About: What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and hands-on experience caring for pets of different ages and personalities. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I also volunteered for two years at the Santa Fe Humane Society, where I gained experience working with a variety of dogs and learned how to stay patient, attentive, and calm in different situations. I’m reliable, caring, and focused on making sure every pet gets the attention, exercise, and affection they need. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine because I have a dog of my own, so I’m used to regular walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and giving pets consistent attention throughout the day. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets fits naturally into my weekly schedule. I care for pets by making sure they stay comfortable, safe, and on their normal routine as much as possible. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and any special routines their pet is used to. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection so they feel relaxed while their owners are away.
About: Hi there 🏜️ I have always been passionate about helping and caring for animals. I studied wildlife biology and currently work as a biologist. I am familiar with the needs of senior dogs, as I have an older fella. I am comfortable with administering medications to cats and dogs, and subcutaneous fluids to well-baved cats and dogs. I am an excellent communicator. I will provide a detailed written update on your pet's activities and mood on every visit and will share lots of photos, because I would expect the same level of care and attentiveness to my fuzz children if I couldn't be with them myself. I have three fuzz children of my own, Bear (dog, 15), Dakota (cat, 6), and Simba (cat, 6). They are my world! Going away for the weekend? Need a reliable sitter? My schedule is flexible on the weekends, so let's chat! My schedule during the week is very straightforward but a tad more limited time-wise. Im generally not available between 7:30am and 5:30pm. I can fit drop-ins or walks in the am or pm around those times during the week. I'd love to chat more to see how I could help out you and your fur family. I would love detailed instructions on your pet's routine to include info on any current medications, feeding schedule, walks, their triggers, etc. I'd like to maintain a routine that's as close to their normal routine as possible.

David is simply the best! We came to Santa Fe from Denver for a few days (Monday-Thursday) and we have 7 and 8 year old Border Terriers. Our male has epilepsy, and we do not leave him alone, so we hired David to watch them. David came on Monday night, Tuesday day, Tuesday night, Wednesday day and Wednesday night so that we could go out to dinner, go to the spa, etc. He stayed for several hours at a time, which was a big ask, especially since he has his own pup, but we couldn't ask for a better experience with him. He arrived on time or early, walked them, played with them, administered medications, gave them snacks and loved them! He sent us lots of videos and photos and updates, so we knew they were being taken care of and meds given, etc. He is also just a lovely person, and we really enjoyed getting to know him. He has a calming energy which was great for my boy with epilepsy. We won't hesitate to use him again if we go back to Santa Fe. Thank you so much David!

Ashlee took excellent care of our dachshund mix for 3 nights! She sent several updates with pictures, which were incredibly reassuring for me as a nervous pet parent who has never used Rover before. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again. She is very responsive with communication and didn’t bat an eye at Jet’s complicated meal/treat routine!
Angel is the best! Our flight was cancelled and our dogs would have been left alone for over 8 hours until we could finally return home on another flight. She came back to our house, feed them, let them outside and stayed with them for a few more hours. She is the best dog sitter we have ever hired and our dogs LOVE HER!
Elizabeth house sat for my two dogs and was just great. The dogs loved her, her communication was great, and she was able to handle the dogs meds and some stomach upsets. Really appreciated her attention to detail in terms of really doing what I specified re excercise, etc. I would trust her to take care of my pets anytime, and hope to rebook her next time.

Where do I start.....Mel is amazing, and wonderful, rolled up in dog whisper enchilada. He was the answer to my prayers as this is the first time leaving my 3 dogs with anybody, and using Rover. Three large rescue boys and they loved Mel. Mel included text and pictures the whole time I was away, providing me with a peace of mind. Great communication. He is my dream come true.
