“Jeffrey was extremely responsive to my questions and wrote every day with updates and photos. He was patient with Papaya's anxiety, and madensure she ate, even if it meant offering her handfuls of food at a time. It's the first time we left our sweet goofy girl with someone, but it felt good to know she was in such good hands. Thank you, Jeffrey!”

“Gabriela clearly loves dogs. Ours was quite comfortable with her from the start. She also paid attention to details, asking very good questions about our dog’s routine and behaviors. She lives right next to a very nice trail through a park which our dog enjoys. Great communication during the booking and nice updates throughout the stay. We will certainly use Gabriela again!”

“Jackie was a wonderful sitter! Maddie was so happy to stay with them. We left Maddie with Jackie for a kind weekend and she took her to a pumpkin patch and sent great pictures! I highly recommend booking with her!”

“I can't thank Yuka and her boys enough for taking such great care of Benni!! It was very difficult to leave my Velcro dog for two weeks but it made all the difference knowing he was in good loving hands. Yuka checked in regularly and sent pictures allowing me to relax and not worry. It turns out Benni had a fun little vacation too. Yuka is such a lovely, caring, and responsible person I highly recommend her!”

“Chazz is amazing! I have a stubborn Husky mix who will pancake and refuse to move haha and Chazz handled her with impressive expertise and care. My girl is a bit shy but just loves Chazz, and he's so reliable and flexible. He really put my mind at ease.”

“Mike watched my dog for a longer time than I ever have left her. She was just fine and well cared for. He made an extra effort to connect with me overseas. I would definitely recommend Mike for your pet!”

“katherine is the absolute best! she sends photos and updates so you always know your pup is in great care. this is my second time booking with her and it was just as great as the first. don’t hesitate to book with katherine!”

“Could not have been more wonderful. I had a pretty last minute boarding request for Mariia - my corgi was going to stay with a family member who turned out to not be feeling well enough to take care of him. I feel so lucky that he spent the time with Mariia. She sent updates and photos daily and he was clearly in love with her! Thank you Mariia!!”
“Jessica was GREAT!!! if I could leave 10 stars I would. This was my wife and I first time using Rover and the first time leaving our pup for a long period of time but Jessica made us feel comfortable from start to finish. The most important thing is that she made our pup Marliey feel comfortable. She sent videos kept us updated on everything Marliey was doing. We will definitely be boarding with Jessica again in the near future.”

“Electra and Crescent were great!! Such warm people and natural animal lovers. They took such good care of our dog when he stayed with them and were extremely communicative, sending tons of pics and updates. Our dog clearly loved them and felt very comfortable in their home!! Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Hardy was very patient with my dog. He’s very knowledgeable on animal behavior. He explained his techniques and sent pics and video of my pooch. His daughter assisted with my dog’s care and he took a liking to her. We will definitely use him again.”

“Absolutely amazing! This the first time I left my dog since rescuing him and his anxiety gave me anxiety 😅. Kristina was great she answered all my questions, she was so kind when I asked stupid ones. She kept my dog safe and happy. She also works with reactive dogs great! Would recommend! Can't say it enough she is amazing!”

“Was very happy to know my dog was in good hands. Consistent updates and pictures from Emiline nade sure i was kept anxiety free and in the loop during lokis stay. Pictures showed him visibly comfortable at her place. Hope to have him stay over again the next time I travel. THANK YOU SO MUCH for being accommodating not just to my dog but also to me.”

About: I’ve not only been a pet parent for many years; I’ve also volunteered at local animal shelters and done pet sitting and boarding for cats and dogs. I love animals and treat every one as my own. Nicknames-Carla/Carolyn. I’m available for weekend/holiday boarding to allow pet parents the freedom to have a well deserved getaway experience when desired. Dogs/cats in my care are never left alone. Only one dog is in care at any given time unless dogs are from the same household and are friendly with each other. There will never be more than two dogs on the premises simultaneously. I’d be delighted to have your pet join our happy home and enjoy a fun mini vacation of their own. I treat each pet as if they were my own. In my pet centered home, I provide loving care and supervision at all times. I remain on the property for the duration of your pet’s stay. Dogs are always on leash when outdoors. Doors are always secured. Dogs are secured in vehicle if transported (leash with seat belt or in secured carrier. Cats are in secured carrier if transported. Since I have 2 cats, pets are compartmentalized in my home , if needed. At pet parent’s request, oral/topical medication may be given if I feel comfortable administering.
“Our pup Kody was happy as a clam and in great hands while we were on vacation. 1. Daily updates (pics / vids) 2. Very friendly 3. Flexible schedule What more could you ask for? 😁”

“Danielle, Wade and Jones are our favorites! Poppy has stayed with them probably 10+ times over the past year, and is always excited to go visit! Whether it’s an over night stay, a weekend or a week, Danielle makes things so easy for me, and I’m able to leave Poppy knowing she’s in the best hands possible. We are so lucky to have found her on Rover!”

“Zyiana was amazing!!! What a wonderful dog sitter, she treated my two dogs aka my babies with amazing care, she was wonderful at communication, timely and sent frequent updates and photos which was so reassuring for me!! I would 10/10 recommend Zyiana for any dog sitting needs.”

“Milissa is so communicative! Always sending updated & pictures which makes us feel so comfortable leaving Louie in her care. We will continue to rebook with her!!”

“Brenda and her family are the best. I left my two babies with them for ten days. You know how nerve racking that can be. Brenda reached out on varies occasions with pictures and updates to ease my mind. My babies were so so well cared for that my eldest was torn with leaving. That’s a great compliment to me about the care. I will be a return customer/client. Thank you Brenda for providing my babies with so much love and care! Run to Brenda you will not be disappointed!”

“Marissa and Kevin are truly a needle in a haystack here on Rover. They are extremely attentive, caring, and understanding of our pups unique behaviors and needs. They have a wonderful home and outdoor space. They took our pup on many adventures and made sure he was very well loved throughout his stay—the pictures we received were AMAZING. We are so relieved to have found Marissa and Kevin and have already planned many more boarding sessions with them.”

Becky and Christian did a great job taking care of Freya. They sent me daily update photos and answered my texts quickly. Freya was very comfortable and relaxed when I picked her up after she stayed in their home. I will definitely have them take care of Freya again.

Lizzy took wonderful care of my dog over a weekend at her house, and I would definitely send my pup to Lizzy’s again for a stay! My dog has anxiety and takes daily medication, and Lizzy had no issues providing her care. Lizzy was very communicative providing updates and answering questions with quick responses. My pup loved spending time in her spacious, fenced in backyard and came home very happy!

Jacqueline is the best dog sitter! She had a handful with my rescue Dude, a Shih Tzu mix. He was not medicated enough, because I did not realize that he was not quite as comfortable as he seemed at the Meet & Greet. Jacqueline called us, and we figured out a different medication schedule which did work. I recommend this sitter highly!
Barbara was great with Java Chip! She kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay, followed all care instructions, and made Java Chip feel right at home in a clean, safe environment. Barabara genuinely loves the dogs in her care. We'll definitely book with Barbara again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Baederwood home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Baederwood.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Baederwood sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
