“After going through a few people and having terrible experiences and can as say alexis brought my trust back in rover. She updated me about my puppy at every step to the point I felt like i was there with her. I absolutely loved that. My puppy seemed to really be enjoying her time with Alexis and her dogs. I will definitely be using her service again.”
About: IF YOUR DOG IS NOT LEASH TRAINED AND CANNOT FOLLOW COMMANDS OR LISTEN, I WILL CANCEL THE BOOKING EARLY AND YOU WILL HAVE TO PICK UP YOUR DOG. So ask yourself that before you book, thank you. I love dogs and it is my job to make your dog feel like family by treating them with the same love and care that I treat my own dog at home. I’ve had a dog all my life. I’m working from home, so I am very flexible to offer my services! I’m working on my own schedule so your pet will be cared for 24/7 and not alone and will have playtime whenever and walks whenever! If I’m not home, my partner is so your pet won’t be home alone. I have a cat he is the sweetest little angel and loves making new friends so won’t be any problems with him. I love to exercise so walking far or short is no problem.
“Heather was so kind to watch my pups on short notice, and I highly recommend her!!! She had great communication, was super nice, and kept me updated in detail about how they were doing. Your pups will be in great hands with her, can’t wait to book again!!”

About: I grew up with pets and have always had dogs and cats in my home, so caring for animals comes very naturally to me. I’m a proud cat mom and also have a friendly, playful 2-year-old Labrador who loves being around other dogs. I work from home for a few hours in the morning, so I’m home all day and able to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, and care. I live in a house with a big fenced yard, providing a safe space for pets to play and feel comfortable. I also have two young children, so it’s important to me that pets are friendly and comfortable around kids. My kids are gentle and used to being around animals, and I always supervise interactions to make sure everyone is safe and happy. I treat every pet like part of the family and always follow their routine to help them feel at home while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work from home for a few hours in the morning, so I am home most of the day and able to provide attention, supervision, and care throughout the day. I provide a safe, loving, and structured environment for all pets in my care. I live in a house with a fenced yard, which allows pets to play and explore safely under supervision. I always make sure pets are secure and never left unattended outside .Since I work from home part of the day, I am able to supervise pets closely and provide regular attention, potty breaks, playtime, and feeding according to their routine.I treat every pet like part of my family and follow all instructions from pet owners carefully to ensure consistency and comfort. I introduce pets slowly and carefully to my own dog and always supervise interactions to ensure everyone gets along safely. I also have two children, and I make sure that any pets in my home are comfortable around kids. All interactions are supervised to keep both pets and children safe and happy.
“Sheila was awesome with my dog Walter. She was very patient and eager to learn about him and his quirks. She was very patient and gave Walter time to acclimate to the environment slowly. I would definitely recommend her to care for your pup!!”

“Boonie was very attentive, friendly and communicative. We did She sent me update and photos all day long to letting me know how my Barry was doing. This is new for us and I wanted to make sure my buddy was okay and having funny day. I highly recommend and we will use her again for sure. Thank you so much Boonie 🌺”

“I was very happy with the care Sam received. Brenda is very patient and knowledgeable. Sam was very shy and she worked with that. He loved running with her. Her daughter was amazing with him. He followed her everywhere. He also got along with Brenda’s pets. I have already booked her again.”

“I have never left my 8-year old beagle, Cody with anyone other than immediate family, and I couldn't have been happier of the way Karlee and her dogs "kept a good eye" on Cody. Karlee got to experience how much of a cuddler Cody is, and it gave him a much-needed opportunity to interact with other dogs, especially dogs that are bigger. Karlee is a very "upbeat" and positive person, and a real dog lover, so I would recommend her to anyone in the Charlotte area.”

“Freddy had a great day with Monie along with her 2-legged and 4-legged family members! He made friends with everyone, enjoyed belly rubs, treats, adventures in the back yard and treats! Everything went really well - he will be back! I highly recommend Monie!”

About: I currently have 4 husky pups that are very well socialized and would love more friends to play with. I also work with rescue groups to help pups in need. I have never met a pup I didn’t love! I currently work from home. Your pet will hardly be in a create and will be treated just like one of mine. Many potty breaks throughout the day. I often get on the floor and play so they know I am part of the pack. Toys? Well let’s just say there is not a shortage of toys in the house. Every room we visit has a “toy box”. Treats? No shortage of those here either but, I like to make them earn them - like enforcing commands they already know and rewarding them for going potty. I have almost a half acre with a fully fenced in back yard. Your pet will go out multiple times a day. I also foster and rescue pups so I am very good with socializing new pups with mine. They have previously lived with smaller pups such as a Jack Russell and Yorkie and they loved them to pieces. They also attend “daycare” and “overnight camp” in order to keep them socialized. I also feel like meet and greets are important to ensure your pup(s) interact well with mine. Safety is my number one concern. As I have stated mine are well socialized and I want nothing more to help others socialize theirs as well. Safety is a top priority in my home. I do accept puppies you well you just need to message me separately is we can discuss. My yard is fully fenced in and almost a 1/2 acre. I stop my work day to play fetch it for them for about an hour.
“Sarah and her family have a beautiful home and an amazing backyard for the pups! Her dogs are very sweet and Gracie had lots of attention and play time. Communication was also excellent. I highly recommend Sarah and her family. Thanks guys!”

“I was SO worried leaving my new baby somewhere else for the first time, but Nathalie was so sweet!! She kept me updated when I asked, took the BEST pictures, and was very respectful and kind about my puppy care instructions. Her dog was super duper sweet too!!”

About: What sets me apart is the way I care for each dog as an individual, not just as a routine task. I grew up with dogs and have hands-on experience raising and caring for two of my own, so I understand their behavior, needs, and how to make them feel safe and comfortable. I have experience with puppies and know how important consistency, patience, and structure are at that stage. While I’m not a professional trainer, I follow owners’ routines closely and reinforce good habits, whether it’s basic commands, potty routines, or leash manners. I also pay close attention to each dog’s personality—whether they are energetic, shy, or need a calm environment—and adjust my care to match. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to keeping owners updated so you always feel confident your dog is in good hands. My goal is simple: your dog feels safe, cared for, and happy while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine since I work from home and have a flexible schedule. This allows me to give dogs plenty of attention throughout the day, including regular walks, playtime, and check-ins. I’m able to follow your dog’s usual routine closely—feeding times, bathroom breaks, and any specific needs—without long gaps or rushing. Because I’m home most of the time, your dog won’t be left alone for extended periods and will have consistent care, supervision, and companionship. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I create a calm, clean, and secure environment where your dog can feel comfortable and relaxed. I carefully follow all instructions you provide—feeding schedules, medications, routines, and any special needs—so your pet’s care stays consistent. I’m attentive to behavior and surroundings at all times, whether we’re at home or on a walk, to ensure your dog stays safe. I don’t take unnecessary risks, avoid unsafe situations, and always prioritize your dog’s well-being. You can trust that your pet will be treated with patience, kindness, and genuine care, just like my own.

About: I have been around animals my entire life and grew up caring for dogs, cats, hamsters, and even reptiles. Over the past five years, my family has had a full house of pets, including one dog, two cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, and a chameleon, so I’m very comfortable with a variety of animals and their unique needs. In 2021, I completed training to have my golden retriever certified as a therapy dog. After becoming licensed, she worked alongside me in public schools, where she provided comfort and support to students. That experience strengthened my skills in handling, training, and understanding animals while ensuring they feel safe, calm, and well cared for. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I work from home, which allows me to give animals plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m able to provide regular potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins to make sure pets are comfortable and well cared for. Since I’m home most of the time, pets are rarely left alone and can enjoy a calm, consistent environment. Caring for animals is already part of my daily life with our own pets, so adding additional pet care feels like a natural extension of our routine. My home is very pet-friendly and used to having animals around. I have a family of five with three kids ages 11–16 who all love animals and are respectful of their personalities and space. Since I already have pets in our home, I understand the importance of maintaining routines, providing regular feeding times, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention. When caring for pets in my home, I focus on making them feel safe and comfortable, just like part of the family. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions the owner provides. My goal is always to make sure pets feel relaxed, well cared for, and loved while their owners are away.
“Lady had a wonderful stay! Jessica was very thoughtful and set up a meet-and-greet beforehand, which helped Lady feel comfortable. Lady loved being in her home and did great with her two dogs. When I picked her up, she looked happy and relaxed. She got walks, ate well, and came home settled and slept great that night. I really appreciated the care, communication, and welcoming environment. I would definitely recommend this sitter and would feel comfortable booking again.”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
