“Madison was phenomenal. We left her with our elderly 12 year old dog, our 1 year old puppy, and our two 3 year old cats and she was nothing less than professional. 10/10 would recommend!!”

“Saskia was an amazing sitter for our 2 fur babies! They took to her the first time they met her, so we knew they would be in good hands. We had Saskia sit for us, bring them to our wedding reception for photos, and stay overnight. She took such good care of our dogs and we were more than pleased with her care!”

“Alyssa was fantastic! I have a house full of different pets, and she did a fantastic job managing all of their unique scheduling and dietary needs. She kept us informed of how things were going, and the house looks like she wasn't even here ( with the exception that she cleaned the litter boxes and took out the trash even though we didn't ask her to do so). Will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Annie was so wonderful with Sunny -- giving lots of love and keeping us up-to-date with photos and messages. It was our first time away from Sunny and Annie made it easy. Thank you!!!”

“Lauren stayed at my house and watched my two dogs! I came back to happy and healthy pups. She was great at responding and sent many photo updates. Would absolutely use her again. Thanks lauren!”

“She was awesome! She was kind, sweet and loves your pet for you when you're away. We have an 18 year old dachshund with Alzheimers , he needs special care and she provided it. Sending pictures and updates all day!”

“Morgan has been absolutely wonderful. She stayed with our Chihuahua for eight days while we were away on a family vacation. Our Chihuahua doesn’t easily warm up to people, and she took to Morgan very well! Morgan took care of our baby, played with her, cuddled with her, and sent pictures and videos throughout the whole week. She was also house sitting! Our pup will miss her; hopefully we will be able to book Morgan again sometime. Highly recommended!”

“Sarah is a FANTASTIC dog sitter! I knew when I met her that she’d be a perfect fit. She was kind and gentle with my dog, and brought a clipboard with questions which just showed how serious she was about giving the best care to my pup. During the stay I got lots of updates and cute photos and I could tell that my dog was so happy, got lots of exercise, and was very adequately snuggled ?? I will definitely book Sarah again. 10/10 would recommend!”
About: Hello, Pet Parent! 🐾 My name is Ana, and I’m quite a pet sitter! 😁 Dogs and cats have always been a part of my life. I learned early about their unconditional love and their simple desire to be close to someone they trust—something I think not all humans are capable of. ❤️ I understand that leaving your pet with someone else can be stressful. A lot of the things you worry about are the same things I worry about. Let’s meet in person and talk about it during the Meet & Greet. 🐾 Services I’m happy to offer: 1. Drop-In Visits — Cats & Dogs 🐶🐱 & More 🐠 (+ Amazon packages 😂) Every drop-in booking includes a FREE Meet & Greet*, and 30 (or 60) minutes of care during the visit. 2. House Sitting 🏠 I’m also happy to provide house sitting. FREE Meet & Greet included!* I do have a daytime work schedule, so on weekdays I need to leave your home approximately 7:00 AM–2:00 PM. I will also need to leave the house for a few hours in the evening. This works well for many adult dogs and cats, but it may not be the best fit for puppies or dogs with separation anxiety who need someone home most of the day. 3. Cat Boarding in My Home 🏡🐱 One family at a time. Your cat will have their own private space in our guest bedroom/office (the purple room shown in my photos), with everything they need to feel safe and comfortable. I don’t rush cats into a new environment. I give them time to acclimate and let them decide when they are ready to explore. Once your cat is comfortable and shows interest in exploring, I can gradually introduce them to the rest of the house. Their room will always remain their safe place, and they can go back whenever they want. My own cat stays separately from guest cats, so there is no need to worry about interactions or special food being mixed up. Every cat can have their own routine and feeding area. *The Meet & Greet takes place at your home, where your pet is most comfortable. It gives us a chance to go through your pet’s routine, feeding, medications, personality, and anything else you’d like me to know. I want to make sure I understand exactly what your pet needs and that we’re a good fit. I work part-time and I’m usually busy until 2 PM. I’m available for meet & greets after 2 PM. For house sitting, I’ll be away for work for part of the day, but I’ll be there before and after work to give your pets plenty of attention and care. 🐶🐱 Will accommodate your pet's needs whether at your home or mine. I believe in keeping their life routines as normal as possible while you are away. If boarding is needed, I presently have one cat of my own, so your cat/s are welcome to share our home for awhile (one family's pet(s) at a time).
“Keshia was great! My dogs loved playing with her and told us that we should go away more often. On time and our dogs were extremely happy and slept all night with out needing to go out. We were very pleased to have Keshia as oidog sitter.”

“What a relief it was to have Jadyn caring for my senior dog and rambunctious adult cat while I was away for several days. She followed all instructions and was very caring and attentive. She respected my home and communicated throughout so I knew how my loved ones were doing. I definitely recommend her!”

“Shannon has been great with getting to know our chihuahua who is very resistant to new people and takes time to adjust. She has made every effort to learn his routines. Shannon is also very prompt with all the appointments. We look forward to Shannon watching our chihuahua for longer durations in the very near future.”

About: I love animals, especially dogs and cats. I had two Pekingese dogs when I was younger, they lived until 16 yrs old. A few years ago my family adopted a Border collie/lab mix. Benson is so energetic and loves to go on mile long walks. My husband and I also have a Labrador retriever, he loves to go on walks but more so to the dog park so we do frequent there. This past Christmas we also added a new addition to the family, Mikey, our hyperactive and fun labradoodle. He’s still a puppy but he’s definitely good at keeping us on our toes especially his older brother Jordey! I also have my own personal experience with dogs, Ive been walking/caring for others’ pets since 2017. I love it so much, meeting new dogs, all breeds, sizes and ages. I would love nothing more than to make your pet feel loved, safe and nurtured whether you just may be at work or away on a trip! But I’m pretty flexible so feel free to message me even if it’s outside these times and maybe I can squeeze your furbaby into my schedule! I always tell my clients to feel free to leave me a note or list of things they’d love for me to follow. Can be any special dietary needs or structure they need me to follow.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ashford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ashford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ashford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ashford. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
