About: Hi there! My name is Shane, and I’m based in Taunton, MA, providing pet care all across Massachusetts and RI. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and over the years I’ve cared for dogs, cats, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and even chinchillas. My background includes working as a playgroup supervisor at a doggy daycare outside Boston, as well as my former position at Providence Animal Rescue League as a communications coordinator and pet photographer (which means I’d be happy to capture some great photos of your pets, too!). In addition to my hands-on experience, I’m comfortable and experienced with administering medications — including to cats and dogs with special medical needs. I understand the importance of patience and precision when it comes to keeping pets healthy and happy. At home, I share life with my partner Anna (also an animal lover and caregiver), our diabetic cat Nestor, and our two leopard geckos, Meechee and Verne. I also help care for my family’s dog, Finn, whenever I can. Currently, I work mostly remotely, with occasional in office days. Myself and my partner are a lovely tag team of caregivers when it comes to our cat and leopard geckos! This includes feeding on schedule, refreshing water, walks or playtime, administering medication if needed, and of course lots of love and attention. I keep a close eye on their well-being, send updates and photos, and always leave your home just as I found it. To be able to stay in your home is a privilege in itself, so I thank you for the hospitality! When pets stay with me, I provide a safe and cozy environment, enrichment through play, and plenty of supervised attention. I believe in treating every animal as if they were my own — making sure they’re happy, healthy, and cared for in the way that suits them best.

When I care for pets at your home, I try to keep everything as normal as possible for them. I stick to their usual feeding and walk times, give any meds they need, and just hang out to keep them company. I’m not perfect, but I’m always patient and caring, and I make sure to keep their space clean and safe. I’ll check in with you regularly so you know how they’re doing. If I’m watching pets at my place, I make sure they have a cozy spot to relax and plenty of attention. I’m pretty chill and try to keep things low-stress so they feel comfortable. Either way, I just want your pet to feel safe and cared for, even if I’m not perfect!
