“Eko and Sarah are the very best. I usually board my dog for vacations and it gives me so much anxiety I decided to try rover and what a huge difference they made. I enjoyed my vacation with cute updates on my dog instead of anxiously checking on her knowing she’d go on a hunger strike at the boarding facility.”

“I am so happy we had Nicole house sit it for our two puppies! They have a lot of energy but Nicole lovingly handled them like a pro! I will definitely be booking Nicole in the future!”

“Jared was great, attentive and communicated well. Was glad to have someone caring for my dog while he was in cone head mode and had to stay behind on Thanksgiving! Would definitely re-book”

“It’s difficult for me to find the words for this review. While we were away one of our dogs had a medical emergency. Because of Bill’s dedication, careful monitoring, and experience I was able to get home in time to say goodbye to my boy. Without Bill and his care for our fur babies I would not have made it home in time and my boy would have been in prolonged pain and stress. As well as sound decision making he then made sure our other dog was emotionally supported by spending an extended amount of time with her until we could get home. Bill remained in constant communication with us, our emergency contact, and the medical staff. His exceptional communication skills helped us orient ourselves to the seriousness and make informed decisions from an ocean away. He went well above and beyond his job description of being a dog sitter and was just an incredible person and support. Bill is the standard for pet care and is the best option for owners who deeply value their pets.”

About: I have taken care of both dogs and cats for over a decade. I can promise both reliable care and excellent communication while watching your pet. I am a stay at home Mom so my schedule for pet sitting is very flexible. I can visit as often as your pet needs. Pets will be fed, cuddled, and messes will always be cleaned. My hope is that your pet will continue to feel right at home even with their owner gone.
“On short notice, Sarah was able to come over for the night and play with our dog, Coco. Sarah is really sweet, and everything went just as planned. We felt very comfortable leaving our Coco with Sarah!”

About: Hi! I’m a dependable and caring dog sitter who truly loves spending time with animals of all sizes and personalities. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, or just keeping your pup company while you’re away, I make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. i just joined Rover, but I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life and have experience volunteering and caring for animals, so I understand how important routine, attention, and trust are when it comes to pet care. I treat every dog like they’re my own, with patience, structure, and lots of affection. I work full time during the week, but I always make time in my schedule to provide reliable care for pets. I plan ahead to ensure I can give each dog the attention, walks, and care they need, whether that’s early mornings, evenings, or weekends. I’m committed to being dependable and making sure your dog is happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it a priority to follow their normal routine as closely as possible so the pet feels comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. I follow all feeding instructions, walk schedules, and any special care needs, including medications if required. I also make sure to give plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship so the pet doesn’t feel alone while their owner is away. I treat each home with respect and keep everything clean and tidy, and I always provide updates with photos so owners can feel confident their pet is safe and happy. My goal is to make the experience as stress-free as possible for both the pet and the owner.

“Chantal was very conscientious about meeting me and my dog and about learning all of her special needs and habits and tricks that she likes to do, etc.! Her communication was great, she sent lots of pictures, per my request not too many not too few, and she gave me updates on how my dog was doing! 😊 I wouldn’t hesitate to book this trustworthy and caring sitter”

“Logan is so kind and was so attentive to our pup! We definitely plan on using his services again. We feel very lucky to have found him on Rover. We are new to it, and I was skeptical about how it would work but Logan is a gem!”

“11/10 500 stars, Haleigh took great care of our cats and our home during recent house sitting. Appreciated our initial in person visit to go over routine, and then photo/video updates, initial clarifying questions and keeping in touch about snow storm and all the wonderful cat updates while we were away.”

“Matthew watched our dogs for a few hours while my fiancée and I were in a wedding and our dogs seemed great once we returned! We got pictures of them while Matthew was there and our little puppy can be quite a lot as she’s very jumpy but she was wiped out by the time we got home! We would book with Matthew again.”

“Elizabeth diid a great job. She sent daily photos and my dog needed medication due to an infection while we away and the Vet said her infection cleared up with no issues”

About: I've had dogs my entire life and I have taken care of dogs and pets since I was 10. I walked dogs full time during high school. Friends and neighbors have trusted me and continue to ask me to walk/sit their pets. I am available to walk weekdays and weekends. I am a full time student at WPI, however, my schedule is fairly flexible so I can generally work around your dogs' needs. My schedule does change every 7 weeks as WPI is a quarter-based school and I go home to New York during most breaks (major holidays, fall break in October, winter break from December to January, and spring break in March). I house sit, but I do not stay overnight. I have pet sit for dogs of all ages and all sizes, ranging from chihuahuas to mastiffs. I make sure your pets get all of my attention and feel loved when in your home alone while you aren't able to do so yourself.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Auburn walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Auburn maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Auburn choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Auburn. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
