

“Janicia was wonderful with our pups and sent lots of pictures! The girls just loved her and I felt so relieved knowing they were happy and well cared for. I will definitely be reaching out to Janicia again in the future.”

“Sherry is amazing! She took great care of our 2 dogs while we were out of state. Surprisingly hurricane Milton developed and hit our coastline. Sherry was available and offered extra help as we got our puppies safely to grandmas house.”

“Our cat Jack was well taken care of by Lisa. She was attentive and caring to our fur baby. Lisa was thorough and followed our 3 pages of instructions. Lisa went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable while we were away sending us pictures, updates and videos every day. We are already planning to hire Lisa again next year. She was an awesome pet sitter.”

The dogs took to her immediately and my worries were put to rest immediately. I highly recommend her, and I plan on continued checking with her when needed. She is my number one choice.”

“Chris was wonderful! He took care of my dog at my home for 8 days. He showed up on time or early for every visit, stayed longer than required and did everything properly. My dog really likes him! Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Bayonet Point
This was the first time I have had to find someone to check in on my cat, due to this being the first time I have not had family close by. I am relieved to know that Rada is in the area and available. She does such a great job and kept me up to date on how the cat was doing. I completely recommend her services.

I always have peace of mind every time I leave Selina and Moki. I've been using Rover and the same lady, Brianna, and she's been amazing! She puts up and follows my list of instructions and would send me photos and videos every day during the duration of my vacation or time away. I strongly recommend Rover, and most especially, Brianna.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bayonet Point. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
