About: I have taken my mother's lab to trips to the groomer as well as getting her to be patient during bath time. I also taught her to wait for her food to be poured before eating, taught her a few tricks such as, sitting, speaking, and how to walk beside me appropriately on a leash without dragging. I only work part-time for the rest of the year, so my schedule is quite available. I have availability Mondays - Thursdays all day. I can also do overnight stays as well! I have my senior cat roam anywhere in the house, he is mainly outside. However, due to his old age, he is fragile and I don't want to change routine too much, he also needs lots of my attention and affection while I am home. I am willing to come to you instead! reducing the hassle of having to drop-off!
About: From playful puppies to wise seniors, I’ve cared for cats and dogs of every breed, age, and personality. With years of experience nurturing both healthy and special-needs pets, I provide a safe, loving space where tails wag and paws relax. My big yard is perfect for playtime, my cozy home is made for snuggles, and because pet care is my full-time passion, your furry friend will never be left alone. I am available 24/7 currently. I will ensure not to schedule events during your pet's scheduled visit so that they are left alone minimally for weekly errands only. I have a corner lot, on 1/4 acre with a large fenced yard. There are no stairs in my home. I live within 1 mile of a dog park. My lawn is big and we have fruit trees. No pools or items for your pup to get tripped up on or stuck under. We do have a pet pool and sprinklers for playtime and cooling off. I am currently enrolled to be certified for pet first aid and cpr. I treat all my pets with Frontline and have treated my yard for flea control
“Lex was absolutely AMAZING! I cannot recommend her enough. She watched Huck and Noey while I was out of town, and I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in such great hands. She went above and beyond with Huck, taking him on walks and making sure he got plenty of attention, exercise, and love. But what really blew me away was Noey! She is a cat who pretty much hates everyone 😂 and somehow Lex completely won her over. Noey actually came out, hung around with her, and was comfortable spending time with her—which says EVERYTHING about how calm, patient, and wonderful Lex is with animals. It’s such a relief to be able to leave town and know your pets are not only being taken care of, but are genuinely happy and comfortable with the person watching them. Lex is trustworthy, attentive, caring, and clearly has a special way with animals. I would 100% have her watch my babies again and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pets. ❤️🐾”

“Ginger is a very poised professional, who is prompt, kind and caring. She took excellent care of my fur kids and made me feel, very comfortable . I’ve never left my kiddies with a sitter but I trusted her”

“Taylor did a fantastic job with our Toby. He can be a real pill but she knew how to care for him. I would never have known by his behavior that we were gone almost 2 weeks. She was punctual and handled a medical situation with him very appropriately. I will definitely hire her again. Oh and the house was spotless and even clean sheets for two weary travelers. Thanks again.”
“Simone had great communication and was amazingly flexible with our timing needs - during a holiday weekend on top of that! Having peace of mind while away was much appreciated. She was respectful and easy going. Would definitely have her back to watch my mischievous pittie anytime!”

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was just a baby, all my family members have had puppies and doggies and can always rely on me to watch them when they’ve needed it. On days that I am not working I would love to be walking or sitting dogs! I usually go for morning and sunset walks everyday so I would be happy to have a friend join me! Also am available to watch dogs while you’re away on vacation, just not at my house because I’m not allowed to have pets in my apartment. I will follow exactly how you’d like your dog to be taken care of! Just let me know how you usually do things with them and I’ll do the same, I’ve noticed it’s easier for the dogs because the are used to how their owner does things!
About: Animals have been part of my life since I was an early adult, and caring and connecting with them comes naturally. As a wellness coach, husband and father of two, I’m big on structure, patience, and creating a calm, safe inviting environment for every dog I work with. I’m active outdoors, hiking, walking trails, and exploring around in the neighborhood, so your dog will get plenty of movement and attention. I will always adapt movement and attention needs to your liking. I’ve handled everything from high-energy pups to gentle senior dogs, and I’m confident with feeding routines, medication reminders, crate-training basics, and helping anxious dogs feel secure. I treat every pet like my own and keep owners updated with photos, check-ins, and clear communication so you always know your dog is in good hands. Whether your dog needs long walks, overnight care, or a dependable companion while you’re away, I bring consistency, kindness, and professional-level responsibility to every stay. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I work from home and set my own schedule. I’m already outdoors often, walking, working on the yard, biking, or taking my own dog out around the neighborhood or on the trails, so adding your pup into my day is a seamless fit. I’m available for boarding service either at my home or yours for 2-4 days during the week and weekend boarding requests as well. Your dog will always get consistent attention, movement, and care, never rushed or squeezed into a busy schedule. I provide a calm, structured environment that helps dogs feel comfortable the moment they arrive. My home in Fair Oaks has a large, fenced yard with plenty of safe space to explore. Outdoor time is always supervised, gates stay secured, and I keep clear routines for feeding, play, and rest so dogs settle in smoothly. We have two friendly dogs of our own, a Papillon and a Min Pin/Jack Russell mix, who enjoy having new companions around. They’re social, well-behaved, and help create an easygoing atmosphere for visiting pups. If a dog prefers their own space, I can separate areas to make sure everyone feels relaxed. For boarding in my home, I do require that dogs are potty trained. If you’re still working on potty training, I’m more than happy to support that process in your home. I’m also comfortable with crate routines, senior care, medication reminders, and maintaining whatever structure your dog is used to. As a father and longtime pet owner, safety and communication are top priorities, I send photo updates and check-ins so you always feel connected while you’re away.
About: Animals in my care are given lots of love and snuggles, clean food and water, mental and physical exercise, and a cozy bed near a human! I have taken care of many dogs for friends, family, and clients. Your pup will have a wonderful time staying at our farm on 1 fenced-off acre with another very friendly dog, Teddy Bear Tom. We have a large sturdy kennel in the garage upon the client's request. We prefer to have your fur baby with either myself, my husband, or my teenage daughter. Thanks for choosing us to take care of your precious pup! I am a full-time care provider for dogs of all ages. Your fur baby will never be left alone except when I take my potty break or prepare a meal. I supervise and actively play with the fur babies that I am taking care of. We have nap time together as well. Fur babies can play as much as they want outside as weather permits. They can snuggle inside the house if that's what they want to do. I am very in tune with and attentive to the needs and emotions of animals. Reading facial expressions and animal body language is a skill I have acquired. :) I have a tall fenced backyard as well as a large fenced dog run. I have two friendly dogs that your fur baby can play with. Your fur baby will have separate sleeping quarters (from my dogs) which have A/C, heat, a big bed, water bowls, and a sound machine. Potty Breaks and Outdoor time are as often as you prefer and as much as the weather permits. If your doggo is more comfortable relaxing inside, that's okay too!

I have a flexible schedule and can work from anywhere with decent internet, so your animals will benefit from an attentive, experienced carer who goes the extra mile to make sure they are safe and comfortable. I have experience with all sizes and ages of dogs and cats, as well as farm animals. I can work with special medical needs or elderly pets.

“We recently had Christopher stay with our two French bulldogs for 7 days, and he did a great job. It looks like he followed our guidelines; he sent just enough pictures, and when we were quiet for a few days, I reached out, and he always responded quickly. The pups seemed good when we got home. Even the mail lady said he was really nice. We would definitely invite him back.”

“Sarah took great care of our two cats and two dogs, as well as our house! Our animals really bonded with her. She was communicative, sent pictures, and asked clarifying questions so we felt confident our creatures were in good hands! We will definitely reach out again!”

“Natalie beat my expectations! She was extremely attentive of the dogs in every way. My house looked better than when I left it and the dogs were very sad to see her go. I will certainly be using her services again and I wish I used her in the past. I’m recommending her to all the pet owners in my family because she made house sitting feel truly seamless. She even watered my plants and picked up after my dogs which were things I told her she didn’t have to do! Thank you so much!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of October 2026, there are 379 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Secret Town. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Secret Town walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Secret Town maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Secret Town choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
