About: Growing up on a farm gave me hands on experience with a wide variety of animals, and my regular volunteer work at a vet clinic has given me knowledge and pet care skills. My long term goal of becoming a veterinarian drives me to provide the best care for every pet I sit! Whether it's training a puppy or managing the specific needs of a senior animal. I treat every pet with love and care for them with the experience i’ve obtained through years of clinical and agricultural experience 🐾 I’m currently working part time and usually not working more than 30hrs a week. I have a pretty flexible schedule and can usually give your pet as much time as needed! I like to follow their usual routines while keeping their space clean. About: I’m a recent University of Oregon grad who has been around dogs my whole life, from childhood walks with the family pets to caring for my own high energy pups. Growing up with both dogs and cats taught me how different each animal’s personality and needs can be, and I'm comfortable working with all shapes and sizes of pets. Your pet will get plenty of exercise and fun, from hikes and long walks to a good game of fetch. I love the outdoors and music, but dogs are my favorite. I've spent multiple summers watching dogs on Wag! and would love to meet you and your furry friend! I work 9-5 most days in the business office of the Portland Thorns & Fire, but have an hour for lunch that I would be able to let your dog out if need be. Before and after work, though, your dog would become my priority! I genuinely love spending time with dogs, whether we’re relaxing inside or exploring outdoors. I often take my dog to local parks and nature preserves, and I’m happy to bring your dog to something similar if you’re comfortable with it. I’ve driven daily for six years and have secure crates for safe travel if your dog prefers one. I’ll also treat your home with the same care I give my own.

I’ll also send at least three photo updates a day so you can stay connected with your furry friend while you’re away! My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. I follow their normal routines, including feeding, walks, playtime, and administering any needed medications. I love giving pets plenty of affection while respecting their individual needs and personalities. I’m also available for overnight stays and can provide morning care before my opening shifts at Trader Joe’s. I’ll send at least three photo updates each day so you can see how your furry friend is doing and have peace of mind.

An Exceptional Sitter — We Couldn’t Have Been More Fortunate! Finding the right sitter for our two dogs has always been a challenge. Both weigh over 100 pounds, are highly protective, and are neither particularly dog-friendly nor people-friendly. They are more like guard dogs than conventional pets, accustomed to their own private quarters and the freedom to roam over an acre of fenced grounds. Since they were puppies, we have relied on a trusted sitter who flies in from San Francisco whenever we travel. While this arrangement worked beautifully for years, it made even a spontaneous weekend getaway difficult. Determined to find someone local, we spent considerable time interviewing dozens of potential sitters, but none seemed quite right. Then we found Kristen, and what a wonderful discovery she has been! From their very first meeting, Kristen connected with our dogs in a way that genuinely surprised us. She has a natural ease and confidence around them, along with the patience and sensitivity to understand their individual temperaments. She listened carefully to every instruction, followed their routines meticulously, and attended to every detail without missing a beat. Most telling of all, our dogs were happy and relaxed in her care. For two animals who do not readily accept strangers, that speaks volumes. It is difficult to express just how much it means to find someone we can trust with dogs who are not easy to entrust to anyone. Kristen has given us the freedom to travel without worry, something we had almost resigned ourselves to living without. We consider ourselves extraordinarily fortunate to have found her. Kristen is conscientious, dependable, intuitive, and truly exceptional at what she does. We recommend her wholeheartedly and without the slightest reservation. Jeff was perfect in every way as a dog/housesitter. He clearly understands dogs, he picked up on my dog's special quirks and provided many regular updates. I could tell from her body language that she was pretty comfortable despite me being gone. Jeff also left my place clean and looking good when I got back. I will book Jeff again!

Our first time leveraging Karen’s services. Her previous reviews intrigued me and she did not disappoint. Karen was an excellent communicator from the outset and through our time together. She is proactive, thoughtful and very warm. To both the two leggeds and four leggeds! She sent regular and thorough updates and pictures and videos of playtime and koi feeding. We remarked many times how fortunate we felt to have our sweet pups, koi, and our home and property in her good hands. When we returned, everything was very tidy and everyone and everything was calm. Shiloh was a fantastic sitter for my very shy, sweet cat Luna. This is the first time that I have hired a sitter through Rover, and I was very impressed by Shiloh’s attention to detail and thorough communication skills. Luna has some complicated dietary and medication needs and Shiloh was on top of all of it and kept me in the loop. Not surprisingly, Luna hid most of the time Shiloh was sitting, but they made sure to keep an eye on how she was doing the whole time and made adjustments to make sure she was eating and quickly addressed an unexpected health issue. Shiloh also was kind enough to accommodate a last minute scheduling change for my booked dates. Shiloh kept my apartment in great condition and it was exactly as I left it when I got home. Highly recommend Shiloh for cat care and pet sitting.
