“Marla does a great job with all 3 of our pups and we love how much time she spends with them and the love and attention they get while we are away. Our house is always the same as hen e left and we love the fact we get a house and dog sitter all in one. Great communication”

“Melanie was fantastic with our Australian shepherd. She provided many updates throughout her stay, making us feel reassured he was in good hands. She followed our instructions and gave him lots of love. Will definitely have her sit him again!”

“Brian was awesome! I was surprised at how well Rocky and Chuy did with him. He did an excellent job of sending pictures and updates and left the house immaculate! I would highly, highly recommend him.”

“Alycia is AMAZING with our Georgia girl 🐶! She is one of the few I can trust with our fur baby. Alycia is reliable, caring, and keeps me updated with photos and messages while I am away. Georgia loves her dates with Alycia! She is happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for the entire time. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing Georgia is in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend Alycia to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive pet sitter!”

About: i have many years of experience caring for animals from guinea pigs all the way to a Great Dane. I have been a veterinary assistant as well as a kennel technician and worked at the local pet store I have open availability currently as I only work on the weekends. I have my own pets that I care for as well as other clients through word of mouth/rover. My pets at my home are very well taken care of with a fenced yard. I would prefer to watch/care for your fur babies at your home as my outside dogs are not always friendly to new comers
“Larrielle was absolutely wonderful with Reggie and Kona! Our boys have their quirks — Reggie with his independence and his medicine routine, Kona with his big personality in a little body — and she handled everything without skipping a beat. Multiple days of overnight stays - she is definitely 5 STARS!!! We came home to two happy, well-loved dogs and a house just as we left it -- if not cleaner. We felt completely at ease the whole trip knowing they were in such good hands with constant photo updates. We'd have her back in a heartbeat!”

“Kendal was an absolute dream. She was incredibly attentive to our fur babies, very communicative, and eased my anxiety of leaving one of our older cats who I haven’t left since she started her medication. All four of our animals have different personalities, schedules, and quirks, and she went out of her way to ensure they all didn’t miss a beat in our absence. I will definitely be rebooking with Kendal every time we’re in need of pet care.”

About: Growing up, my family nicknamed me "Elly Mae" because I’ve always had a love for animals—From dogs and cats, to rats, rabbits and guinea pigs I’ve cared for just about every kind of creature you can imagine (domestic or slightly non)! As a mature, responsible caregiver, I come with a lifetime of hands-on experience, I’m comfortable with animals of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I’ve provided daily care, socialization, and even medical support—including administering oral and topical medications, giving insulin shots, and helping special-needs pets stay comfortable and happy. Whether your pet has fur, feathers, or legs galore, they’ll be in loving, capable hands with me. Pet care is a natural part of my daily life. I’m flexible and strive to work with your pet’s routine to ensure they feel safe, seen, and cared for. I care for most pets in the comfort of their own homes, where they feel safest and most secure. I always respect each pet’s routine and space, and I take the time to build trust—especially with shy or anxious animals. I'm gentle, patient, and attentive to their individual needs, whether it's medication, playtime, or just quiet companionship. “Neida took wonderful care of Lucy! She was kind, reliable, and kept me updated throughout the stay, which gave me great peace of mind. It was clear that Lucy was well cared for and received lots of attention and affection. I truly appreciated Neida’s professionalism, communication, and the love she showed my pup. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Thank you, Neida! 🐾💕”

I will love your animal and care for them like my own. I have done and still do animal sitting in the community where I live. Most of my neighbors will recommend me to new comers. I prefer to care for dogs under 40 lbs but I have gotten dogs between 40- 100 lbs and wasn’t told the correct weight. if I am able to accommodate your request there will be an additional fee between $10-20 extra per day.I am available full time for your pet and my son is available as well and he loves animals and animals are drawn to him. In fact we have a wild rabbit that followed him around and now lives with us. i have a home that is safe for your pet and will not leave them alone for very long. They will be under supervision for most of the day.

“As newcomers to the area, we were nervous about leaving our dogs with someone we didn’t know. Ashley put our minds at ease by sending regular updates and photos so we knew they were in great hands. When a few severe thunderstorms stressed one of our dogs, she reached out right away, asked all the right questions about how we normally would handle it and made sure our pup was as comfortable as possible. We appreciated her thoughtful communication and care she gave our dogs!”

“Lakisha was amazing and I highly recommend her to anyone with dog sitting needs! Our usual dog sitter had a family emergency come up last minute right before Christmas and we desperately needed someone. Luckily, Lakisha saved the day and stayed with our 80 pound baby for 4 days. She sent regular updates and pictures, took great care of our pup and house and even washed her own bedding and towels! Definitely a trustworthy and reliable sitter!!”

“Erin was absolutely outstanding! She was arrived on time and was extremely communicative, sending us updates daily complete with adorable photos and videos of our babies. She even went out of her way to bathe our two big pups before we returned from our trip, stripped the guest bedroom sheets, and I’m pretty sure she vacuumed for us! One of the most stressful parts of retuning from a long trip is coming home to a dirty house and dirty puppers. She made the transition home seamless and couldn’t have taken better care of our two dogs and two kitties while we were out of town for 5 days! We will definitely be booking with Erin again for our next trip!! 😊”

“This was the first time we ha Elizabeth watch our pup. Although it was only an overnight stay, our pup seems happy, all directions were followed, and she left the house with everything neat and clean. I would definitely give her a 👍thumbs up!”

“David was an excellent dog sitter for our two dogs. When he sent photos they looked so relaxed which is such a plus when you are leaving your dogs with someone. Thank you again for taking care of them!”

“Kate was amazing! Her introduction a week prior to our needing her was key. She is chill, honest, reliable and so loving! I’m pretty sure our Forty loves her more now! I should also mention she watched our house as well and left it spotless! Mad respect! We will be using Kate again! Thank you so much Kate!”

Kendal was an absolute dream. I will definitely be rebooking with Kendal every time we’re in need of pet care.

Sarah was amazing. This was my first time leaving my dogs with a pet sitter and I was apprehensive. I had no reason to worry. Both dogs were very comfortable with her and I have one dog who has anxiety, and even he was at ease with Sarah. I received updates on a daily basis and Sarah was very communicative with letting me know how they were doing. And, my house was cleaner than when I left. Kiddos to Sarah. Will use her again.

Heather was amazing! After moving to Florida recently it has been hard for me to find someone that I trust with my dogs. Since day 1 of meeting Heather she was someone who I instantly felt I could trust. She was great with the dogs and remembered many of the details from our meet and greet. She is now my go to sitter for my babies when I have to travel!

Amy is, without a doubt, the best dog sitter we’ve ever had. We have a puppy and an older dog, and for a number of reasons, we don’t like boarding them at a facility or even sending them to another house. Amy brought her adorable pup with her and stayed with our dogs for five days, sharing pictures and check-ins that made us feel comforted and assured the entire time. Will book her again in a heartbeat!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Zephyrhills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Zephyrhills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Zephyrhills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Zephyrhills. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
