“I was instantly comfortable with Monroe. She was professional, organized, friendly, and interacted with my big hounds with ease. The house looked great when I got home. She took care of my plants and even offered to wash/dry the bed sheets. I will gladly use her again!”

“He was amazing! Last minute call for a sitter after my previous sitter had reviews of no showing and did not confirm with me 48 hours prior to needing a sitter for our wedding day! He was easy going, likeable, 100% on task! Wish we lived closer to book him again!”

“Raina was amazing! This was our first time using rover and working with her, and we were so impressed. So communicative through our trip, and we knew our dogs were in good hands. She stayed at our house and left it cleaner than how we left it. Couldn’t recommend her enough!”

“I can definitely say that after being gone for eight days I was very appreciative for what I came back to. I've had my challenges with the dogs so for someone to come in a take over for a week seemed a little daunting however Yolanda came through with 5 stars... I have no doubt the dogs were well taken care of as all instructions left were meticulously followed and the dogs were definitely well cared for not to mention the house was cleaner then I left it. There's nothing better then coming back from a vacation with well taken care of dogs. Would definitely recommend for worry free dog sitting”
“Sienna took great care of my house for 3 days. I have a large property with lots of plants, a large dog, and two cats. Everything was in tip top shape when we came home and she took so many cute pics of the animals. We will definitely trust her with our house and our fur babies again!”

“Sabrina is a joy to work with to watch our lil dude Nico. Her communication is fantastic and she always went the extra mile to ensure he was well-cared for. We had complete ease of mind being away and knowing that he received lots of love, cuddles and care.”

About: As a cattle dog owner, I'd like to think I have a special set of skills for crazy babies. I have always had rescues and fosters in my home. I have been fortunate to work with foster pets from the Caribbean and Mexico as well, each of these often came with health issues. I have experience with pregnant dogs and cats as well! If you are interested in having your pet stay over, know I have two very friendly dogs. They have both experienced having guests and foster pets in the house as well. Tolerant and obedient. I have multiple rooms and baby gates for separation and quiet time. In general, I am a very active and outdoorsy person! So i am happy to take the pets out to the trails or the lake! I live on 10 quiet acres with a fenced yard. There is ample space to play outside or be kept safe and warm inside. I am fortunate to work from home. I have the ability to provide care all day and night for your pet! I walk each morning and evening and have the option to take your pet out for a walk or a play on the property in both fenced and unfenced areas. I have an older dog who is very arthritic so I am used to caring for the elderly animals as well. Pets in my home have their own room if needed. I have plenty of space for crates. I have a large gated deck and live on 10 acres on a quiet road. My own pets walk daily with me along my road which works well for easy elder dog walks as it is shady even in the summer. It also can provide great training ground as there is little traffic. For the high energy babies, we can play fetch or take to the trails nearby. I have always had rescue pitties so I am comfortable with big cuddly babies. I adopted a cattle dog pup who had clinical anxiety which has taught me how to care for highly intelligent, high energy dogs as well. Treats, love, and confidence makes for a happy dog!
“Jillian was great! On short notice she was willing to come meet us and get to know our dog before we booked her for dog sitting at our house. She took our active dog on long daily walks to the park near our house. She shared updates and photos of the fun they had each day. We felt comfortable that our dog was in great hands. When she left the house she left in better than she found it! We would welcome Jillian back again!”

“I was initially worried because my cat tends to be anxious when I leave. Ashlin watched my cat for 4 days and did a great job making him feel comfortable, safe, and mentally stimulated. She was even able to give him some medication. Definitely will be asking her to watch my pets in the future!”

“Brandie stayed at my house for 4 days with my dog and 3 cats. She left the house in great condition and even watered my plants and brought in my mail. She is a natural with animals. My dog developed a tight connection with her and she did a great job taking care of him even in the very warm weather. She was great with the cats as well; playing with them and tending to their needs. I appreciate that she kept the dog and cats apart as they do not like each other. I highly recommend Brandie for your pet sitting and dog walking needs.”

“Ashley was very caring with my two little ones. She gave me periodic reports and I felt comfortable with the care she gave them. She knew about meds and handled giving them. This was important since my two are older dogs.”

“Ayla is a very responsible and kind person, and we felt lucky to have her taking care of our fur family and home while we were away. She has a very calming presence, which is especially helpful as one of our dogs is quite excitable. She was also great at communicating with us and being in touch, which we appreciated. We would -- and will -- definitely have her back again!”

“Britt did such an incredible job with our cat. It was evident our cat was in good hands by looking at photos and videos of the two playing and cuddling together. She went above and beyond in keeping our house clean and communicating. We will definitely be booking her again!”

“Thank goodness for Nadiia. Not only does she diligently care for my blind and heart-challenged dog when I travel without my furchildren, this time my other pup encountered an emergency digestive issue just 2 days before I left for across the Atlantic. Nadiia is so concerned, and follows directions to a T! I am so thankful for your commitment, Nadiia ❤️”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Baxter walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Baxter maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Baxter choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Baxter. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
