“Oliver is amazing! He was incredibly patient with my shy, slow to warm dog Tulip. I am super grateful for his friendly professional attentiveness and meeting with us 4x before the actual dog home sit days to get to know her. She bonded after the 5 nights with him. A very heart-warming successful Rover experience. So relieved to have a dependable and local dog sitter. Wr highly recommend Oliver!! 🤍🐶”

“Raymond is awesome! It was our first time leaving our young dog with a sitter and he was great with her. Excellent communication throughout and our girl was obviously very well cared for.”

“Lise was amazing. She took such good care of our three dogs in our home and was very caring, made sure to keep a watchful eye on each one of them as there are two elders that need a little more attention, and responsible with not only our pets but with our home. I really appreciate a kind heart and trustful person like Lise. She is my first choice to take care of my pets and I 100% recommend her. Lise, thank you!”

“Emma was so amazing with our pets this past weekend! She was so patient with my two chihuahuas who are often nervous around new friends. She left us great updates with pictures and did many long walks over the weekend! I am so glad I chose Emma to watch them and will absolutely book her again in the future!”

“It was only an overnight house sitting, but the next morning when I came back, one of my dogs went to her for cuddles even though I was there. I took this as a very good sign of how she treated my pampered doggies.”

“We have a really shy cat who is affectionate but takes a long time to warm up to people. Ashlee was super patient with her. Took good care of her, had good communication, and gave us regular updates. Also left our apartment neat. Definitely recommend!”

She let us know details about the dogs and our house was perfect when we returned. Her experience with animals and understanding of behaviors is clear. Would highly recommend her!!”

“Karen-Joyce is a gem. I live out of town on some acreage, down a dirt road, with lots of animals and goings on. She handled everybody with ease, caught on quickly to house rules, and showed just general confidence and sense on how to run the house. I felt confidence when I left on my trip! When I came home, everybody felt happy, settled, and the house was clean and organized. She is adaptable, communicative, responsive, capable... I strongly recommend her. Thank you, Karen-Joyce!”

“I highly recommend Vivienne to anyone who is looking for a trusted and reliable sitter for their fur baby. We were traveling out of town, ended up having delays and Vivienne was more than flexible with the sudden changes and took the best care of our high energy GSP. She is highly responsive, attentive, caring and we couldn't have asked for a better sitter to watch him.”

“Mona is amazing. She’s got a great intuition about animals, and a passion for them. She was super patient with our little lady, who has a lot of baggage and trauma and takes a while to open up to new folks. She is super responsive to texts and emails and sent us lots of updates and photos. She also took great care of our home. I highly recommend her and will definitely have her back to sit our home and pup!”

Cheryl is very comfortable with dogs and house-sitting and life in general, and she sat for us on short notice which enabled us to spend a week with our grandkids. We got lots of pictures and reports and Rio was happy and well-cared for. Thanks to Cheryl and we would highly recommend her.

I would highly recommend Karen-Joyce for pet and house sitting! Our pets and home were very well cared for. Karen-Joyce went above and beyond and we truly appreciate being able to take a trip and come home to happy, healthy pets and a well cared for home❤️ Thank you Karen-Joyce!

David is simply the best! We came to Santa Fe from Denver for a few days (Monday-Thursday) and we have 7 and 8 year old Border Terriers. Our male has epilepsy, and we do not leave him alone, so we hired David to watch them. David came on Monday night, Tuesday day, Tuesday night, Wednesday day and Wednesday night so that we could go out to dinner, go to the spa, etc. He stayed for several hours at a time, which was a big ask, especially since he has his own pup, but we couldn't ask for a better experience with him. He arrived on time or early, walked them, played with them, administered medications, gave them snacks and loved them! He sent us lots of videos and photos and updates, so we knew they were being taken care of and meds given, etc. He is also just a lovely person, and we really enjoyed getting to know him. He has a calming energy which was great for my boy with epilepsy. We won't hesitate to use him again if we go back to Santa Fe. Thank you so much David!

Elizabeth house sat for my two dogs and was just great. The dogs loved her, her communication was great, and she was able to handle the dogs meds and some stomach upsets. Really appreciated her attention to detail in terms of really doing what I specified re excercise, etc. I would trust her to take care of my pets anytime, and hope to rebook her next time.

Beth was amazing. I was traveling in Santa Fe and needed someone to stay with my little dog at the hotel while sightseeing. I am so thankful that Beth was available, and on short notice. She stayed with Jax and soothed him, and she also had great recommendations for ideas while here. I’d highly recommend her.

Thanks for your help during our trip, Bryce! Bryce was very professional and thorough- she was prompt with our meet and greet and asked great questions and was very proactive, professional, and kind. She took great care of our elderly pup and our house while we were away. We came home to a very happy dog and a spotless house! I’ll absolutely be booking with her again!

Great first experience having Donna take care of our pups and home! She was prompt, communicative and very professional. She was proactive in reporting a problem in the yard that would have been a future security issue with an escape artist husky we have! We are happy to have found her.

Where do I start.....Mel is amazing, and wonderful, rolled up in dog whisper enchilada. He was the answer to my prayers as this is the first time leaving my 3 dogs with anybody, and using Rover. Three large rescue boys and they loved Mel. Mel included text and pictures the whole time I was away, providing me with a peace of mind. Great communication. He is my dream come true.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Agua Fria on Rover is $48.15 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Agua Fria walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Agua Fria maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Agua Fria choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
