About: Hi! My name is Tenaya and I'm currently a graduate student at UC Davis. I grew up around animals and now I have a cat named Gnocchi. I worked as a veterinary assistant for three years, so I'm comfortable with animals of all ages and I'm capable of administering medications. I also have experience taking care of a range of exotic animals from working at an animal sanctuary. As a student, I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule! About: Animals have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember. Raised on a farm and on a pre-vet track from a young age, I’ve spent decades caring for animals of all kinds—from house pets to livestock to wildlife. Starting at 14, I volunteered in local vet clinics and wildlife rehab centers, gaining hands-on experience with everything from cats and dogs to peacocks, horses, goats, snakes, fish, birds, and cattle. At UC Davis, I deepened my care skills while working at the world-renowned Vet Hospital, tending to cats and dogs during the swing shift. I also worked with campus goats, pigs, sheep, fish, cattle, and horses—and even fostered cats for the hospital. Now in my 30s, I’m an education professional and dedicated pet mom to both cats and dogs. I continue to care for friends’ and neighbors’ pets with the same compassion, attention, and responsibility that’s guided me my whole life. I’m certified in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR/AED/First Aid, and have emergency care experience with animals large and small. I’m calm under pressure, reliable, and always communicate clearly—your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I'm currently taking a break from teaching, and being a full-time stay-at-home mama to my 2.5 year old daughter. I have plenty of time to care for your furry family member. Please note that at this time, we are seeking families whose pets are comfortable around toddlers and children. I have a fully fenced yard, and a park just around the corner from my house for those whose furry friends enjoy a stretch, walk, or playtime! I am comfortable using a crate, and we have plenty of floor room in the house (carpet and laminate) for them to lay down if they're not crate trained. We do not allow dogs on the furniture. Cats are allowed to wander the house. We are more than happy to put up child gates to keep your furry family member in certain areas of the house if they're prone to getting into things (such as stuffed animals for the kiddos... I mean really, a lot of doggie toys these days look so similar! I'd understand the misconception. lol) We're not afraid to be firm but kind if your family member needs set boundaries.

About: I grew up in multi dog homes with large and small breeds (a Lab, a Weimie, a GSP, and 2 frenchies). I have PLENTY of experience walking, feeding, playing, cleaning up after, and interpreting body language of dogs. I’ve taken care of dogs in every life stage including puppies and seniors. Having a dog of my own hasn’t been feasible since moving to Davis for various reasons but I miss having furry companions! I’ve been getting my fix by walking and sitting for my friends and coworkers as well as volunteering with the “Barks and Rec” program at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter. An awesome program where shelter dogs get some much needed time out of the shelter and in front of potential adopters. The German Shepherd (named Dexter) in my profile picture was my last dog through the program and we had a lovely time walking along the American River. I work full time as a researcher in the agricultural biotech space. My hours are a bit flexible but usually hover around the 9am-4pm range. On weekdays, I’d be available for drop in visits/walks in the morning before work and in the afternoons after work. If necessary, a lunchtime visit may be feasible. Weekends are very flexible! You know your pet best! I’m most comfortable following your tried and true routines and rules so you and your pup can feel comfortable and at ease knowing I’m caring for them exactly as you would.

About: I’ve lived with cats and dogs my whole life, so I’m great with them. I know how to handle bigger dogs since I’ve grown up with aussies! I currently work a part time job, so I have a lot of time to dedicate to your animals! I’m free most weekends as well :) I’ll keep an eye on your animals to make sure they aren’t stirring up trouble while I’m there. I’m also not afraid to get a scratch or two from a cat!

About: I love animals of all types! My first pet sitting experience was at the age of 10 with a very sweet German Shephard, Storm. Over the years I've connected with many a canine, feline, and on occasion, equine family members. It's an honor to be trusted by you, and more importantly your four legged companion to care for them while you're away. I work full time and take long lunch breaks, which affords me time to take care of myself as well as spend time with and/or walk your fur baby. I'm available on the weekends for extended visits or walks. In the evening I'm able to do the same. I live on the 5th floor in a small apartment. If I am boarding your animals overnight, it will need to be in your home. Whatever accommodations your home has for your pet, I'll happily utilize them to ensure their comfort.
