My dog is severely anxious, but Laura took the time to work with her and confer with me to make the first time I'd been away from my dog less traumatic for both of us!

Jill is AMAZING! Our pup has pretty severe separation anxiety and is shy around new people, so we were a little nervous to leave her with a sitter for the first time. Turns out we had nothing to worry about — Jill was incredibly understand, kind and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure Aspen was comfortable and happy. Will absolutely rebook in the future. She is just the best!

About: I've taken care of dogs every since I was about 16 looking for a job. I would house sit or just walk family and neighbors dogs. I have always treated every pet like my own. Dogs need attention and love. I'm currently working part-time but in my home. I am able to play, feed, water, and love on your doggie as needed. Doggie love is the BEST. I feed, water, and take outside. I play about 10 minutes after eating so they can get that energy out. I love hard and make sure your doggie feels right at home.

About: I have had experience with dogs for 18 years, ever since my parents got a dog for us when I was 8 years old and I had to help train it and care for it. Ever since, my family has had more dogs i’ve helped train and care for, and I have had roommates and friends with dogs that I’ve helped train and care for (including puppies, service dogs, and dogs who are elderly/ill). I am a consistent cat caretaker ever since I turned 19, when I got my first cat (7 years ago). Ever since, I have felt drawn to care for kitties and have fostered many kittens and cats since, in addition to caring for my own 2. I owned a ball python for a year or two, and my father has for six years. My sister also owned a leopard gecko for five years. I also cared for multiple guinea pigs to help out a friend for a long time. I’ve also had friends and family that have had birds that I have helped care for in the past, however, I have less experience with them. In conclusion, no matter the type, breed, size, age or health of your pet, it is important to me to make our companions/partners in life feel loved and cared for, and I would be honored to be a part of that! It is a large portion of my daily routine as is, and I would love for it to be an even larger part, especially if this could help provide means to live for my pets and I (finances) because due to certain conditions I am unable to work a normal job. I would care for your pets with kindness, love and patience. If you have any questions or concerns I would love to discuss them and I’m sure we could figure something out!

We were very nervous to leave our ten week old puppy for the night, but Walker did such a great job with him! She took him out to potty frequently, played with him, and sent us lots of pictures and updates. Our minds were at ease knowing that he was in such good hands. We will undoubtedly be using Walker’s services in the future!

About: Hi! I’ve been around animals my entire life and even teach the strangest animals (high schoolers) during the year. Currently trying to survive the summer by doing something I love which hopefully will be relaxing with your pets! I’m currently on summer break so my schedule is VERY flexible. I love to work and have a schedule and routine. Nothing is more routine than pet care! My personal dog is spoiled rotten. I plan to give your pets the same attention I give mine! I take my Grace on daily walks, car trips, and to get pup cups weekly. Whatever your pets needs are, I’ll make them happen!

We had the best experience with Taryn! She went above and beyond while watching our pups over the 4th of July weekend. Not only did she send us regular updates and adorable photos (even themed for the holiday!), but she did it without us even having to ask—which gave us so much peace of mind. The power even went out for half the day, and she handled it like a pro—making sure the dogs were safe, comfortable, and cared for the entire time. It’s clear she truly loves animals and treats them like her own. We are so grateful and will absolutely be booking with her again!

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for over 10 years and spent 5 years volunteering with an animal shelter in Saint Petersburg, Russia. I helped care for rescue dogs, assisted with transportation to veterinary appointments, supported adoption efforts, and spent most weekends working directly with the animals. I also volunteered in Cape Verde, Africa, helping care for homeless animals and supporting local animal welfare projects. Over the years, I have worked with pets of different ages, sizes, personalities, and backgrounds. I have experience with both energetic pets and those who need a calmer, more patient approach. I understand that every pet is unique, and I always do my best to follow their routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Your pet’s well - being and happiness are my top priorities. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I have a flexible schedule and can provide walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care. I always make sure pets receive the attention, exercise, and companionship they need while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, walking routines, and any special care requirements. I understand that every pet is different and always take the time to build trust and make them feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for in their own environment.

About: I’m new to rover, but I’m anything but new to pet care! I grew up taking care of all sorts of animals — goats, ferrets, guinea pigs, lizards, you name it! And in the last ten years, I’ve unintentionally built up quite a resume with pet sitting just because of my passionate love for animals. I am many pet owners’ go-to for pet sitting because they trust me to take care of their fur babies in the exact way they would, so you can trust me too:) My husband currently provides the only source of income for us, so my goal with Rover is to turn my pet sitting hobby into a little bit of extra income for us. Since I have no other job, I am free as a bird with an open and flexible schedule! I can easily adapt to your schedule and your pets’ needs:) I can easily provide whatever is needed for your pet. Your pet can run freely inside or be crated to your preference. The only thing I can’t provide is a fenced in yard, but our yard is huge and far from neighbors, and I have a totally free schedule to walk and entertain your pet however much you’d like. If I am coming to your home, you can trust me to follow whatever directions you have. You can also trust me to never take on more pets than I can handle just for the sake of the money, because my main objective is to provide excellent care above all else! We have one medium-sized dog, but he stays with “grandma and grandpa” while I am pet sitting unless of course you request for your pet to have some company!

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover based on a 10-acre homestead in Pageland, SC. I specialize in structured, safe boarding with supervised outdoor time and secure indoor accommodations. We have a brand-new 6-foot wooden privacy fence enclosing our backyard, providing a secure area for dogs to exercise, stretch, and explore during supervised potty breaks and play sessions. Guests stay in our large climate-controlled sunroom outfitted with seven kennels, giving each dog their own secure space to rest comfortably between outdoor time, meals, and enrichment. Crate rotation and routine breaks are built into our daily schedule, ensuring dogs have consistency and predictability. Crate & House Access Policy • Crating is standard when we are away or sleeping, and during rest periods. • Potty breaks are offered approximately every 2 hours during waking hours. • For older, calm, fully house-trained, non-destructive, and cat-friendly dogs, free-roam house access may be considered on a case-by-case basis with owner request and compatibility assessment. • Dogs with separation anxiety, destructive tendencies, or unsafe habits (counter-surfing, door-bolting, etc.) will remain on our structured crate schedule for their safety. Experience & Approach I’ve owned and cared for everything from hedgehogs and geckos to chickens, horses, and working-breed dogs. I’m comfortable with: • Medication administration (oral or topical) • Senior dogs • Puppies & house-training stages • Reactive or shy personalities • High-energy dogs who require clear routines • Multi-dog coexistence and safe rotations My husband runs his own business and is home most of the time, ensuring someone is almost always present for supervision, potty break intervals, and routine care. I am home evenings and weekends, and we work together to provide structure, security, and consistent monitoring. What You Can Expect • Individual crate spaces (no shared kennels) • 6-ft fully fenced private yard • Consistent potty break schedule (≈ every 2 hours) • Supervised outdoor time only • Optional house freedom only if fully compatible • Daily updates, photos, and communication We focus on safe, predictable, and tailored care based on each dog’s needs and the comfort level of their owner. Whether a pup thrives with structured crate rest or enjoys calm, supervised sunroom naps, we tailor stays responsibly rather than one-size-fits-all. I work full-time as an insurance producer in Monroe, NC from 8–5, Monday through Friday. I’m home all day on weekends, and during the week, my husband is at our homestead full-time and helps provide care and supervision. Since we work as a team, your pets will never be left alone for long periods. I’m also available for morning or evening drop-ins and walks depending on location and schedule! We live on a peaceful 10-acre homestead. We do not allow free play with other pets - so you know that your furry friend is safe and sound the entire stay! They will have supervised playtime with other pups from the same household, or with just our staff! Our top priority is a safe stay.

About: I’ve spent over 10 years caring for my own dogs, Rosie and Snowy, raising Rosie from just 6 weeks old to the happy 10-year-old she is today. That hands-on, lifelong experience shapes the way I care for every pet I meet. I don’t just ‘watch’ pets, I build trust, routines, and real connections with them. I also have experience caring for cats and love them just as much as dogs. Every pet in my care gets personalized attention, dedicated playtime, and genuine companionship. I treat each animal like family, making sure they feel safe, loved, and never alone while you’re away. I work as a teacher during the spring and fall, so my schedule is open during the summer for pet sitting. The only conflict in my schedule would be if I’m taking care of another family’s pets :). I care for my dogs in my home with lots of love and dedicated play time. I walk them at a certain time each day, usually twice a day. I like to build the same sense of routine with both my cat and dog clients. I think it’s important that the transition between you, the family, and me is as smooth and seamless as possible. That way the only thing different in your house is me!

Anna was wonderful. We just moved and needed a short notice sitter. She worked with me on logistics and kept our three dogs healthy and happy for a few days while we were gone. She updated us with pictures every day and kept me posted on how the dogs were doing and behaving. I am so glad that we found a great sitter so soon!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Wolf Pond Cross Roads on Rover is $22.2 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,073 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wolf Pond Cross Roads. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wolf Pond Cross Roads walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wolf Pond Cross Roads maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wolf Pond Cross Roads choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wolf Pond Cross Roads. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
