“I give Lena my highest recommendation as a dog sitter! I am writing this review in reference to our experiences on two separate occasions. The first time we had Lena sit for our dog Daisy (a 4 yo pit mix) was a great experience. We always look for someone to watch Daisy who enjoys spending time with her and wants to have fun and Lena went above and beyond by not only taking Daisy on walks but also all sorts of hikes and adventures (we even got a cool photo of her wearing sunglasses!). Lena also dealt with some issues of Daisy having to go potty in the middle of the night very competently and professionally. She watched Daisy for 11 days and Daisy was well taken care of and happy when we picked her back up. The second time we had scheduled with Lena to watch Daisy for one night and Lena had a family emergency come up (a totally valid reason to cancel). Instead of simply leaving it to us to find a backup, Lena helped coordinate with her roommate to watch Daisy, which worked out great. Lena that she is not only able to take great care of dogs, but she is also a thoughtful and responsible person.”

About: For years I’ve been caring for animals as if they were my own. With my sister being a dog trainer, I’ve gained plenty of knowledge and encouragement to go into this business. I'm currently taking a break from teaching, and being a full-time stay-at-home mama to my 2.5 year old daughter. I have plenty of time to care for your furry family member. Please note that at this time, we are seeking families whose pets are comfortable around toddlers and children. I have a fully fenced yard, and a park just around the corner from my house for those whose furry friends enjoy a stretch, walk, or playtime! I am comfortable using a crate, and we have plenty of floor room in the house (carpet and laminate) for them to lay down if they're not crate trained. We do not allow dogs on the furniture. Cats are allowed to wander the house. We are more than happy to put up child gates to keep your furry family member in certain areas of the house if they're prone to getting into things (such as stuffed animals for the kiddos... I mean really, a lot of doggie toys these days look so similar! I'd understand the misconception. lol) We're not afraid to be firm but kind if your family member needs set boundaries.
About: Our family loves dogs and enjoys dog-sitting for our friends and neighbors. We enjoy taking dogs on walks, playing catch and cuddling with them. I have three kids (ages 8, 10, 11) who LOVE being around dogs. I work from home so it is easy to care for a dog. On the weekends, we are often out and about in our neighborhood. About: I grew up around dogs of all sizes and ages, but in 6th grade I finally got my own puppy! I was responsible for crate training, potty training, and all of her other needs. About: With over 20 years of dedicated pet experience, I have developed a deep understanding and profound love for animals of all kinds. My journey began with adopting my first dog, a lively mixed breed, which ignited my passion for animal welfare. Over the years, my home has been a sanctuary for a variety of pets including dogs, cats, rabbits and even reptiles (upon occasion). I work from home most of the week, so I have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of other working professionals that are looking for a reliable, passionate pet sitter to take their fur babies on walks (or runs) while keeping them within their familiar environment. Unfortunately, at this time, I am unable to welcome any pets in my house. I have fur babies of my own that I do not wish to upset their home life.
About: I have taken care of two cats since 2023, and have lived with two dogs in my family home since 2020. I absolutely love dogs and cats, and am willing to care for your pets with the same attention that I give my own animals! Growing up with different pets from fish, crabs, parakeets and hamsters is where my love for animals comes from and am excited to express that love in a way that is helpful to the community around me! I've lived in Davis for the past 5 years and as a former Unitrans employee, this opportunity seems like the best way for me to continue giving my efforts back to the city of Davis and its people! My schedule is very flexible currently and am able to help your pet throughout the day if need be! “I give Lena my highest recommendation as a dog sitter! I am writing this review in reference to our experiences on two separate occasions. The first time we had Lena sit for our dog Daisy (a 4 yo pit mix) was a great experience. We always look for someone to watch Daisy who enjoys spending time with her and wants to have fun and Lena went above and beyond by not only taking Daisy on walks but also all sorts of hikes and adventures (we even got a cool photo of her wearing sunglasses!). Lena also dealt with some issues of Daisy having to go potty in the middle of the night very competently and professionally. She watched Daisy for 11 days and Daisy was well taken care of and happy when we picked her back up. The second time we had scheduled with Lena to watch Daisy for one night and Lena had a family emergency come up (a totally valid reason to cancel). Instead of simply leaving it to us to find a backup, Lena helped coordinate with her roommate to watch Daisy, which worked out great. Lena that she is not only able to take great care of dogs, but she is also a thoughtful and responsible person.”

I graduated from UC Davis with a B.S. in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology and am in search of dog walking, training, bathing, and pet sitting positions to help me pay off student loans. Aspiring veterinarians usually know they have a special gift with animals as a child, as I discovered at the age of 7. Thus, I have been involved in the husbandry of my own dogs, cats, and exotic animals the majority of my life! Due to my extensive experience as a lab animal technician, kennel attendant, and shelter volunteer, I have 6 years of professional experience in animal husbandry. During the year of the notorious Camp Fire, I worked as a veterinary assistant at the UC Davis Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital to 4th year veterinary students with disabilities during their clinical year. As their "right hand woman", I provided various accommodations for physical and intellectual limitations in order to facilitate their success. I was directly involved with the treatment of animal patients in ophthalmology, cardiology, community practice, community surgery, companion avian and pet exotics, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, shelter medicine & surgery, anesthesia, behavior, and nutrition. For several years, I also gained technical skills as a veterinary assistant in small veterinary hospitals and for the nonprofit Mercer Clinic for the Pets of the Homeless.
