About: Hi my name is Whitney and I am a dedicated animal lover with over 20 years of experience caring for pets of all kinds. I have multiple animals myself including dogs and horses. A Bachelors in Animal Science and Post-Bach in Rangeland Science allows me to care for the most exotic of animals. Whether it is day walks, drop-ins, or overnight stay, I make sure all pets are safe, loved and cared for. I understand how important it is to trust someone with the care of your animals. I pride myself on being reliable , patient, and attentive to each animals unique needs. I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I do have my own animals to take care of but times are very flexible and able to be moved around. I have 3 friendly dogs that could keep your dog company or I can crate your animal as needed. I have a multiple acre 5 foot non-climb horse fenced area for animals to run and play. I unfortunately do not have a fenced in area directly off of my house but can create an area as needed for smaller animals with portable fencing.

Shelby is great! Loki enjoyed spending time with her and her sweet furbaby Winston. Shelby's an excellent communicator and matched Loki's energy level perfectly. She sent him home with a little note and goody bag, which was just so thoughtful! We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you so much, Shelby!

About: I have been around dogs and cats since before I could walk! I started pet sitting for my neighbors when I was a kid and have spent most of my life helping out my friends and family with their pets. I am a huge animal lover and also very active! I often pet sit for my friends and love to take their dogs on walks and runs. I live in Albany with my cat, Bill, and work from home a lot so I have lots of availability and would love some more dog time in my life! I work from home four days a week (wednesday’s i am in office) so i have a lot of availability to spend time with your dog! I am also an active runner and walker, so I can get your pup outside and get out energy if that’s what they need, or we can cuddle up inside and play or hang out :) I live in a spacious two-bedroom apartment with lots of grassy areas and walking paths around. I do have a cat, he gets along well with dogs, but your pup would need to be okay with cats! I have a very gentle approach to dogs and respecting their boundaries is so important to me. Depending on what you prefer for your dog, they are free to roam my apartment and be on furniture, unless you prefer them not to be! I have some experience training so if you’re in the middle of building habits, i will adhere to those practices :)

Catrina takes excellent care of Bella while we attend the OSU basketball games. Bella is our spoiled Dachsund and we have peace of mind leaving her with Catrina. Her communication with us while caring for Bella is great. We have already booked 2 more stays because of the confidence we have in Catrina.

I really appreciated how Tracy was able to provide daycare when I was out of town over the holidays when I needed to alter my plans last minute. My daughter needed some help caring for my puppy and Tracy was able to help us out. I was able to set everything up while I was stuck in the airport, which was great! I also got lots of picture updates and my daughter said that my puppy was excited to go to Tracy’s house everyday.

Salena took my two big boys in on short notice, and they had a wonderful time. She kept in touch with me via texts and sent photo updates during their stay. My dogs are with me most of the time and get anxious when we are separated, so I really appreciated the peace of mind knowing they were safe and well cared for while I was away.

About: Animals have been part of my daily life for over 33 years. I’ve cared for cats, dogs, fish, rats, hamsters, and guinea pigs. Care is offered with patience, respect, and gentleness. Drop-in visits are available, as well as care in your home or in mine, depending on what best supports your pet’s comfort and routine. I take time to understand each pet’s routine, preferences, likes and dislikes, as well as any fears, sensitivities, or anxieties. Subtle changes in behavior, mood, appetite, and energy are noticed early, and care is adjusted as needed. I communicate clearly with pet parents, provide thoughtful updates, and care for every animal as if they were my own. I also share my home with my dog, Happy, a Cairn Terrier mix who is mellow, kind, and respectful of other animals, and who does especially well with pets that enjoy a calm companion. My home is calm, cage-free, and welcoming. Pets are allowed on furniture and are never caged. I work from home, which means pets are not left alone or expected to fit into a busy schedule. This allows for presence, attentiveness, and responsiveness throughout the day. In my home, pets are welcomed into a calm, cage-free space. They are not confined unnecessarily and are allowed on furniture. Because I work from home, pets are not left alone for long periods and receive consistent supervision, attention, and care throughout the day. The environment is kept clean, low-stress, and respectful of each animal’s routine and comfort level. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I bring respect and care to your space and pet. I take time to understand feeding schedules, medication needs, behavioral cues, and any fears or sensitivities.

About: Hello! Animals are my passion and have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up taking care of a working ranch and was riding before I could walk. I have experience with dogs, cats, reptiles, amphibians, birds, horses, and livestock animals as well as some exotic animals. Through school, I did a lot of pet sitting regularly for neighbors and friends around the valley so I am familiar with caring for pets who require special care. When I got into college, I went to school for veterinary medicine but due to life circumstances, I had to begin pursuing another career. Now, I am working as a dog trainer with a good understanding of animals and some veterinary knowledge to help along the way. If you ever need help with dog training, just ask! While I am caring for your pet(s), I will play with them, take dogs on walks as the weather allows, and make sure your pets feel loved while their parents are away. I am dedicated to providing the best care possible and look forward to meeting you soon! I currently work evenings and my partners work mornings so one of us will always be available to stay with your critters. I am very flexible and organized so any pets we watch blends right into our routine like they're our own. I am willing to work with you to make sure your pet can stay on the routine they are used to and feel loved while they are away from you to help limit their stress. I, with your permission, will provide daily walks for dogs, exercise, and entertainment. I have experience with animals that require special care and I am familiar with giving them medication. I will play with cats and can teach tricks to both cats and dogs. I will use any treats and toys provided to avoid any possible allergic reactions and your pets will be treated like a part of our family when in my care.

We brought our dog to Whitney’s house for three days while we were in the area for work and she took great care of him! She was super flexible since we needed to pick him up at different times each day. And our dog was happy and well exercised when we got him in the evening. If we are ever back in the area again and need babysitting we will definitely bring our puppy back. Thanks Whitney!

I am so grateful to have found Shelby on Rover while up visiting Oregon for a few days for my niece's graduation. I am so cautious about leaving my 2 Labrador fur kids with a stranger and their dog. However Shelby was so accomodating in terms of willingness to do a meet and greet with her and her dog Winston, as well as being prepared in case my dogs needed to be separated. Nevertheless, Winston was such a sweetheart and both Shelby and Winston graciously opened up their home to both of my pups. She sent lots of pictures, gave me updates, let them play in the doggie pool, gave them lots of love and snuggle time when resting. On top of that, she was willing to come get them and drop them off each day and surprised us a "thank you" card and treats for the pup in the food bag. Much thanks, Shelby for taking care of my pups and making everything less stressful on us.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Albany on Rover is $28.86 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 297 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Albany. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Albany commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 297 sitters in Albany, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
