“My normal sitter wasn’t available so I chose Amy because she had a fenced back yard and that’s what my pups were used to. Best choice ever!!! She sent pictures 2 to 3 times a day and I have never seen my dogs look so HAPPY! They had such fun with the other dogs, they had the best vacation ever! Truly the best dog sitter in RVA!!!”

“Cyndi was awesome! Kept both of our 100+ pounders and never flinched! They were so happy with her I thought they may not want to come home! We will definitely be booking another stay with Cyndi!”

“Jesse was so great with Zoey. He sent lots of photos, took her on a lot of walks and spent cuddle time with her. It’s clear he truly loves animals. We’d love for Zoey to stay with Jesse again.”

“Matt's a pro. Transparent, clear communication, easy to plan with. Our dog also had some last minute health issues the week of his stay, and Matt handled it all perfectly. 100% would book again. Thanks Matt!”

“My cockapoo had the best time in Susan's home. I don't think he was ready to leave. She sent me multiple pictures each day and set my mind at ease. I will definitely trust her with my little one again.”

“Natasha is awesome! Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Charlie. He came home so relaxed and happy. She took Charlie for walking also. She has such a kind, gentle way with dogs, and her communication was fantastic—frequent photos, updates and super prompt responses the whole time. We will absolutely look to her for future pet care and will gladly recommend her to everyone we know!”

“Call Pamela and their dog Marlowe were great hosts for our spaniel, Jewelie. They have a lovely fence backyard and the dogs played a lot everyday they took very personalized care of her and we would love to bring her back sometime!”

“I can’t imagine ever leaving my dog with anyone else, Sheri and her family are FANTASTIC. They took such good care of my dog, sent daily updates with photos, threw my dog a birthday party, and went above and beyond literally every single day she was in their care. I highly recommend Sheri - she was communicative, kind, and flexible and I might just plan vacations around her availability in the future.”

“Sheyanna took amazing care of my dog, Astro, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, she was kind, reliable, and clearly someone who truly loves animals. Astro was happy, relaxed, and well cared for when I picked him up, which says everything. She kept me updated, made sure Astro got plenty of attention, and treated him like he was her own.”

“Damacia was fantastic! Our Goldendoodle puppy loved playing with her dogs and was very well-cared for. She came home clean, happy and tired! We’d definitely recommend and will use Damacia in the future. We are so grateful to have found her!”

“Im so glad my little guy got to stay with Emily and her daughter! He came home happy and healthy, and Emily sent some photos and updates while we were away. Great and quick to communicate! Highly recommend.”

“Terry is hands down the best. It was my first time boarding my dog and I was admittedly nervous. She sent pics and videos to ease the anxiety of leaving my puppy for the first time. He had so much fun he was pooped from all the excitement when he returned home. I am so happy we found her. ❤️”

“Michelle was AMAZING with my dog. My dog is a special needs dog. (He can't do stairs, has anxiety accidents, needs medication, etc.) I so rarely leave my dog with anyone else because of this. But Michelle didn't make any of his needs feel like a burden. Her and her family were so warm toward him and very attentive to his idiosyncrasies. He got along with the kids, who were sensitive to his need to warm up to people. He ran around the house and was so happy to be there with the family. Michelle sent updates multiple times a day with pictures/videos and a report on how he was doing: if he went to the bathroom, what he ate, and what his mood was like. I will be booking with her again and will very easily recommend!”

“Ronda is amazing, patient, and very caring. She kept my puppy with great care, took him on walks, and sent many pictures timely. We will definitely go back to her next time onwards. Highly recommended.”

“They were great! Due to surgery I changed my schedule on them twice and they were still able to accommodate change day of. Sloan had so much fun and got to play fetch for hours! Definitely will reach out if I come back to the area!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ashland
5 Stars all the way! Diva and Bossman lived their stay with Shakita. Shakita was attentive and snuggled the dogs, giving them the much needed hugs and attention they wanted. We will be coming back to have Shakita take care of them again! The dogs were happy, and Shakita took pictures throughout the weekend, which was so nice knowing that these babies were truly calm and happy! Can’t wait to book again with Shakita!

Words can’t express how grateful we were to find Shakita! Our plans changed at the last minute requiring a panicked search for a sitter. Our dog Harley is only 6 pounds, so we were nervous about leaving her with just anyone. Shakita’s reviews were excellent and knowing that she had smaller dogs put us at ease. Her communication was excellent and she often provided pictures and video. It was clear that Harley was having a ball with her new friends. She was on a vacation just as much as we were!

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
