“Amy provided wonderful pictures and even video of our 5 month old puppy during his first stay away from us. She was extremely quick to respond, easy to work with, and made us feel at ease leaving our pup with her and her family. Highly recommend!”

“Certainly! Here's a potential review for Cyndi: I cannot recommend Cyndi highly enough as a dog sitter! She is incredibly professional and takes her responsibilities very seriously. My senior dog requires daily medications, and she handled everything with such care and expertise that I felt completely at ease. While I was away, Cyndi sent frequent updates, including photos and messages, to reassure me that everything was going smoothly. It was clear that my dog was in good hands, and her attentiveness and communication made all the difference. If you are looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and detail-oriented sitter, Cyndi is the one!”

“Niki as always is so great with our dog Moose! He’s happy to see her and likes staying with her 🩷. Her home is always clean and inviting. We feel very comfortable leaving Moose with Niki.”

“I had the pleasure of leaving my puppy with Shanisse and Kim for 1 week while I went away. I can't lie leaving my puppy that long was extremely hard for me. She sent me pictures and videos of Coco multiple times of the day. They have a really big closed in backyard and she seemed to love running around in it. As far as Coco being in the she house she was in her own space that was sort of "fenced" in with appropriate pet friendly gates. She had her own "condo" space. They did have one dog and a cat that coco got along with but I do not believe they had much interaction. I left food, toys and instructions that I do believe they followed. The communication was very good with Shanisse and Kim. I did not have much communication with Shanisse in person but more with Kim. They seem to work well together one for caring for the pets and one for the online support. Overall my experience was very good and I will be booking again. For reference my puppy is a cavapoo and is an out 15lbs. She did very well in their home. The posting says dogs allowed on furniture but I am not sure if she was in their furniture or not because I left her own bedding and she had her own little condo.”

“I think Susie had a good time with Pamela and Paul. We went out of town a couple of days and they took care of her. Susie is 14, moving a little slowly and hard of hearing. They had to carry her up and down steps to the backyard since Susie hurt her back a few years ago. We will use them again. We felt good about Susie staying with Pamela and Paul.”

“Sheri is amazing, amazing and even more amazing! She took care of my little pal just like I would. I received daily pics and updates and I can't say enough great things about her care. Thanks again for everything!”

“Terry was a fabulous sitter for my dog and my parents dog — she’s very experienced and genuinely cares about each of the pups she takes care of! I would highly recommend Terry to anyone!!!”

“Natasha and her family took care of our dogs like they were members of their family. Other places offered our dogs to " let out" every few hours from a shed. Natasha looked after our partially deff and blind senior citizen pug and our ball obsessed boarder collie in their own home. The dogs were always around someone who could play and love on them.”

“Vanessa was great! She was very responsive and sent me regular updates, photos, and videos. She was also so kind and flexible when we had to extend our pup's stay due to a family emergency. I highly recommend Vanessa and we will 100% book with her again. Thank you, Vanessa!!!”

“Petey had a wonderful time and I am happy to have Jeanette look after him whenever we travel. She provided pictures of Petey during his stay and was waiting for us on her front porch. He made new puppy friends, met a little boy who loves him and now has new friends.”

“Hilary was great. We met for a meet and greet and Athena was a happy dog! Hilary was very commincative in both the meetup through the day to drop her off. During Athena's stay, she sent me pictures and provided updates about her. Picking her up was also very easy. I would recommend Hilary any time and plan to use her again when needed!”

“Jennifer took great care of our dog while we were out of town. She communicated with me every day and sent photos. Before drop off, she called and told me about the environment at her house and asked some questions, which was reassuring. She treated our dog like he was one of her family members. He came home happy and tired, and he made friends with some other pups. We would definitely use Jennifer again as a dogsitter. Thanks!”
“Jessica was our Christmas miracle!!! She was so kind and flexible when our plans were changing. She sent updates everyday with multiple pics without me having to ask first. She was always quick to respond and took great care of Ranjha (she had already read up on his history before we had our meet and greet so she could ask all the right questions!) We will definitely be booking with her again :)”

“Matthew & Lucky are the best! They have always taken great care of my sweet Bailey. She has stayed with them several times & has always had the best time playing with her friends 🐾 Daily photos & updates are provided as well. I definitely recommend booking with them & look forward to bringing Bailey back soon!”

“Was such a great host of my cat pumpkin. Sent timely updates and made sure to get the cutest pictures of her back to me during her stay! Definitely hope to book her again in the future.”

“Michaela was AMAZING! So sweet and attentive to Violet, and sent lots of updates and pictures throughout the stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. She administered Violet’s medications and special food three times a day with no issues and made everything feel effortless. Michaela was also very easy to schedule with and super responsive with communication. We’re so grateful to have found her and will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Grace took such great care of our puppy Myla. She was very communicative and sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the stay. Taking on a puppy is not an easy venture and we appreciate her willingness to not just watch Myla for the week but also give her lots of love and attention too!”

“Our pups just had a trial date with Aaren and Jordon. They stayed for 2 nights. Aaren and Jordon communicated well, sent lots of pics and updates, and weren’t afraid to ask questions.”

“Ashley and her partner were wonderful! This was our puppy’s first night away and they made both us and her feel immediately comfortable. They are knowledgeable about dogs and kept us updated throughout the stay. Even the kids were great and helped her get some energy out! Would absolutely book with them again.”

We couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters! They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel completely comfortable leaving our pup in their care. Their home is warm and inviting, and it’s clear how much they love and care for the dogs they host. We would happily recommend them and look forward to booking again!

Sheyanna watched our dog Penny for a week while we went to the beach. She sent multiple photos and updates each day so we could see how she was doing. It was clear that she really cared about Penny and made her a part of the family. I will absolutely use Sheyanna again!

MeiLin and Ben took such wonderful care of our dogs while we were out of town. From the moment we dropped them off, it felt like we were leaving them with good friends, or their favorite aunt and uncle. MeiLin is an excellent communicator and kept us updated with plenty of messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. One of our dogs is a little anxious, so we’re always nervous about leaving him, but they went out of their way to help him feel safe and right at home. It didn’t take long before he settled in. Our other dog, Bacon, was clearly living his best vacation with belly rubs, treats, walks, and lots of love!

96% of sitters in Elmont can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Elmont.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
