“Nora has been absolutely fantastic! She does drop-in visits when I am away on vacation or out for work. She communicates well and always sends great pictures of my dogs and cat to let me know how they’re doing.”
“Ken took such good care of our boy Hamlet. He’s just such a natural around dogs and is funny to boot. Very jovial and attentive with a great sense of humor. He gave us updates for each time he checked in Hamlet on each day with a report on meal time, potty breaks, and play time. Also sent cute pictures! Ken clearly loves dogs and shows that in his care for them. I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again.”

“Kerri was amazing. Stayed at our house and took excellent care of our Great Dane while we were away on a long weekend trip. Sent us updates and left everything super neat and tidy! Look forward to having her sit again :)”

“I met Adrienne recently to have her pet sit. Upon first meeting, she asked all the appropriate questions about how to care for them. The weekend had some adventures (not fault of hers) but she handled it beautifully and showed so much love for my pets. I absolutely will use her again. ❤️ -from A Veterinarian”

“Mabelyn helped us out on short notice (3 days!). She generously came over for before the booking for complimentary meet and greet. Mabelyn is eager to help. Our dogs are high maintenance and have a strict routine that she was able to handle and follow. She was communicative while we were away, asking appropriate questions when necessary and sending video and pic updates for fun. Recommended and looking forward to working with Mabelyn on a regular basis!”

“Lora watched Brinkley over night and was wonderful. She knew I am a worrier and sent me pictures and updates. Brinkley loved her and she took such good care of him.”

“Felicia was wonderful! Every email was returned quickly. Our dog, Walter loved being with her. She was prompt and friendly. We will definitely book her again. Thanks.”

“Was very pleased with how well she took care of Hershey. He does not like fireworks and she sat with him while the fireworks are going off up the road. She’s already scheduled to come back and watch her again. I would recommend her to watch anybody’s pet.”

“Kaila was amazing!! She took care of my German Shepherd while I was away for the weekend. She kept me updated the whole time and I’m so grateful she took such a good care of my baby!”

“She is such an amazing caretaker for our many, many animals and is an even more wonderful person! It's obvious she truly cares about animals and is very knowledgeable about and invested in their wellbeing. Plus she does regular check ins throughout the day to make sure we stayed updated on how they were doing compete with pictures!”

“Jeff really went above and beyond this visit. First off, my cat was not doing well and needed a same-day vet appointment. Jeff took him to the vet and ended up needing to be there for a couple of hours. He called me to tell me about the appointment, plus gave my cat needed meds, and even went to the store to buy cans of tuna for him to eat! He is really caring and concerned. Highly recommend.”

“Claire did great watching our 2 dogs while we went out of town for a week. She sent photo updates several times which was reassuring for us. When we got home the house was still clean and nothing was destroyed (our lab puppy gets into everything so that’s impressive). The dogs were obviously fed, healthy, and happy when we arrived home from our trip. Thanks, Claire!”

About: I have had dogs my entire life. I’ve had multiple dogs that I’ve raised from puppies into adulthood. So I have experience with every age of dog I can give medication like it’s nobody’s business. I can also handle a puppy. I’m currently working part-time at a restaurant so I either work in the morning or in the afternoon so it gives me plenty of time to be with your dog and give them lots of love I have been dog sitting since four years and have always stayed at a person‘s house. I am a bit of a neat freak so I always clean and can promise that you will come back to a clean house.
“Hailey did a great job!! We came home to our dogs looking happy and well and the house looked great after a nearly 2 week vacation. She sent very cute pics on request, and checked in daily. ?”

“Samantha stayed in our home with our two girls. She updated me everyday and was a very respectful house guest! Everything was tidy and just where we had left it. The girls were happy and I doubt they missed us at all 😂. I would definitely recommend Sam!”

“Anastasia was amazing with my dogs. I waited until the last minute to book her and she was very accommodating and so easy to work with. She even came out to meet the dogs a few days before our trip. She stayed overnight at my house with my 3 dogs--my 90 lb Spanish Mastiff (Presa), and my 2 foster dogs: a 50 lb Basset mix and a 90 lb Anatolian Shepherd. My Presa doesn't like strangers and will bark all day at them. The Basset also barks at strangers. The Anatolian likes to get up really early in the morning and plays non-stop. All 3 sleep in bed with you. These are not easy dogs to watch. Yet, Anastasia was great. She kept me updated, several times a day, on how they were doing with texts and pics. I had never used a dog sitter before and was very nervous, but she put my mind at ease. I would definitely use Anastasia again and highly recommend her!”

“Again, Nicole was so great with our dogs and cat, and made sure to communicate very quickly when our dogs had any tummy issues. She also took great care of our house and having her over was a breeze. Definitely recommend!”

“Jessica was great! She accepted our booking last minute and still made time to do a meet and greet prior to watching our dog. She was very communicative and prompt! Would definitely book her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Windsong Farms
Brooke took her time to come out and meet with us and our dogs prior to watching them. She took the time to listen to us and answer questions that we had. She was also easy to contact leading up to our trip. Unfortunately, circumstances canceled our trip. But we will not hesitate to contact and use her once again.

Very pleased with Taylor. Have you used her before. Will use her again in the future. Hershey seems to be very happy when I come home. I’m sure a lot of it to do on how well she treats Sam. She sent me pictures several times and gave me updates on how he was doing.

We had the best experience with Jenny S. We booked a weekend in house stay, for our daughter’s wedding. The animals were well taken care of, and very happy. She sent us daily photos, and we got to see how well they were doing. I highly recommend Jenny, it was wonderful.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windsong Farms walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windsong Farms maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windsong Farms choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Windsong Farms. On Rover:

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
