“Alycia is AMAZING with our Georgia girl 🐶! She is one of the few I can trust with our fur baby. Alycia is reliable, caring, and keeps me updated with photos and messages while I am away. Georgia loves her dates with Alycia! She is happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for the entire time. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing Georgia is in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend Alycia to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive pet sitter!”

“Arianna is the best! We had to travel north for a long weekend and Arianna cared for our Rico and Bella. She provided regularly updates and she allowed us to be away without worry. She is a trusted resource that we rely on with confidence. And Rico and Bella think she is the best!”

“Larrielle was absolutely wonderful with Reggie and Kona! Our boys have their quirks — Reggie with his independence and his medicine routine, Kona with his big personality in a little body — and she handled everything without skipping a beat. Multiple days of overnight stays - she is definitely 5 STARS!!! We came home to two happy, well-loved dogs and a house just as we left it -- if not cleaner. We felt completely at ease the whole trip knowing they were in such good hands with constant photo updates. We'd have her back in a heartbeat!”

“I can’t recommend Tyler enough! He took such wonderful care of my pups while I was away. From the moment we met, I felt completely at ease knowing my pets were in caring and capable hands. He went above and beyond—sending daily updates, photos, and making sure all of my pets' routines were followed to the letter. When I came home, my pets were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It’s such a relief to have someone I can trust 100% with my furry family members. If you’re looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive pet sitter, look no further than Tyler! Thank you again for everything—you’re a lifesaver!”

“Maggie was great with our pups and made sure to send pictures and updates. She was especially carinh with our pup Bruce who gets extremely nervous and upset with thunderstorms. Definitely Recommend Maggie for all your pet sitting needs and we have already rebooked her.”

About: i have many years of experience caring for animals from guinea pigs all the way to a Great Dane. I have been a veterinary assistant but I currently work at a boarding and daycare facility. I have open availability. My current job is extremely flexible. I have my own pets that I care for as well as other pets with my current role at the boarding and daycare facility. My pets at my home are very well taken care of with a fenced yard. I would prefer to watch/care for your fur babies at your home as my outside dogs are not always friendly to new comers

About: I have 5 years experience in the animal field professionally. I have learned animal behavior and signs, I have learned patience and understanding, how to build a bond, and so much more. I am currently working 4 days a week. I have three days a week I can fit your pet care needs into schedule. I can also possibly schedule times around my job the other 4 days as I work a swing shift. I have two separate fences on my property and a secured dog room that leads to the year fencing area with AC, dog bed, access in and out, fan, access to water at all times inside with an automatic water bowl outside. I have a friendly, Neutered male Golden Retriever to keep them company if preferred, or there is plenty of space to keep them separate. None smoking and no small children. For your home visits, I would respect your space and rules as well as accommodate all your needs and request a n your home.
About: I am going to school to study veterinary medicine and I work at an animal hospital and I’ve been around animals and all the different situations they have. When I wake up I feed my dogs and let them out before I leave for work or school and spend time with them outside when I get home. I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible to keep them comfortable and stress-free. In my home or a client’s home, I make sure pets have fresh food and water, regular potty breaks or walks, playtime, and plenty of attention and affection. I follow all feeding instructions, medication schedules, and any special care needs provided by the owner. I also keep the environment clean and safe, monitor pets for any changes in behavior or health, and provide updates to owners so they feel confident their pets are well cared for
About: i have always had a family animal, and i ended up being the one to care for it. i had kittens, cats, puppies, dogs, and bearded dragons, one time even a snake! All of which received amazing care up until they passed. Im currently working part-time about 32 hours on average a week. On days that i work i would come before im scheduled, on my hour lunch, and also when i get off work. Ive had to work with animal sitting around my work schedule before and will have no problem doing it for your animals as well. I am very observant and will make sure that absolutely nothing happens to your animals. And that they are cared for to my fullest extent.

“As newcomers to the area, we were nervous about leaving our dogs with someone we didn’t know. Ashley put our minds at ease by sending regular updates and photos so we knew they were in great hands. When a few severe thunderstorms stressed one of our dogs, she reached out right away, asked all the right questions about how we normally would handle it and made sure our pup was as comfortable as possible. We appreciated her thoughtful communication and care she gave our dogs!”

“Lakisha was amazing and I highly recommend her to anyone with dog sitting needs! Our usual dog sitter had a family emergency come up last minute right before Christmas and we desperately needed someone. Luckily, Lakisha saved the day and stayed with our 80 pound baby for 4 days. She sent regular updates and pictures, took great care of our pup and house and even washed her own bedding and towels! Definitely a trustworthy and reliable sitter!!”

“We were in Iceland for over a week and Morgann took great care of all our corgis and the tortoise. They got spoiled and I felt peace of mind when we were half a world away from them. Excited to use her again for future trips.”

“Vonna was amazing. She kept me updated on her schedule, showed up when she said she would, and even tracked my flight to make sure my dog was safe in case I got delayed. She was so professional and well-prepared for anything. I really appreciated how thoughtful she was in letting me know how my dog was doing while I was away. I came home to a happy pup and a clean house. I highly recommend Vonna and will definitely be reaching out to her again for future trips.”

“Ivette takes amazing care of our boys and they enjoy being with her. She takes all the stress out of us leaving them when we go away. Highly recommend her services.”

About: I have had puppies and dogs for over 25 years. I love small breed dogs like poodles and doodles. I have raised 3 poodles. I have a grandaughter doodle girl now. I have a small cat also. I am retired so I am available most anytime to come sit with your pets. I can do morning or evening or random checks during the day. I can stay overnight. I will take care of your pets in your home and keep them safe. I will follow your instructions on how to take care of your pets needs.
“Katelyn has been great with Ares, especially as she’s still getting to know him. She does a wonderful job keeping me informed on his behavior and is very communicative while navigating the challenges that come with the puppy stage. I truly appreciate her effort, patience, and willingness to work with him. Thank you for everything, Katelyn! 🩵”

Sarah was amazing. This was my first time leaving my dogs with a pet sitter and I was apprehensive. I had no reason to worry. Both dogs were very comfortable with her and I have one dog who has anxiety, and even he was at ease with Sarah. I received updates on a daily basis and Sarah was very communicative with letting me know how they were doing. And, my house was cleaner than when I left. Kiddos to Sarah. Will use her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Richland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Richland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Richland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Richland. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
