“We love Jimena! Her place is clean and cute. She is quick to respond and always sends photos of the day. She has great space for the dogs and is very convenient for us. She is kind and Seems to really enjoy what she does! Our dog loves going and socializing.”

About: “I’ve had dogs as companions since I was a child, and they’ve always been cherished members of my family. I treat every animal in my care like family, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away.” “Pet care is a natural part of my daily life, not just a job, but something I truly love. Living in the Appalachian mountains has taught me the value of a calm, grounded lifestyle, and I bring that same peaceful energy into the care I provide. I treat every pet like family and pay close attention to their unique personality and needs, whether they’re playful, shy, elderly, or needing extra comfort while you’re away. My goal is always to help pets feel safe, loved, and at home in my care.” “I care for every pet with the same attentiveness and love that I give my own children. Safety, trust, and comfort are always my top priorities, and I work hard to create a calm, dependable environment where pets feel secure and cared for.
“Carola was super accommodating and flexible when we contacted her on short notice to see if she could watch our high energy pup while we went for a hike in the provincial park (no dogs allowed). Drop-off went well and she allowed us to supervise while we introduced our dog to hers. She went above and beyond in caring for him and he was super happy when we picked him up. Would definitely recommend her.”

“We’re expecting our first child so it was so important to find the right sitter to watch our fur baby! He had a great time I loved receiving the pictures. I can’t thank Jill and her family enough!!!”

“Melissa was great. We were traveling with our dog and wanted to bike the Virginia Creeper Trail. Melissa's house was about 20 min from the bike rental shop in Damascus, and it worked out perfectly to drop off our dog for a few hours while we biked. She has a big fenced in the back yard.”

I use positive reinforcement and a calm energy to manage high-anxiety pets or those who are easily overstimulated, ensuring they feel safe and secure. I’ll send you consistent updates and photos so you can see exactly how your pet is thriving, giving you total peace of mind. Would you like to discuss a custom care plan or schedule a meet-and-greet to see how I interact with your pet? I've been around dogs all my life and will treat your pet like I treat my own. We don't deserve the love they bring and give out unconditionally. I'm retired. I have plenty of time to devote to your pet. Plenty of time to play, walk and snuggle with your fur baby! Our yard is not fenced. We have 10+ acres to take walks. We have 3 dogs who love to play. Our pack is very excepting and inclusive.
“Laura watched our 3 year old Golden Retriever for a couple hours while we were dropping our kids off at a nearby camp. She was very kind and responsive and took great care of him! Thank you!”

About: Hello! My name is Kelley and I have lots of furry children. I have three Siberian Huskies and a Shiba Inu and they make life fun and adventurous! I have experience working with cats and dogs of all sizes and behaviors. I also have experience caring for rabbits as I had my own. Growing up I volunteered at the VCA Adoption center where we took care of the animals looking for homes and spent a few years of my adult life volunteering and running a rescue. I absolutely love animals and treat all exactly as I would want someone to treat my own. 😁 I am available most evenings after 4PM or anytime on Thursdays. I try to be as flexible as I can for last minute bookings to assist in any way I can. My entire front yard is fenced in with 6ft chain link fencing. It has a mini agility course as a fun activity for the dogs. I also have extra crates and can crate if/when needed. If I am coming to your home I will treat it and your pets with love and respect.
“Amber did a great job taking care of our 10 lb poodle! She has a very friendly dog of her own and took special care introducing them to one another! Her home is clean, neat and cozy! We did doggy day care she walked Lucky 2 times in four hours! When we found out we’d be late on the pick up, she responded immediately and said no problem! We’ll definitely use her again should our need arise! Thank you Amber!”

“Sherrie was so sweet to my young dog! I dropped my dog, Rosie, off for doggy daycare while I went to work. I picked her up around 4pm and she was exhausted! Sherrie has a great outdoor space with a huge yard and kept me updated with pictures of her playing fetch with my dog all day! She was a phenomenal Rover!”

About: I have volunteered at an animal rescue sanctuary for 10+ years. As a caretaker my duties at the sanctuary require demanding physical labor, housekeeping, and responsibilities of supervision over animals and other volunteers. We had over 100+ different types of animals and always have been around dogs and cats! They are my joy! I work 2 full time jobs but I have mornings, evenings and weekends open! I am looking for something that will fit into that kind of schedule. I have no animals at home. It is safe and a very clean environment. I am the most respectful and will aways listen to what you and your pets need.
About: Hello, I'm Allison. I love animals. I started taking care of my family's pets when I was 4 years old. Animals play a huge part in my life, especially dogs. I'm a proud owner of a mix breed (Chance) and two other dogs(Loki and Prada. Who are all rescues. Chance was rescued off the side of the road with a minor head injury. Loki was rescued from a litter of pups, where he was the runt that nobody wanted. Prada was rescued from a "homeless", who could not care for her. I'm very patient and loving when it comes to the care of animals. I've worked at a animal shelter/vets office for 1 year. My services include feeding, playing, exercise, bathing, cage-less boarding, teeth brushing, and more. I'm capable of giving your Pet it's medication (oral or injection if needed). Im a stay at home mom. So I'll have plenty of time to play with your fur babies. My schedule is pretty flexible if needed. I have a very friendly and social cat. She mostly stays in her car tree or I can put her in a separate part of the apartment. So no need to worry about your fur baby getting her. I can also crate your fur baby if needed

They will always have a buddy to play with as I have a one year old golden retriever who is very friendly to all.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
