“Heather was great! I have a pack of five dogs and she handled them so well. One of them is incredibly shy and even he started coming around after a couple days. She communicated very well, showed up for all appointments, and my dogs seemed very happy to have her around. Thank you! 🐾”

“My cats love Courtney! Especially my super shy boy comes out of shell when he sees her. I’m super happy with her taking care of my two little ones, she spends quality time with them and doesn’t cut her visits short. I also really appreciate the detailed write up and the cute photos. Thank you, Courtney!”

“Beth had been wonderful! She sends lots of pictures and has taken great care of my two dogs over the past couple of months while we have been in and out of town. She is super responsive and very flexible. 100% would book again.”

“Hannah did a great job checking in on Arlo while we were out of town. She provided great updates and made sure to give him attention and affection. She was also very communicative and provided helpful updates after each visit. Highly recommend!”

“Andrew was a serious lifesaver. He swooped in when we needed someone at the last minute, was super quick to respond & asked all of the right/important questions. He was prompt in his house-visits with our pup, detailed in his updates to us, and he followed all of our instructions perfectly. Naga is thrilled about her new friend - we’ll definitely be repeat customers. Thanks Andrew!!”

“Sarah was wonderful! This was the first time I’ve used Rover and it couldn’t have been a better experience! I loved Sarah’s messages about how the pets were doing as well as the daily pictures. It was such a relief to know they were in good hands. :)”

About: All my life, I’ve owned and cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, and hamsters, so I’m comfortable with pets of different sizes, personalities, energy levels and routines. I have experience in handling reactive dogs of all sizes as well as couch potatos. You can count on me to follow any specific feeding routines and dietary needs, as well as administering medications. Pups, kitties, bunnies, and everything in between are welcome! I'm currently working a flexible part-time schedule which gives me plenty of time to walk your reactive pup, play with your crazy cats, or sit (and crochet) while keeping your pets company! Most pets don't want strangers in their space! I pay close attention to body language, and let them set the pace so each visit feels as safe and comfortable as possible. When staying in your home, I follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding, waste cleanup, playtime, medications, and as many walks as requested. I keep your home secure, never invite guests over, follow household instructions, and always clean up after myself.
“Alexia is a Great Pet Sitter, she helped Rako out for 9 days, with our return He was Given Food and Water, and there was no mess. I love how she took care of his pads. Great Young Lady to hire.”

“Katie was a delight to work with. Very friendly and kind, a great communicator. Followed directions perfectly and went above and beyond by collecting our mail and taking out the trash. Would definitely recommend to others.”

“Elizabeth did a great job helping us out last minute taking care of our dog. She was thorough and our puppy enjoyed having a companion to play with. Would highly recommend!”

“Ellie was absolutely amazing! She took marvelous care of our cats and provided detailed notes as to how the cats were doing during each visit. The pictures she provided were adorable. We would gladly re-book her and recommend her for pet sitting.”

About: I get a lot of pleasure assisting busy professionals with their pet sitting needs. I provide a nurturing and loving environment for your special pets in a very tranquil setting. Your pets will be treated as if they were my own. My husband and I will treat your pet with the utmost care and attention. References available upon request.

About: I have been pet sitting since I was a freshman in highschool for members in my community. I have always loved pets and used to knock on my neighbors’ doors in elementary school offering to walk their dogs (and cats lol). I’ve taken care of pets of all sizes, ages, and breeds, and even multiple pets at once. I love to take long walks in general and would love to have a pup come with me! For house calls, I’m happy to spend some quality time with your pet and play with them. I am currently a highschool senior who starts school at 8am and is done by around 2:30pm. I am happy to wake up early to take care of a pet’s needs in the morning and am usually available after school to do so in the afternoon as well. I occasionally work from 3-6 after school or for a couple hours on weekends but will communicate with a pet’s owner if that comes up. I will be sure to pay close attention to your pet when taking them on a walk, feeding them, playing, or letting them outside to make sure they are safe.

About: Hi, I’m Tiffany! I’m a lifelong animal lover and the former owner of Jazz Pet Care, a full-time pet sitting and dog walking company that I built from the ground up during college. Through Jazz and growing up with 11 (yes… eleven) cats I gained countless experience helping care for your pets. While I took a break from professionally providing pet care, I’m excited to be back doing what I love through Rover! My goal today with pet care is to help pay back my student loans. Whether it’s feeding, medications, playtime, potty breaks, or extra cuddles, I’ll follow your pet’s routine closely and keep you updated with photos and messages so you always have peace of mind. Happy to be a friendly neighbor to you and your pets :) My schedule changes a bit each week, but luckily I have a flexible full-time job! I’m usually available for morning visits before work, lunch-time drop-ins, evening walks, and later evening check-ins. My weekends are flexible too. I occasionally work local events, but I’m almost always nearby and can easily fit visits in before or after. Feel free to reach out, even if your schedule is a little unique! I know how important it is to trust someone with both your pet and your home. During each drop-in, I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine to help them feel comfortable and stress-free. Whether that means feeding, potty breaks, playtime, cuddles, medications, or just keeping them company, I’m happy to tailor each visit to their needs. Before I leave, I always make sure your home is secure and send plenty of photos and an update so you know exactly how your furry family member is doing.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Anchorage
Leigh was very attentive with Karen! She played with her, spent time with her, wrote thorough reports on their time together, and was overall very communicative. She even left Karen a toy (which she loves, thank you!!!) Leigh went above and beyond and I would absolutely book her again.

Lynn did a great job caring for my two cats while I was away. She gave me peace of mind knowing that nugget was being well cared for and receiving his medications as scheduled. I would for sure recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Elizabeth was great with our two cats! We had specific instructions about keeping them separate and mixing medicine into food, & she kindly agreed to a meet & greet to make sure she received the details & met our girls. We felt good about leaving them in her hands, & everything was the way we left it when we returned. Thanks Elizabeth!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Anchorage. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
